1 Prologue

That was the moment when he fell in love with that girl. He was just trying to explore the forest area by himself and got lost. The time was also not on his side, it was evening.

The golden sun rays were also not helping because of the density of the foliage. The tall trees were making it more difficult to maneuver. He was new in this area, so he had no idea where to go for help either. He also did not know if this forest had any wild animals.

"No phone network either, huh?" he looked at his phone and sighed to himself. He sat down against a tree and started reflecting back on his decision to venture around in this forest by himself a few hours ago. Even though his dad had insisted that he took an aide with him, but his adventurer ass would not allow him to let his dad hurt his ego.

His dad's assistant had assured him that if he stayed within five miles of the school, he would not encounter anything dangerous. His smart watch on his hand showed he had only walked three miles away from the school, so he was fine.

Thinking over the same, he drifted off to sleep. By the time he woke up, his watch was showing him 9 pm. Everything was ultra quiet around him. Birds had returned to their homes, and it didn't seem there were very many animals here. But one couldn't be more careful. He tried hearing in the pin drop silence. Apart from occasional rustling of shrubs nearby, perhaps by some hare, he could also hear water running.

He walked towards the direction of the sound, careful of not disturbing any entity, lest it woke up some dangerous being in here. He walked and walked until he reached a clear area. What greeted him was a full moon, illuminating the locks of this fairy like girl, who was about to jump from a cliff to take a dip into the river beneath.

If it was in his hands and if he was artistic enough, he just wanted to paint her elegant movements, her naked body with her skin glistening in the scamp light. He was so mesmerized by the sight that he didn't notice that he himself was standing on the edge of another cliff facing the waterfall.

He put a foot forward, unfortunately, at the edge and fell down into the river from quite a great height. The river was deep and fast and he was still a beginner swimmer, so he could not come to the surface to float. Yet, when he thought he was about to be engulfed by the suffocation from water slowly filling inside his lungs, he felt someone grabbing him from his waist.

Next thing he knew, he was near a fire, his outer clothes hanging to dry. The girl was boiling some water. It was too dark to see her face but her crystal clear eyes were reflecting the fire. He would never forget those eyes. Her face was covered with a cloth, the girl surely wanted to hide her identity. Was she running away from something, or someone?

"Are you okay?" a melodious voice entered his ears, jolting him awake from his groggy state. Was this the fairy he had seen earlier?

"Yes. Thank you very much for saving my life," the boy spoke with gratitude.

"Don't think too much about it. I didn't want my secret spot to get sullied by a dead body. That's about it," she said, no emotion in her eyes.

Sweet voice but knife like words!

Wind blew strong, flying away the cloth on girl's mouth. However, the guy still could not see her face as she was facing the fire and he could only see her back.

"My name is Li Ming Hao. What is yours?" he tried initiating a proper conversation. Today, he would get her details so that he could find her later.

"You do not need to know," she replied without looking back and a hint of coldness in her voice. "This pot has a few herbs boiling. Drink this soup to keep yourself warm. If you keep following the trail behind, you will reach the building of a very famous college here. I will be taking my leave then," she stood up and dusted her loose frock that was now donning her perfect body.

Before he could persist in getting her information, she disappeared into thin air. Was she really not a human being? Was she a ninja? Or was she just a fragment of his imagination all along?

He rested a bit more before heading his own way.

*Girl, you must be a student at that college, and I happen to be the future master of that school. I will definitely find you.*
