14 From Legend

Master Seamus hurriedly said, "Look! Look!" He held up the glowing Rocky for all the masters to see. He excitedly continued, "It's glowing! I believe this is not a piece of marble at all! If we could find more of it, we may be able to light up the cities indefinitely! Imagine if we don't need to relight torches and candles!"

One of the masters was in deep thought and muttered, "It's possible."

Another master asked, "How could we even find more of it? Do you even know where its from?"

Master Seamus carelessly tossed Roland's letter for the masters to read and said, "It's from the prince. Perhaps if we ask, he'll be able to provide more?"

The masters nodded in agreement, "Alright. You will ask the Prince for more of this new material then. In the meantime, perhaps you will allow us to study it further?"

Master Seamus quickly tucked Rocky inside his robe as if his life depended on it. "No way! This is my research case! Go find your own!"

All of the masters' faces darkened and one of them said sternly, "You were the one that called us here and now you won't even let us take part in the research?"

Being ganged up by all the other masters, Master Seamus could only relent to their demands. With that agreement, the masters each took turns observing and tinkering with the glowing white Rocky. In the meantime, Master Seamus was crying in a corner while writing a letter to Prince Roland."

----------------------------------

2 days later, in Master Seamus' small lab, many gasps could be heard from the numerous masters inside. A few alchemist students outside snuck glances inside, trying to find out what caused such a reaction.

Inside the laboratory, Master Henry was in utter shock and was flabberghasted. "Th- this is-!"

Master Seamus was extremely awestruck as well and muttered, "A philosopher's stone."

What had happened was, right before their eyes, Rocky's physical evolution had been completed. The bright light glow was, in front of all the masters, dissipating at a pace easily seen by the naked eye. As soon as the glow faded, what remained was a large chunk of copper.

What was amazing, wasn't the fact that it was a piece of copper, but that this is the first time alchemists have seen a material be able to change itself into another.

A few master alchemists exchanged glances and nodded to each other. One of them asked all the alchemists present, "Do we send it back to the Prince? If it really is a philosopher's stone, we need the church to confirm. After all, the philosopher's stone originated from the Church's legends."

A few of the master alchemists nodded while Master Seamus said, "We should at least write a letter to the prince to extend the loan on Rocky for a while."

The master alchemists glanced at each other and agreed. It had been decided that Master Seamus was to include a request for a longer lease while the other master alchemists were to continue researching Rocky the next day.

That night, Rocky was still unconscious. Unbeknownst to everyone at the Alchemists Workshop, a cloaked figure snuck into Master Seamus' lab at night. The next morning, the master alchemists that walked into Master Seamus' lab was greeted by an empty box.
