Chapter 8: Super-Woman Noona

Seriously? Just a year younger than me and yet you're giving me so much crap. Before they could carry on with their disgusting sickening conversation, I decided to make myself known and I did so by slamming his door wide open and turning on the lights, leaving his new girlfriend screaming from the top of her lungs and ducking for covers.

"Ahhhh!" The red-haired girl screamed, ducking underneath the covers. I did not need to look at her to presume that she was semi-nude; this wasn't the first time that I have caught Ji Sung anyways.

"Yah! Noona!" Ji Sung, clad only in his blue-checkered boxers shouted at my unwanted presence. He sat up on the bed, protecting me from seeing anything explicit from the new girl. "Why the fuck are you—"

I shot a sharp glare at him when I heard him said the word 'fuck'. Though I can imagine the sight of getting intruded on during intimate time was certainly unpleasant, I wasn't in the mood to tolerate any nonsense — especially by someone that I was about to cover for knowing that my mother would freak out when she finds out.

True to my infamous reputation, my death glare caused his frown to fade instantly. After catching my scowl, he clamped his mouth shut and uncomfortably cleared his throat. He removed his eyes from my line of sight whilst keeping them solidified on the floor.

He and my younger brother Lee Young Jae had once describe my icy glare (with very much exaggeration) as "the most painful glare ever."

As soon as I caught the fear in his eyes when he was smart enough to look away, I smirked and crossed my arms to lean on the door. Good thing that he was bright enough to know that I had too many secrets of his, if our mother were to find out about this, he would probably be skinned alive by now.

I felt slight remorse consumed me after wards and berated me for losing my composure; I shouldn't take out my personal matters on my siblings. Softening my voice, I averted my eyes away from the messy bed where he sat. "I am going to make this quick, where's umma and Young Jae?"

"Umma went out around noon and haven't been back since. Young Jae is currently at school practicing football, for an upcoming competition. Aren't you supposed to be at work?" He replied, then his brows furrowed when he saw the unsightly splat that the pie left on my jeans. "Yah, what's wrong with you? Go take a shower."

"Don't make so much noise and I want her out before umma get back. I am not going to say that one of your flings is my school mate again, understood?" I brushed my black locks away from my face, sighing.

"What?! Oppa! You bought someone back before?!" The red-haired girl screeched, popping her head out of the blankets to glare at him.

Ji Sung ignored her and continued studying me, he cocked his eyebrow, noticing my unusually bad mood and solemn expression, but he knew me well enough to swallow it down and shut up. "Yeah sure noona. Could you leave me some cash, I am heading out later."

"I won't be going work today, so just tell me when you need it." I replied, turning around and slamming the door shut behind me.

I heaved a heavy sigh; here we go with the somewhat dysfunctional family theme. As much as I loved my younger brothers, I couldn't help but hope that's my brothers would finally mature and help out with the house. I knew very well where all the money that I was giving him was going to; to buy gifts for his numerous girlfriends, for alcohol and for his occasional gathering with his friends.

Being heavily debt ridden by my late father's compulsive addiction to gambling, my mother and I both strive hard everyday to put food on the family. It certainly wasn't an easy task raising my brothers, but being one with main incomes providers in the family, at least they paid me the respect and listened to me.

'Super-woman noona,' they had called me once.

But I didn't blame them. You see, we were well off once upon a time, until a sudden crash in the stock market bankrupted my family's company. My father, desperate to gain back his wealth and pride, submerged himself into gambling. He passed away just a few months ago, a crushed and broken man. My brothers who were once brought up with wealth, had a much harder time adapting to our new frugal lifestyle.

I reached for my cell phone in my back pocket and switched it open. After typing in an excuse to my manager about why I couldn't make it to Luxola today because I was ill with a cold, I scrolled down my text messages, ignoring all the spam messages about the pompous prince sent by Chaerin and landed on a text message from my mother.

I pressed open and the screen shown her text – 'I will be home soon after I fetch Young Jae from school, please excuse yourself from your evening work today and stay home. We have things to talk about. Received, 4:57p.m.'

I found the message odd, but I brushed off the matter, thinking that she wanted to discuss about Young Jae or Ji Sung school problems. One of those brats probably got into trouble again. It had been awhile since our family has last gathered together in the evening, so it was probably something huge.

I left the floor of the hallway and headed to the bathroom. I nearly drown myself, letting the water soak, hoping that when I come out, everything that happened today was just a dream. I spent quite some time in there, just closing my eyes and relaxing, pushing away all my overly paranoid drastic thoughts.

Afterwards, feeling slightly better, I walked out of the bathroom an hour later, my body all wrinkly from being submerged underwater for too long. Drying my wet hair with a towel, I strolled past the hallway to see Ji Sung room door wide open, which probably meant that the girl left already.

I smiled contently, situating myself comfortably on the couch. I didn't want to turn on the television in an event that I have to see that scumbag prince's face again, so I just stared blankly at it.

Somehow, even while I am staring at nothing, I felt relaxed and calm.

I heard the door open and broke my concentration on the blank television, facing the door. "Umma, Young Jae." I greeted, standing up.

Hello!

I've always believed a good story needs to establish the characters background, so do bear with me as I flesh out the background story of our female lead!

I promise more fun and interesting scenes with the prince will appear soon. But then again, I didn't want to rush into their story just yet until I set the foundation blocks for the female lead. I hope you understand!

Thank you for reading till now! I hope you enjoy it and leave it a review <3
