10 Chapter 10

In his dream he saw a beautiful woman. Long dark brown hair, hazel eyes, pale skin and a heavenly body. She was just so beautiful. She had an amazing pinkish red aura around her and just exuded grace and love. Wow. Could this possibly be her? A voice in his dream says, "This your bride. Rose. You mustn't touch her or come near her until her promised age of 21, otherwise the spell placed on her, to love you unconditionally, can break." A spell to love him? He doesn't care. He knows in his heart, this is his angel. This is the woman he's waited his entire life for. Regardless of a spell forcing her love, to receive it, in any kind of way, is good enough for him. He laughs to himself, for someone who just said he's incapable of giving or receiving love, why does he feel head over heels immediately.

The voice speaks again, "You have one year to make her fall truly in love with you, for the spell will expire and she will not be bound to you unless she agrees to marry you the night before her next birthday. Then, the spell becomes permanent. No one will know this, except you. Her parents will tell her of her fate the night before her 21st birthday, and they only know she's promised to you from her mothers mother, not for how long or under a spell. She must not find out about the spell, or that breaks the magic also. Tread wisely." And the vision dissipated, as if it was just fog in his mind.

..."That's the story Rose. We know there's more to it, we know there are more witches and spells and magic involved but it's been kept completely under wraps by those who know. We will never be able to find out. And trust me honey, we've tried but no luck. We do know we're missing a huge piece to the puzzle though. We won't stop until we find out.

Rose sits there in silence. It all seems too impossible. Witches? Magic? Spells? PROMISED to a strange man? With a dry mouth, she croaks out "Haha... if this is a joke, this would be a good time for the punchline." Her mom and dad just look at her with sad eyes. "Okay, so I was sold before I was born. Okay cool. Well I will need to go to bed so I can wake up from this nightmare because I can't possibly believe it. It doesn't even make sense. How can someone be immortal? That's fiction. It isn't real. It isn't real." Her mom grabs her hands, "Honey I don't want to spring too much on you right away, but your dad and I and of course you, will not age as swiftly as other humans. I scoff, "HA I'm sorry, what? Other humans?? So what are you! And what am I! I don't believe any of this for a second. Prove it." I cross my arms and get ready to run inside to go hide under my covers. "Rose, did you listen to what I said? Because of you, the world was saved. That man would have destroyed everything. We would have never been born, and you wouldn't have. And we're gonna get you out of this. I don't know how, but we're gonna get you out of this."

I just glare at her. "What are we." Her and dad glance back and forth at each other before taking a huge sigh and finally saying, "We're Hybrids honey. Part water fae, part human, part something else. It's never been clear. No powers have ever come out other than those to really know." She finished tearfully. "Rose, the signs have always been there. Think back and you'll realize what I mean. You shouldn't be so shocked about what we are."

Ignoring the last part I asked "When does this man come for me?" Silence. Neither parent wants to answer me. Laughing, "Haha so what, is he here now? Am I going now? Shall I pack my bags? This is unbelievable. Ya know, I was always so thankful for the parents I had. I was so so so thankful to have the most loving and kind parents in this world. Completely unaware that you'd sold me off before I was born because great grandma had to have told you, before you ever got pregnant with me, and you still chose to have me. I'm going to get my stuff, and I'm going to leave. I'm out of here. Please don't contact me anymore."

Walking inside I slam the door shut. I need some time to really sit down and think about everything they just told me because I can't get my head around it. It seems like a cruel joke. Why would someone even want me? I'm incapable of having feelings for someone else. I've tried. Time and time and time again. I'm broken. And now I belong to a man. Just great.

I wonder how far away from here I can be by morning time.
