1 Introduction

Slavery.

Something that wasn't uncommon in this world, but was still frowned upon.

And yet, it was also seen as a way out. For who, you might ask?

Men.

Eventually, in this society, men had overpowered women, taking back what they believed was rightfully theirs by force. It didn't take long for many women to surrender, for the fact of the stereotypical saying of "women are weak", which didn't seem at all stereotypical in this case.

Now, women are sold off into 'marriage' at the age of eighteen, being thrown out of their homes just to be forced into an even worse place. All of them hated it. Every female in the society was tired.

But the men, who felt that this was their right, also felt they were just getting started.

Abuse, trickery, manipulation, and so much more. The males of this world used whatever they could to get the women even more scared of them so they were even stronger.

And this is where the Runaways come in.

The group of rebels who said no to this idea as soon as it started. Instead of being captured and taken away, like most, they managed to stay free, living in several moving encampments across many different places. You could say they were all a different clan, or tribe. But that didn't matter. To each other, they're all family.

The opposite of them were the Takers. The police force who enforced the rules of women slavery and did everything to keep it in check. No one stopped them, and no one planned to. Except for the rebellion.

You'd think these rebels would only be made up of women, right? Wrong.

These smaller societies were made so men and women could live together, if they believed that women should be free. But many men had fallen into the greed of having their own personal playthings, so only few with an uncorrupted mindset even lived.

Anyways, it's clear that you're already interested if you've read it so far, right? I at least hope so. Enjoy reading, and take care!
