3 Chapter 3: Short chapter

Peter purchased his new clothes and wore them as soon as he left the store. He had purchased a pair of leather gloves and a light grey hoodie. The new outfit made him seem a little suspicious but Peter knew it was better to be careful because he did not wish to hurt anyone. Peter was now brainstorming excuses to not attend school for a while; luckily it was Friday but that only bought him two days until he had to return and he was not going to risk it. He considered telling the truth but he cared a lot more about what his parents would think of him than he did about what others thought; Peter knew they loved him but he wanted to gauge their stance on mutants. After all, most people hear about mutants from the news, especially that one senator that really hates them. He'd never noticed before, but he now swiftly came to the conclusion the Senator Kelly is a dick.

Peter arrived home and was relieved to find it empty, his parents and sister were all off for work at the moment. Entering his own room, Peter turned on his computer and started scouring the internet for news about mutants; after a few minutes with barely any results, Peter decided to take a different approach. Pete had always been fairly smart, one of the smartest in his class actually, but his forte had always been math and anything to do with a computer. It took him less than a half hour to write a program to gather information about mutants and sort it by date. Letting the program do its thing, Peter turned off the monitor and moved himself to the bed to lay back and relax for a bit. As he lay there, he eased into a restful sleep and was greeted by nonsensical dreams about a bald guy in a wheelchair arguing with an old guy with a funny helmet.

**Westchester County, That night **

A middle-aged man in a wheelchair was below his mansion in the center of a spherical room of metal. His actions were practiced, as though he had done it a thousand times before. He oddly resembles one of the older men Peter saw in a dream shortly prior. The man finishes what he was doing after ten or so minutes and, after returning the odd instruments and tools he was using to their rightful position, he began to wheel himself out.

As the man exits the room, he pauses and thinks for a moment; before long, another man with black hair, sideburns, and a generally scruffy or grizzled countenance approaches.

"You called, Professor?"

The man in the chair looks towards the other and says,

"Logan, I've found a newly awakened mutant. They're Beta level, with potential for more and live quite close to here."

The man called Logan frowned and said

"So why call me here, Storm's a much better babysitter; let her handle it."

"Their presence closely resembles little Anna who you brought with you last month. I believe you would be interested in coming with us to invite them."
