9 Chapter 11

"Jack! Wait for me, please!" I called out to her as I ran to catch up.

"Jack! Wait!" That's when I noticed that she started to speed up.

"Jack! What's wrong?" I yelled as I got closer to her.

"Leave me alone, Roselia." She said. I grabbed her wrist and flipped her to face me.

"What did I do, Jack?" I said as I held back tears.

"Can I ask you a question Rose?" she said and my eyes shot up to look at her.

"Y-yes, what is it?" I responded.

"Who?" She said and she looked as if she was about to cry. It pained me to see it, but I sat and stared at her in confusion.

"Who? Who stole your heart? Who is the person Senata was talking about? Who is it? Do they know you as well as I do?" She said as the tears welled up in her eyes.

"Do they even feel the same way about you as I do..." she said.

"Jack, it's you! I like you but I was to afraid to say-"

But I'm cut off by Jack placing a kiss to my lips. Her lips were soft and sweet. The kiss is how I dreamed it to be. I protested as she pulled away

"How long?" She said as she caressed my cheek with her hand.

"As long as I've known you." I said.

"What a coincidence. I have too." She said as she pressed another kiss to my lips. This time I melted into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around her neck to pull her closer.

I pulled away between gasps for air.

I heard her say "Rose, please be mine." It felt as if my heart was going to explode. I tightened my grip around her neck.

"You didn't have to ask. My heart has always belonged to you." I said. This time I pressed a kiss to her lips.

I look at my sister and ask "What was I like?" I sat down at the table to eat my food.

"You were the most powerful of the royal stones, you were our leader. You taught us how to wield our stones." Celia said.

"You were fearless, and the strongest person I know. No one could match you. Even without the power of your royal stone, all the guards looked up to you, Princess." Lucas added.

"And more than that, you are the kindest person I've ever met, Lu. You found me and helped me come home to our family, and our kingdoms." Senata said with a smile.

"Thanks, guys." I responded, but something still didn't feel right. I felt like the person they were talking about wasn't me. That I wasn't their princess. That I needed to prove that I was Luna.

"Call on the power, my child." A voice said. From the others' reactions, they didn't hear it.

"You must call on the power, my child." The voice said. As if under a spell, I stood and walked to the middle of the room. I raised my arms to the ceiling and felt something pulsing through me as a bright light shone around me. A staff appeared above me, and I remembered the staff as my own. It was my stone's power that I felt going through my body.

"Good, my child. Now repeat after me..." The voice said. "I am the Divine Princess of the Moon, first Daughter of the Queen of Eclipsis and the King of Solaris. I am the vessel to the royal stone of Eclipsis, and I will use its power to protect this land and its people. It is my sacred duty as the crown princess of Eclipsis." I said as I slammed the other end of the staff to the ground, causing a magic circle to appear beneath my feet.

Before I knew it, I was cased in something. I didn't care. Just as soon as it appeared it disappeared. Just then pain crept up my leg and arm as if they were being burned.

"Luna, are you okay?" Senata said while rushing toward me.

"Y-yeah. I'm okay, Sena. It's just- OW!" I said through the pain as she wrapped her arm around me to steady me.

"What is wrong-"

That's when she saw flecks of gold wrapping around my shoulder.

"Luna! Your hair is changing!" Celia said in confusion. It was my long ruby red locks. They were changing. They were becoming shorter. "And your mark! It's gone!" She added.

"What?" I responded.

"Let's get you changed." Senata said as we crossed the room to the closet.

When we entered, she spun around and said "What happened to you, Lu?" Concern etched in her voice.

"I can't tell you!" I said.

"Why can't you?" She said.

"Sena, you'll think I'm crazy." I said in a stern voice.

"I would never." She replied.

"Fine. I heard this voice, and it told me to awaken the magic. And when my staff appeared, it told me to repeat what it said. So I did!" I said in defeat.

As I pulled off the long night gown I had on, I looked at myself in the mirror. Senata and I gasped. There were golden markings all the way down my right leg. It went all the way to my hip, along my left arm and shoulder, stopping at my hand.

"Y-your markings... They changed." She said. "Here put this on." She handed me some clothes.
