Almost Roommates

Chapter Text

 Jimin

"No."

"No!"

"NOOOOO!!!!!!"

"KIM. TAE. HYUNG! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!!"

"Eh? Don't... Don't be like this..." he chuckled nervously. "My room is in front of yours. It's almost like...being roommates isn't it?" he showed that boxy smile of his in defense hoping that the other will be less furious.

"Almost? Seriously?" the boy dropped his shoulders while glaring at the taller with dead eyes. "Applying for a room with two beds. One room! That was your only job WHY was it so hard to do it??" he tried his best not to go berserk over his best friend.

"Jiminnie..." the boy moved closer then pulled out his last card: the puppy eyes "I'm sorry! But let's not think about it as something bad... Everything happens with a purpose! At least we will make some new friends."

 - Park Jimin

A 21 years old little paradoxon blessed with a face of an angel and a body of a greek god!

This kindhearted creature has all the charms to make every girl and boy into a melting mess by one single smile but still prefers to be alone as he thinks no one is truly good for him and he's cursed to be alone until the day he dies.

     Studies: Contemporary Dance

     Hobbies: jogging, drawing, stargazing

     Likes: puppies, cute things

     Dislikes: horror, scary things, butterflies

"I DON'T want to make new friends, that's exactly why I asked YOU to share a room with me" the 'puppy eyes' does had it effect because Jimin was slowly calming down.

"I know! I know! Your...weird...asocial, 'Friends are just an other problem for me to take care of' thing." he said imitating the elder's high pitched voice. "But you have to open up! Boy! It's university. Everyone's here to make friends."

"I already have you and hyung! It took me ten years and a lot of patience to get along with you too." he was now sitting on the edge of his future bed.

"That sounds awfully honoring but no! You need friends other than me. It's time to burst that little pink bubble of yours out."

"You're only saying this 'cuz you messed up the application"

"Maybe... But the fact is the fact, and it's a fact that you need friends! Friends.. that's the fact...?" said Taehyung getting a bit confused by his own words.

"I wonder how you have so many when I'm the only one who can understand that alien language of yours" Jimin was now laying down on the bed.

"I'll help you! Come on! It's gonna be fun. Let's go find hyung and then we can take a look at the campus! I heard they have a HUGE dance studio and there's a beautiful park where you can go and do that morning jogging of yours." the boy said it like he was speaking to a five years old kid, promising that he will buy ice cream for him.

"Guess I don't really have other choices." sighed Jimin. "Let's go find something good in this campus."

"That's my Chim Chim. Come on! Let's find hyung!" Taehyung jumped out of the room like some cute bunny and Jimin follow him like a zombie.

Yoongi

"Perfect" he whispered as he put his petite suitcase onto his new bed which seemed too comfortable for not to just lay on it and take a nice nap. The room he entered was just as big as he needed. A simple bed, a desk which was totally useless in his case, a small wardrobe closet and a door that leaded to his own tiny restroom. He personally asked for a single room since he wanted silence and peace at least in those few hours he didn't had classes. He finished packing his clothes out way too fast due to his small suitcase so he had still a lot of time to look around the campus. He wasn't a man of fashion, he liked simple clothing which meant that he wore black most of the times. With his pale white skin it kinda made him look like some kind of grim reaper on a summer vacation.

 - Min Yoongi

Well.. if there's light in this word then there's is darkness. And that what this 24 years old boy is usually associated with. Being the silent deadpan he is people learned to have distance and respect towards him. Only those who got to be closer with him knows how sweet and caring he can be. Under the cold mask there's a gummy smile that can send innocent bystanders into oblivion.

     Studies: Music Production

     Hobbies: unknown o.o

     Likes: silence, writing lyrics

Dislikes: anything that is annoying and loud.

He was just about to lay down on that 'way too comfortable bed' when someone broke into his room.

"Hyung!" the boy screamed with that annoying smile on his face then hugged him way to tight for his liking.

"Please! Get off me! Aishh... I only spent ten minutes here and you already here to annoy me. How did you even find me?"

