1 Introduction/Author's Note

Hello reader(s), before I jump into the story, I wanted to talk about the characters and overall meaning of this story. I personally have an interest in the human mind and how each and every one of us have an unique story. The beginning of this story will start with two people meeting each other after several years and reminiscing about how the course of events happened in their accounts (this is the best way I can describe it without spoiling the first chapter).

Because I am a new author and for the first time writing a longer piece instead of a short story or writing prompt, I am learning how to keep the flow of the story going. I believe that "Roses and Gold" will be like writing multiple short stories about the same topic. That will be what I keep in mind as writing the next chapters.

The characters are pretty interesting considering they are based off the people around I've met. One of the main characters, Rose Hattid, is very stubborn and clever. Although she is liked by most of the people around her, she doesn't realize it. In her eyes, what is in the past should stay in the past.

Another main character, Vic James, is terribly moody and quick to judge. Throughout the plot you'll see why, but he is extremely pessimistic and sometimes annoying to be around. These characters are an example of two different worlds creating one. Two personalities trying to understand the other.

That is what I want "Roses and Gold" to develop into as it progresses. That the world we live in is not just from how we view the world, but how others see us in it.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy "Roses and Gold".
