17 Take me home

In the next morning, Amulius first left the room while Kwinpia is still heavily sleeping. He went to talk to Orc chief Langyako. While walking towards the Orc chief's longhouse, the bystanders are staring at him as if he's divine.

"I want the terms now." Amulius said to Langyako who was chopping meat.

"Wait there." Langyako was not any friendlier to him. Amulius couldn't understand why this orc is not treating him much better knowing that he's married to Kwinpia. A moment later, Langyako attended him.

"Free trade between Romavena and Gehlgica, open border, non-aggression, mutual defense treaty, share of labor force to Romans, cultural exchange, what more?" Orc chief Langyako enumerated to Amulius. His face is just blank while discussing terms, giving it a more an official meeting.

"I want information about this world. Political, geographical and culture." Amulius was direct to his additional demand. However, he was hoping to gain access to Gehlgica military. He wants authority to mobilize orc brutes.

"Deal. What do you plan next? " then the deal ended just like that. Amulius wrote two copies of the terms in Latin, Langyako also wrote two copies in Orcish language.

"Home." Amulius left the longhouse. He then directly instructed his men to pack up. He plans to go back to Romavena as soon as possible, he doesn't want to be away for long. "By your will, Imperator."

"Where are you going." Amulius' team was halted at the gate of the Orc fortress by Orc guards.

"Leaving, is there a problem?" Amulius answered to the Orc guard, Amulius is pissed that he's been halted. 'What is the meaning of this?'

"Wait for a while. I'll fetch your wife." The orc rushed to the fortress, leaving without waiting for Amulius' reaction.

"Oi oi! The girl can just stay, I have things to do!" Amulius shouted to the rushing orc, but the orc did not listen to him. Then, Amulius did not plan to stay any longer. He and his guards continued on their way, but this time they were blocked by a hundred Orcs.

"We admire your talents in fighting, but you cannot leave without taking your wife, our princess." The orcs who blocked them looked serious, Amulius' actually just plan to marry the orc princess to get a better deal, then leave her in the fortress. But it turns out, it's not going to be that easy.

"I want something in exchange!" Amulius said, since there is a new stipulation in their deal, their should be additional terms for him too.

"Agreed, follow me." Orc chief Langyako led Amulius to the Gehlgica tribe's treasury. The guards of Amulius was not allowed to follow since this involves going inside the treasury.

"Choose only three items. Don't try anything funny. Everything here is accounted for." Orc chief Langyako seemed to be aware of Amulius' spatial ring. As a chief known for being wise, it is given that he should be knowledgeable of stuffs of this world.

'Woah' Amulius' eyes was shining, he saw a lot of treasures in this treasury room. It includes lots of golds, weapons, gemstones, jewelries, scrolls and many more. Amulius guessed that these treasures are products of their nonstop pillaging.

"Feast your eyes, these are my treasures accumulated from various wars." Orc chief Langyako noticed that Amulius was amazed of his treasures.

As they walk deeper of the treasury room, Amulius noticed a big red orb. "What is that?" Amulius asked Langyako. "It's a surveillance orc, but no one knows how to use that here so we just stored it here." Amulius think for a while before giving his answer.

"Then, I want that as my first item." Langyako passed the orb to Amulius.

The next two item that Amulius took are a book of spell and a unique muscle cuirass. Amulius did not hide the fact that he have a Spatial ring since Langyako acts that he already knows it. Amulius stored those items to his spatial ring, although he did not have time to check the items inside his spatial ring since his acquisition of this item. Amulius and Langyako went out of the treasury room heading back to the gate of the fortress.

A moment later, orc princess Kwinpia arrived with loads of baggage. "Take me with you!" She did not know about the deal at all, thus she plead Amulius to take her. She was just notified that Amulius is leaving and that she needs to see him off. She quickly packs up her belongings in a huge basket to her back and a few sacks to her left and right arms. It was very quick that she did not properly arranged her stuffs in the basket and sack.

Amulius just stared at her while orc chief Langyako stared at him. "Take care of her, you know what will happen if you don't."

Kwinpia rushed to Amulius side while Amulius is just emotionless staring at her. 'This is the first girl that I had a interracial relationship.'

On their journey back to Romavena, Kwinpia never stops telling him stories about anything. When she noticed that Amulius is not in the mood to talk to her she meekly said, "That was my first you know.. It hurts at first, but I endured because I know you'll take responsibility." Her meek voice is cute but if you are both standing, it's not. Amulius just nods in agreement and smiled to Kwinpia. But this reaction of Amulius makes her happy.

'I know, she has a good face and a good body shape. She does not look like the orcs but she cannot be considered human. She is adorable, but I haven't adjusted to this yet. I suddenly got married and to a woman who is not human.' Amulius' mind is busy thinking of stuffs that are useless.

"We're here." Amulius said to Kwinpia. She was overjoyed to have left the fortress. Back in Gehlgica, she was not allowed to go out of the fortress. But this time, she is now living in another place with another race. This excites her and makes her more happy.

"Can I consider this home?" Kwinpia said, "Yes. Welcome home" Amulius responded. Kwinpia is very happy about it. Along the way, she can see a lot of unique buildings. The aqueduct leaves her with a strong impression that this town can already be considered a city. This place has a lot of potential than Gehlgica fortress.

The Romavena may still look underdeveloped because of a lot of wood houses, but there are also buildings made of bricks like the Curia and Regia. The Romavena is very busy with construction, commerce and lots of work.

As they walk further inside Romavena, Amulius feel uncomfortable walking with a girl who is 6 foot tall while he's just 5'7 ft., she is small for an Orc but she's too tall to be a human. The average height in Romavena is 5'7 for male and 5'5 for female. As soon as they arrive in Romavena, everyone was staring at them. Not to Amulius, but to Kwinpia who is not normal at all.

"Bring her to her room and show her around." Amulius instructed his maid as soon as they arrive in Regia.

After settling down his luggage, he set off to Curia. He needs the status report of the Senate. He knows its importance since their settlement can be considered to still be in its infancy. Others might see it as a city, but for Romans, its still a town because most of its buildings are still made of wood although the layout of the town is prepared to be a city.

"The Senate welcomes the Emperor" every Senator said in unison. Amulius then sat to his chair, "Town report".

"Senator Aulus reporting. During your absence, I proposed a reformed Calendar for Romavena. Please have a look." Aulus gave a parchment scroll to Amulius.
