1 Fujian

Over the hills and beyond the seas stood one of the most prestigious and peaceful countries in the world. It was given the name "The kingdom of light" by the ancestors. It was said that when the world was created, the creator of the world shone light from the heavens on a little piece of land and the land became the great Fujian that we know till today.

People believed that Fujian was a special country as it was created in a different way from all the other countries. Fujian has faced no kind of war since it has been created as no country dares to attack the kingdom of light as they feared that the creator from above will come down and destroy the people trying to destroy his most precious country

Lu Mouxian, the second son of Lu Wei and the leader of Fujian in the year 945 was the greatest leader in history. Even though he was coronated at a young age because of his father's death, he still surpassed what his father has done for the country in just 7 years. Everyone liked Lu Mouxian being the leader and prayed that he would live a long life. Only one person didn't like the idea of Lu Mouxian being the leader.

It was Lu Youran, his very own older brother. He was to be the next leader after his father, but his father chose Lu Mouxian instead of him. Since that day, Lu Youran has had hatred for his younger brother. He plans to kill Lu Mouxian and become the leader as he believes that the throne belongs to him and no one else.

After many years of ruling Fujian, Lu Mouxian got married to the first daughter of the Ning family, Ning Xi and they had 2 daughters, Wang Jing and Wang li. Their names were given to them by their dead grandfather, who said that the name was given to him by his own father to pass it down to whomever he wants to. Lu Youran got married to Ying su, the daughter of the richest businessmen in Fujian, Zhang Wei and gave birth to a son, Ji Chen.

Mouxian's mother, Zhang Xiu Ying preferred Ji Chen over Wang Li and Wang Jing because she believed that male children are more superior, while the female children are treated as outcasts in their own family. Zhang Xiu Ying is certain that Ning Xi will not have a male child to become the next leader of Fujian after Lu mouxian, so she was prepared to make Ji Chen or Lu Youran the next leader.

Ning Xi became pregnant for the third time. And when Xiu Ying found out, she stormed into her room and ruthlessly pulled her hair and said to her. "if you have another daughter in this house, I will make sure all your daughter's are killed right in front of you and you will be banished from Fujian forever. So better pray and hope that this child is not a female child but a male child. Do you understand?" The terrified Ning Xi nodded in response and Xiu Ying let go of her hair and left her room.

Ning Xi sobbed and rubbed her belly " you'll be a boy right? No you have to be a boy to save your sisters lives and the lives of the people living in Fujian. If your uncle or your cousin becomes the next leader, this whole country will be in danger. The country will be a divided nation where the poor has no say and the rich are superior to the poor. You my child must be a boy to save this great nation from crumbling"

Three weeks later, Lu Mouxian was given a letter from an unknown person to attend a meeting with the leaders of the world. The letter seemed legit to him but Ning xi had some doubts "Mouxian, I don't think this letter is confidential as there is no seal from the United Nations head office" Mouxian laughed "I'm sure they just forgot to put the seal on this one and I called the ruler of Inour, Kim Namjoon to confirm and he said he got the same letter but his own had an official seal on it. Don't worry I'll be back as soon as I'm done with the meeting with the other leaders" He kissed her forehead and assured her that he'll be back soon, then he carried his belongings and stepped out of the room.

He was about to leave the house but a little hand was pulling on his garment. He turned around and saw that it was Wang Li. He smiled and picked her up, then Wang Jing came running towards her father and gave him a big hug. Seeing her father with a bag, Wang Li asked "Daddy where are you going to?" Mouxian chuckled "I'm off to have a meeting with the other leaders of the world"

Little Wang li didn't know what he meant so she looked at him with a confused look. "Daddy, what does a meeting mean?" he put her down and walked with them to the balcony. Wang Li whined "Daddy you didn't answer my question" Wang Jing answered "A meeting is when people come together to talk about something important." Mouxian was surprised at the fact that the quiet and shy Wang Jing knew the answer to little Wang Li's question. Mouxian and the children looked at the scenery around them, then he asked "What do you want me to bring back for you two and your mom when I return?" Wang Li looked at him in awe, then Wang Jing spoke said "Daddy, buy I and my sister sweets from Inour and buy new kimonos for mummy" He smiled with content and hugged them both, then bid them goodbyes.

Lu Youran was also meant to attend the meeting with the other leaders of the world with Lu mouxian, but he was no where to be seen. It was so strange that the person who was most excited for this day is no where to be found. The guards searched for him in his usual spots but they couldn't find him. Mouxian remembered how excited he was to go for the meeting, so he thought that Youran already left ahead of him.

He entered his carriage and bid his children and wife goodbye. Ning Xi was still a little worried about the strange letter so she said to him " stay safe and come back home safe. "He smiled at her and said "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Just take care of yourself and our three children." She looked down at her belly and smiled back at him. The carriage started moving then Wang li shouted "Daddy, don't forget the sweets and mummy's kimono!" He smiled at how cute she was and shouted back "Don't worry dear I won't." When the carriage was out of sight, they went back inside.

Mouxian heaved a sigh of relief and gave the letter to the coachman as the letter has the directions to the United Nations headquarters. "Ride safely please" he said, the coachman nodded in response. He closed his eyes and dozed off in a deep sleep as the carriage disappeared into the woods.
