5 Chapter 7

As I open my eyes I see Rose sitting on the bed next to Luna's sleeping form.

"Good morning Senata. Breakfast is ready and their majesties are asking for you." She said.

Thoughts of last night were still fresh in my mind.

"Okay, let's go eat. I need a change of scenery." I say as I get up to get changed.

As I walk away I hear Rose say "I didn't think it was going to be that easy."

From inside my closet I yell "I heard that!" with a giggle. As I am picking out my outfit for the day she appears behind me and says, "Hey Senata! I overheard that sir Lucas has eyes for you."

I look at her confused. I ask "Who...?" As she stares at me in disbelief.

"The guard who is always guarding the door!" She says.

"Oh, him? He likes me? Why? I'm not special." I say back to her.

"Not special?! You are the princess and a royal stone user! You are one of the most special people I know!" She says. I get done changing and emerge from the closet.

"What about you and Jack? I saw the way you looked at her last night." This made her blush and I realized something. "You have a crush on her... don't you, Rose?" Which made her blush even more.

"L-let's get going." She said

As I left the room Rose gave me a smirk as I asked sir Lucas to accompany the two of us to breakfast which made him blush furiously, proving Rose's theory. But I didn't mind. He was sweet, strong, and handsome. I guess I never noticed before due to my sad state, but he was always there to protect me when I was training or when I was at Luna's side. He was never far.

"Thank you for being there for me all these months. I really appreciate it sir Lucas." I said with a smile.

"I-it was my duty. My princess." he said while getting down on his knee and bowing to me

"Senata." I said and he looked up to me confused. "Call me Senata. And you don't have to do that for me." I said to him.

"Let's go eat." Rose said.

After that day, Lucas and I would do most everything together. Each day we grew closer. We would walk in the garden together and tell each other our past. He would sit by my side as I looked over Luna. He was there when I took on my duties in court. And he was there when I was stressed out. He was there when the nobility tried to introduce me to their sons and daughters to try to get more power. He would drag me out of bed in the mornings and he was the last thing I thought about at night. After a while mother caught on to this and made him my personal guard. There was also the relentless teasing from Rose and the other two. After a while I realized that at some point I had fallen for him and wanted to tell him as soon as I could.

"Let's go for a walk." I say to Lucas and he nods. As we walk around the garden I notice lots of small things like the many small scars on his face.

"Where are those scars from?" I say, catching him off guard and causing me to giggle.

"Your laugh is cute, Senata." He said, causing me to blush without realizing it.

I blurt out "You're cute as well Lucas." causing him to go bright red. And as soon as I realized my mistake I started to flail my arms. "D-did I s-say that out loud?" To my dismay, my foot caught on a root, causing me to trip. I braced for impact but it never came. Instead, I found myself in Lucas' arms.

"You must be more careful," he said. Neither of us pulled away. Instead, he pulled me closer to him.

"L-Lucas..?" I asked.

"I want to stay like this a while longer." He said and my thoughts were racing.

"Lucas." I said as I looked up at him.

"Yes Sen-" I cut him off by pressing my lips to his, after a second or two I was about to pull away and apologize for thinking he wanted it too, but before I could do so I felt him kiss back and deepen the kiss. After a while we pulled away for air.

"Lucas I think I'm in love with you." I said.

"Me too." he said while pulling me back in for another kiss.

But the moment was cut short by one of the maids. She was out of breath and looked as if she ran all the way here.

When she caught her breath she said "Princess! It's your sister! She's awake. and she is asking for you!"
