10 Home Sweet Home

Alam sat silently in on the couch he had claimed was his.

I don't know why, but the house seemed to have picked up dust, lots of it.

I sat myself down on one of the dining room chairs.

The house seemed..... abandoned.

"My cottage......" I stared blankly at the ceiling that now had holes and spider webs scattered all over it.

"The gardens wilted" I said to no one in particular.

"Tell me Alam, did you lie?"

I heard the little boy's fist clench from the side where he sat.

"Did you lie when you said the time ran differently there?"

He remained silent.

"Did you lie when you said everything would remain here when I came back?"

He still remained silent.

"Did you lie when you said you didn't take me to heaven!"

I heard him gulp.

"Hey" I said as I looked down and stared him in the eye with nothing left in my soul.

"I am not sad nor angry, I am just wondering," I said tears welling in my eyes.

"Am I dead?"

Alam looked me dead in the eyes with dark blue iris that weren't 5e same when I first met him.

"No" he said with a dead cold seriousness that I neither liked nor hated.

"Can I ask you a question?" I said slowly.

He remained silent.

I took this as an invitation.

"What is Griseo Mundi really? Why did you take me there?" I said wiping away my tears with my bloodied sleeves.

Alam didn't answer for a moment, but then spoke.

"Griseo Mundi was a place my great-grandfather built a long time ago for lost souls who had suffered greatly."

"Fucking lies" I said covering my hiccups to make myself sound malicious... it didn't work.

I broke down.

Alam came up to pat my back.

I slapped his hand away.

"So what?! I am a lost soul?!" I said as I glared at Alam deeply with as much hate and betrayal as I could muster.

"Yes, you have been mistreated by your family and friends your entire life..... you wanted to die."

"Who said that shit!" I screamed at him as I stood up.

He stood up as tall as he could to face me.

"Why choose me out of all the suffering people in the world that have gone through this!" I choked.

"BECAUSE YOU CAME TO TJIS MOUNTAIN ALRIGHT!" Alam shouted back.

I stepped back.

This might have been the first time since I knew him that he has shouted at me.

"I don't know why you did it, but you choose my grandfathers mountain to live on!" He said with hate filled eyes.

I realized something.

A moment passed between us before I spoke again.

This time I whispered.

"This mountain, did you...... die here?"

Alam covered his mouth and the corners of his eyes tilted into a smile.

"Correct."

I guess that was it.

The last thing I heard was those words.

And then.... he was gone.
