1 1 - Why Are They Attacking Each Other

I was sitting in the college cafe I was waiting for my friend to show up,

She was usually on time, since she is a A student I was only a C student she made it her job to hang around me

I pulled out my phone waiting for a text or something. When I heard a thud on the desk

Making me almost drop my phone "Mattias!" She says in her sweet accent "yes?" I say she sighs

Pinching the bridge of her nose her chest pointed towards me as she leant on her palm.

"You gave me the wrong time and place" she says I gave her a worried look "oh sorry I

Thought I did give you the right one" I say shrugging she growled sitting down,

"I arranged a meeting with the school council about our club expenses" she tells me crossing her arms

Her left leg sitting on her right I picked up my pudding "Mmm alright" I say bored she sighs

"Hey! Give me some" she hissed snatching my pudding "huh!" I say she took a spoonful

I sighed defeated as we sat in silence, she checked her watch "Mattias, I gotta go to class,

You coming?" She asked I shook my head "no" I say she sighs "whatever" as she stood up abruptly.

Then we heard a scream making her jump, when someone launched themselves at her she yelped

"Mattias!" She says I was shocked a man was tearing into a girls flesh I held my mouth

"Oh fuck" I say about to be sick when Kendra grabbed my arm tugging me "come on!" She calls

People piled out the door trying to get out, Kendra dragged me to the emergency exit,

The college cafe was on the edge of campus so outsiders could come in, it lead to the alley way

Trash everywhere a man devouring a poor animal, I had my hand over my mouth

Leaving the alley I looked around in a few minutes the streets were littered with dead bodies,

Trash and crashed vehicles, the sidewalks were covered in the dead while cars were in a traffic

Jam dead bodies in cars, smashed windows things set on fire.

'What the hell happened' I thought to myself as we ran through the streets

When I went backwards hitting the ground some guy was gripping me to the ground he had bite

Marks, white eyes drool mixed woth blood I gasped trying to fight him off "Kendra!" I called

She made a whimpering noise "hold on!" She tells me I struggled under the mans weight

"What Are You Doing!" I called to her trying to stop him from biting me

No response.

"Kendra!" I called pissed that she left me I had my arm against his throat him now inches,

I closed my eyes ready for him to bite me. nothing I heard a grunt then something

Contacting with his head I opened my eyes as he fell limp on the ground I was breathing heavily

Pushing him off me as I wiped myself "I... Made... In time" she says out of breath

I got up "what took you so long?"

I say she lets out a breath "well I had to find a damn object to kill him" she says helping me up

I nod "yeah alright" I say she nods as we ran once more and oh I trip hurting my damn ankle

She pulls me up as we ran to her apartment making sure to avoid the deranged cannibals.

As we made it to her apartment we locked the door falling to the ground,

"What the hell are we gonna do?" I say she shakes her head "we have to call my father" she says

I nod "good idea I'll grab my cell" I say grabbing it from my bag

She called her father "daddy!" She called "where are you I'm scared" she said in a sad voice

I watched sad "I-I know what to do is mom alright?" She asked

Soon the phone cut off "Daddy!" She called "answer me!" She says her eyes teary

I put my phone down as she hugged me crying I rubbed her back "it's gonna be fine he's alright"

I comforted her, soon we pack our bags leaving she grabbed a small pistol "dad always said be

Prepared" she joked I smile as we left.

I let out a exasperated yawn "Kendra, how much food do we have left?" I say

No response.

I look at her patting her shoulder "hey, I'm here Ken talk to me" I say she looks up at me

"Sorry I'll see" she tells me I nod she opened her bag "only three packets of beef jerky" she says defeated

I nod "we better find some food soon" I tell her she nods

We saw a car I smiled "sweet come on" I tell her she nods as we walked to the vehicle

Checking for any dead "ok it's safe" I tell her she checks the back "clear" she says I nod

Hoping inside starting it "sweet it's going" I tell her when we hear a low growling I pulled out my

Blade, hearing the gun shot she jumped in "let's go" she says I nod driving off, when I came to a stop.

Soon we made it to the next town I smiled "we're here" I say as the others woke up "we're here?" Bree says in a tired tone I nod as we got out

"Ok we need to seperate into two groups one looks for food and water

The others for clothing and bed items ok" Kendra says in a tired tone, we all nod

Separating as me, Bree and Cooper went into the super market,

"Ok keep it down and crouch to cause less amount of noise ok" I whisper they nod

As we went inside we could smell something foul, along with raided shelves "it's been raided"

Bree complained I sigh "look, around and keep it quiet" I say as we walked in different directions

I went towards the drink isle seeing scattered drinks opened bottles and even rubbish I went

To the big packets of water, using one of the small bag filling it up with the water bottles

Leaving the isle I ran into Cooper who gave me a thumbs up.

"Bree how are you going?" Cooper calls to her

No response.

"Bree?" He calls "yes I'm here sorry I found torches and walkie talkies" she says I nod

"Alright good find Bree" I tell her she smiles as we grabbed a few torches and walkie talkies,

When we hear a loud bang it sounded like it came from the managers office.