"I asked the receptionist if he saw a short, grumpy ghost floating around in the dorms." mocked the younger. "We're neighbors!" he rejoced with childish frown that was soon replaced with a shocked expression. "Hyung. Please don't tell me you only brought that tiny bag with yourself." he whined while looking at the suitcase like it was a defeated wild.

"It's a suitcase Tae and yes I only brought that one because I didn't came to a freaking fashion show. Most of the time I'll be sitting in a rather dark room pressing buttons on a MIDI so no one's sight will be ruined by my appearance."

"Only mine" he stated with a frown.

Yoongi was about to fight back when he heard another voice coming from his doorway.

"What would I give for a single room like this."

"Jimin!?"

"Nice to see you hyung."

"Well life is hard if you have Taehyung around."

"Have to agree...but right now I would rather be in a single room with him then with anyone else." sighed Jimin.

"Huh? Aren't you sharing a room together?" he asked not even bothering to look surprised.

"We would've if this alien wouldn't mess up our application."

"How many times do I have to say sorry? I didn't mean it okay? I thought we're already over this. At least we can make friends." cried out Taehyung rubbing his head against Jimin's hand like a puppy.

"Just because you're over it, it doesn't mean I am!" he pulled his hand out of the hold.

"Well I'm not surprised, but Tae's right - kinda rare moments - it's time for you to step out of your comfort zone. We won't be together most of the times and I don't want my cute little puppy to walk around like a loser. Think about my reputation" joked Yoongi.

"What's your problem with me and friends?" pouted Jimin.

"That you don't have!"

Yoongi slowly got up from his bed and left the room motioning with his hands to the others to follow him. "Come! I promised Namjoon I'll find him after I packed out."

"See? Even Yoongi found a friend on his own." Jimin gave a dead stare to his friend then followed him out from the room.

"Is it some kind of 'Who has more friends on their own' contest?" guestioned Jimin lazily. "Plus if I remember correctly, Namjoon was the one who initiated this relationship."

"That's not the point."

They walked downstairs and when they arrived to the hall they decided to separate so Yoongi could find Namjoon and Jimin could take a look at the campus with Taehyung as he promised.

"Well, I'll see you around then I guess." Yoongi waved once before he started to walk away.

"We're dorm neighbors! You can't hide from me hyung!" Taehyung shouted after him but fortunately he didn't hear the elder's answer.

"Yah, Jiminnie! We should go there first, I heard there's a HUGE Gaming Room."

"Technically, I'm your hyung!" stated Jimin, grabbing the opportunity to remind his friend he's 2 months and 17 days older.

"78 days!" shouted back Tae who was already walking towads the mentioned direction.

"1872 hours!" answered Jimin while running after him.

Namjoon

"I told you to park somewhere...REALLY...far." he said when the jet black Mercedes parked right in front of the school's gates.

"But then you would've carry your suitcases from far." said the chauffeur with a smile on his face. "There's no reason to be ashamed of yourself"

"I'm not! I just don't need the unnecessary ado."

Namjoon really wasn't ashamed, rather proud of his wealthy family. He knew that only those who live well (or the poor nerds that had scholarship) could afford this university so there was no need to hide, but he still preferred to be out of spotlight. He didn't need any crazy girls jumping around him nor friend's that only crave after his money.

"Do you want me to help with the bags?"

"No thanks, I can handle myself." he grabbed the two heavy suitcases and started to walk away from the Mercedes as fast as he could. He did suffer with pulling those bags uo to the first floor, but still managed to survive and got there in one piece. He wasn't a man of strength, he would rather go to the park reading some books than spend hours at the GYM and who blames him. He was super attractive just the way he was. Girls were head over heels for him.

"Daebak!" he said as he stepped into the room that will become his new home for the upcoming five years. There was only five rooms like this in the whole campus and only the richest kids could afford it. It had one king sized bed, a huge desk surrounded by large windows with perfect view to the park, a Smart TV, one wardrobe and a private bathroom with a bathtub.

Yeah pretty nice isn't it? For him it was the minimum but still felt blessed to be able to afford it and that he didn't had to go and share a public bathroom with all the other students.

