“Uhmm, well, I brought you a little something,” she said. “Just as a gesture of my appreciation for being supportive with my work project.” she said with a blush on her cheeks.

She then retrieved the gift-wrapped little box from her pocket and held it out to Carter shyly.

“Thanks for helping me win against Georgina and Theodore,” she said. “Here is just a little something to thank you.”

“Cartier isn’t just a little something, Celia,” Carter acknowledged. You really didn’t have to do this much.”

Lennie and Lillian urged impatiently, “Open it!”

“Alright, alright,” Carter acquiesced.

He lifted the lid off the box and as Celia watched, his broad smile turned into a curious grin as he raised his eyebrows.

“Well, I will say, you have quite the catchy eye,” he exclaimed as he held up the pink, crystal cufflinks.”

Celia felt her face grow hot with embarrassment.
