Sword Art Online, the first VRMMO game created by Argus for NeverGear and developed by Kayaba Akihito, the game takes place on a hundred-floor floating castle called Aincrad, and each floor is huge by itself.
Rory has clear memories about this world as it was the first anime Rebecca saw.

Right above the welcome message, an icon that has a white envelope design was blinking and vibrating, seeing this icon, Rory's red eyes flashed in recognition.
''A message box!'' She quickly clicked on the icon, and a message appeared.

.I never got to introduce myself while chatting, forgive me for being rude. My name is Gabriel, and the purpose of this message is to answer some of the questions you may be facing right now. First, you are both Rebecca and Rory Mercury, but since Rebecca doesn't exist in the fictional dimension, Rory is in control for security reasons.
.Second, you can do whatever you want during the mission, it doesn't matter if you kill one of the protagonists or marry one of them, because as I said, as you are there, it is now your reality, not a story with a destiny already defined.
.Third, the mission. Your mission is to seek and collect a fragment, it's like a shining marble fragment, don't worry, you'll know what it is when you see it.
.Lastly, you don't exactly have a time limit, but please try to complete it as soon as possible and.....be careful.
PS: To open the game menu, raise your hand and then lower it while keeping your index finger flexed.
PSS: About your attributes, abilities and equipment, you don't have to worry about it, only you can see your true status, and your gear, however unique they are can be explained as super rare drop items.

Swinging her body gently from side to side in excitement, she raises her hand and lowers it with flexed index finger, as stated in the letter. Doing so, five small round icons appeared in front of her and, skipping the menu options like settings and inventory for now, she clicks the status menu option.

She exits the status menu and clicks on the skills menu, ''Heeeh~, she turned my abilitys into game skills. Really interesting~!'' opening the skill menu, on the right side she sees rectangular icons with the skill's name and type, and on the left side there are two gray rectangular slots, probably the slots she can use, she deduced.
Her eyes shine more and more with excitement, she hasn't had a challenge for a long time, and surely this skill system will make her adventure more challenging.....well, just a little.

Looking at the skill options, Rory really didn't need any skills other than the ones that are original to her, in this case, she must choose two of the five available abilities that are originally hers. She's also a little upset because she also has magic abilities, but as SAO doesn't have magic, it wasn't available as a skill.
Rory thought for a moment and decided to go first with [Halberd User] and [Superhuman Strength].
She chose [Superhuman Strengh] simply for the strength bonus, and chose the active skill [Halberd User] because unfortunately in order to actually damage enemies in this game, she needs to activate abilities, but luckily, she doesn't need more than one active skill, as [Halberd User] already solves the problem.
After deciding the skills, she went to the equipment menu, and to her surprise, the equipment bag was almost entirely empty, she only had one item in her equipment bag, but that only item she had in the bag made her excited.

She cursed Gabriel internally for a while, then left the Inn.

Rory walked down one of the countless streets in the Town of Beginnings, the starting city of every Sword Art Online player.
She looked around with a smile on her face, the streets were full of players selling items and chatting, and of course she also felt some nasty looks under her, but unfortunately she couldn't do anything inside the city.
She caught the attention of many people for being a beautiful young girl, but most ignored her as they deduced that she was actually a man in real life, as this is normal in MMO games.
(N / A: You've already done that, haven't you? In fact, who never did?)
Walking through the streets, she noticed something that caught her attention. A little more than five meters from her is a little girl with brown hair arranged in twin-tails, she had her hands clasped on her chest and she looked around and every now and then she tried to call someone passing through the streets, but every time she is ignored, she was clearly nervous and was looking for someone to play together with her.
Rory silently walked towards her back, not making a sound. Getting closer, she could hear the girl mutter.
''W-Why everyone is ignoring me...'' the girl looked at the ground with a sad expression.
Rory approached the girl from behind and....
''Fuh~''
''KYAH?!'' When she feels someone blowing lightly in her ear, the girl jumps in surprise, ''Wha-Wha-Wha-What?!''
Turning around, she sees a beautiful girl with long black hair and pinkish-red eyes smiling at her, for a moment she forgot what happened and blushed slightly.
'She looks like a beautiful Ojou-sama...' the girl thought.
Coming out of her daze, the girl steps away from Rory and points at her, ''Wha-Wha-What do you think you're doing, blowing in people's ears out of nowhere?!''
''Are you looking for someone to play with~?'' Rory smiles at the shy girl.
''Huh?Eh?Oh.....yes I am....''
''I see, do you want to play together with me?''
''Eh? Really?''
Rory, instead of answering, she holds her red blouse by the edges and formally introduces herself: ''I'm Rory Mercury''
The girl awkwardly leans forward and introduces herself: ''I-I'm Silica! Nice to meet you!''