 - Kim Namjoon

A 23 years old genius with 148 IQ who decided to not listen to his parents and chosed to have a place in the underground world of rappers. Yeah.. Well... Life has to go on anyways and thanks to his wealthy family that didn't really care and let him enter his dream univerity and do whatever he likes, there's nothing that could stop him from becoming a producer.

     Studies: Music Production

Hobbies: singing in the bathroom, philosophizing over life's little pointless actions

Likes: music, reading, going to the park

     Dislikes: let's find out...

He didn't bother with packing out, he put his suitcases under his bed then went to take a look at the campus and the studio rooms.

"Joon!" he heard a deep voice from behind as he locked his door.

"Yoongi?" he turned around to greet the man who looked just as creepy as he remembered. "You didn't change. Still look like a corpse."

"Just like your jokes. And thanks. Is that your room? Don't tell me you're my neighbor too?" he asked with a playful frown.

"Who's too? I'm afraid I am. It's awesome. I won't be alone at least. We can hang out all the time...Day and night...Anytime!" he kept scaring the pale boy knowing that he wasn't the type who loves having company 24/7.

"Yeah... Magnificent." muttered Yoongi.

"Lucky for you we probably will spend most of our times at the studios creating awesome beats for those who worth to listen to it, aren't we?" he put a hand over Yoongi's shoulder and pulled the boy with himself.

"Can't argue with that." smirked the other as he let the younger lead him.

Jungkook

"Please tell me this is a joke."

The raven haired boy was having a hard time with keeping his calmness but still managed to speak with a low voice.

"Just...Don't freak out, okay? I'll fix this." the boy in front of him looked slightly nervous but still had a wide smile on his face.

"You better do if you don't want to be ritually executed."

"Isn't it a bit too harsh considering my crimes?" tried to joke the other but seeing his friend's dead stare he decided to not wake up the sleeping lion in him.

"I'll be back! You'll see. I'll fix this before you can say Hobi and we will have our shared room just as we planned."

"Hobi."

"Yahhhh, can't you just play along for once?" whined the boy as he rushed out of the room.

'Idiot! Why did I even trust him. I should've known it would turn out like this.' Jungkook thought as he looked around the room. The room he will not be sharing with his best friend. Wonderful. He needed everything but this in his life. He was a horrible company and didn't even bothered trying to be a good one. He didn't need friends he already had Hoseok and it was way too much. He hated everything that contained social activities which was kinda funny since his best friend was the most social creature in the world. He always dragged him out to some stupid parties from time to time but that was all. It's not like he was bored all the time he just spent most of his time with drawing and painting. If he went out he went to see the current exhibitions and galleries nearby then hurried back to his safe heaven as fast as possible.

"Kook. I really messed up." Hoseok came back with apologizing eyes.

"Like always." he sighted.

"They can't change rooms since it would affect the other people in the other room." explained the boy.

"I just still don't understand how can someone mess up the application but since it was you, I shouldn't be surprised. I bet we are the only ones having this problem." Jungkook took his suitcase and went to the passageway.

"At least we are close. Look. Opposite neighbors." Jungkook gave Hoseok a cold stare then opened his own door.

"You seem awfully happy even though you just messed up our "five years of joy and laughter" together." recalling the elder's words he looked around in his new room.

"Yah. I'm not. I just don't want this to ruin my mood. I waited way too much to be here and I want it to be perfect. Think like it's the worst thing that could happen to us so there's only 'joy and laughter' waiting in the future days. By the way it's only for one year. We can change rooms after the summer brake if we want."

"If?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow.

"Never know. Maybe our roommates are going to be so nice that we won't want to change rooms." smirked Hoseok. "We can always find new buddies."

"Doubt that."

"Jeon Jungkook! Try to see through that dark curtain of yours and be a little positive!" scolded the elder.

"He better be a quiet one or I'll flew him out of this huge window."

"Oh my! I'm so sorry you unknown boy somewhere out there. I really do." Hoseok said with putting his hands together and gazing at the ceiling.
