14 Hunger

Cesar and Andrew were standing outside of the class waiting for the period to get over, Andrew was already enraged because of Rosie's stupidity and his annoyance heightened because of Cesar's presence, he didn't know why but every time he looked at Cesar's cowardly appearance, his heart would become a mess and to top it all the boy looked like he was going to cry any second.

Cesar was standing there with an gloomy uncomfortable expression ——gloomy because he was humiliated by Mr Simmons and uncomfortable because Andrew was around him.

Having Andrew around him was enough to make him uneasy.

He had gone already gone through a horrible incident last night and to make matter worse, the start of his day was very bad. As he stood outside the class, Cesar couldn't help but worry about his rest of the day, the start was already this bad, what's going to happen next?

While he was pondering over how to save the rest of the day, his stomach started to grumble, last night he couldn't even eat anything more than a few sips of soup. On an empty stomach, he ran to school and was punished—— it would be surprising if his stomach wouldn't start rebelling against him.

Andrew heard the sound of growling and was startled, he looked around to see where the sound was coking from but when didn't find it, he decisively ignored it.

However, a few seconds later, he again heard that same sound, this time his brows scrunched up.

Cesar sucked in his stomach to stop the growling noise but the more he tried to suppress it the more louder the sound became.

' Stop it.' Cesar cursed inwardly

' Cheese omelette ,'whined his stomach.

' Just a bit more,' pleaded Cesar as he rubbed his stomach.

' Give me chicken nuggets,' protested his stomach.

Andrew noticed the sullen yet weird expression on Cesar's face and his brow raised—— oh so, the sound was coming from him. He crossed his arm and sneered, "Hey! you moron why are you making those annoying sounds? Stop it, otherwise I will kick you in the stomach."

As he said that he even raised his leg and made a swift kicking gesture causing Cesar to shiver. Worried that he will be beaten by thsi boorish, thug like boy, Cesar tried to stop the growling sounds but this wasn't something under his control. His stomach continued to make rumble causing Andrew's irritation to reach its peak. "What the hell is wrong with you? Didn't you eat your breakfast? Like how annoying can someone be? You don't do your homework , you always look at us like you are some weak little cry baby. Are you that poor that you can't even afford a piece of bread?"

Cesar didn't say a word to him, he immediately looked away and stood silent and feigning ignorance as if he couldn't hear Andrew.

Seeing that he was ignoring him, Andrew grew even more sullen, these sounds…they reminded him of a past that he never ever wanted to think of ever again, he banged his fist on the wall and growled, "Listen, Cesar! if you don't stop those annoying noises then I swear, I am going to give you a beating that you will never be eat your food again."

The noises did stop for a few seconds and Cesar finally heaved a sigh of relief even Andrew's brows eased a little but then —— RUMBLE.

Both Cesar and Andrew were stunned for two second before Andrew took a step toward Cesar to hit him but before he could get close to Cesar, the bell rang indicating that the period was over.

Andrew scowled as he took a step back and crossed his arms before leaning against the wall just as Mr Simmons came out of the class and rolled his eyes at the two troublemaker of his class, "Listen! both of you, now you both have to do that homework which I gave you yesterday ten times and show it to me tomorrow that is your punishment. And if I don't see the work by tomorrow then I will make sure that you two are suspended for the rest of the week."

Cesar and Andrew both nodded their heads.

Only then Mr Simmons turned around and left them alone.

After he was gone, Andrew and Cesar went back inside the class—— both were frustrated by the punishment given by Mr Simmons.

Rosie rushed toward Andrew to apologise for her mistake but Andrew was quite angry with her so he ignored her and went back to his seat while Cesar's stomach continued to growl, he was hungry so hungry that he could almost eat anything. Even the flowers that were fluttering in the vase on the teacher's podium, now he could only wish that the lunch break arrive as soon as possible.

At the factory, Ella was working in the warehouse of a company, folding the cardboard boxes and packing sets of tissue paper in it.

While she was folding the cardboard boxes she seemed to be lost in her thoughts, noticing this, her colleague Mary called her but Ella didn't respond as if she never heard her, Mary called her again but Ella didn't answer her this time as well. Seeing her condition, Mary gently patted her shoulder to get Ella's attention.

Ella finally came back to her sensed and immediately asked Mary what happened.

Mary rolled her eyes and replied, "Ella I have been calling you for so long but you never answered me, are you okay?"
