2 Chapter 2

After Roxie had spent her time in her nook; she returned back to the front desk of the library and continued on her day at work in the library. It was about 3 in the afternoon and Roxie and Garrett were on their way back to their apartment building. At the same time Roxie and Garrett were discussing about their plans that evening.

"So what time are we supposed to meet up at Kyle's workplace again?" Garrett asked Roxie.

"According to Kyle; we are supposed to be at the pub around 5:30-6. Honestly I don't know why Cassie is so adamant on throwing me a going away party. It's not like I'm going to be gone for a immense amount of time. I'm just going to be gone for 3 months!" Roxie grumbled.

"Look just think about it this way: Cassie is not going to have her best friend and roommate with her for 3 months out of the year. That is something you girls have never done before and grant it we are happy that you are actually going forth to make your career of being an author a reality, but this a big change for the both of you." Garrett stated.

"Yeah, yeah; ok whatever you say Mr. Party Animal." Roxie said sarcastically as she was unlocking her apartment door.

"Hey, all I'm saying is just to let loose and have some fun." Garrett shouted. Roxie then giggled and walked into her apartment. Once Roxie entered the apartment; Cassie was sitting in the kitchen looking up some stuff on her laptop.

"Hey, you're home early today." Roxie said.

"Yeah; there wasn't that much business in the recording studio today so Carl let me off of work early today. How was your last day at the student library?" Cassie asked.

"It was alright; I guess, not that many people came in today."

"Did your co-workers throw you a little going away party?" Cassie teased.

"No; I wish, but Martha gave me a 'I heart NYU' mug with some candy." Roxie replied.

"Ohhh; is it ok if I get a piece?"

"By all means go for it. Though I should warn you the candy may be a little old." Roxie warned her.

"Ok never mind then," Cassie said. "Anyway was that Garrett that you were talking to in the hallway right now?" she asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"Oh, nothing I was just wondering what you guys were talking about that's all." Cassie replied.

"Ok, well what time are we supposed to be at the bar?" Roxie asked as she went to go put down her belongings in her bedroom.

"Kyle said that we had to be there around 6:30; why are you asking?"

"Oh, Garrett just wanted to know. You don't mind that I invited him do you?" Roxie asked.

"Usually I would say no, but he is going to be my co-worker in the next few days, so its fine by me," Cassie sighed. "Oh, my god; I totally knew this was going to happen again." She gasped.

"Let me guess; Nathan Hendrickson of Fifth Avenue Square was found drunk in a pub or club again." Roxie guessed.

"Yep and the story gets even more interesting; the London police caught him streaking in one of the neighborhoods by a pub and arrested him for disturbing the peace." Cassie pointed out.

"I swear; its guys like Nathan Hendrickson who are so immature and irresponsible that I find so annoying and I vow to stay far away from." Roxie stated.

"Speaking of guys; I'm surprised you're not glued to your phone right now. Don't you talk to what's his name right now?" Cassie teased.

"If you must know he had band practice the whole day today, so he's going to talk to me later." Roxie said. All of a sudden Roxie's cell phone started to buzz and a smile started to appear on Roxie's face.

"Gee; I wonder who that could be?" Cassie giggled. Roxie just laughed and went to her bedroom to read the message.

"Hello stranger; how has your day been?" the message said.

"It's been good; now that I'm talking to you Fifth Avenue Boy," Roxie replied. "How was your day?" she asked.

"It was long, but at least talking to you makes my day a whole lot better." Fifth Avenue Boy said. Roxie just laughed at the response.

"You are such a charmer you know that, right?"

"I know; at least my charm only works on you."

Roxie enjoyed her long conversations with Fifth Avenue Boy. Out of all the guys Roxie have ever met or dated; Roxie had never had a deep connection like she has grown with Fifth Avenue Boy. The two colleagues would talk for hours and hours about their life, dreams and just random stuff that has been on their mind. In fact, Fifth Avenue Boy was one of the many few people who has read Roxie's story and so far he was Roxie's biggest fan. Roxie even got to read some of the lyrics Fifth Avenue Boy has sent to her. To her surprise; Roxie had never met anyone who has been this talented as Fifth Avenue Boy. Roxie also has been wanting to meet Fifth Avenue Boy in person. For all she knew; Fifth Avenue Boy lived in London and once Fifth Avenue Boy found out that Roxie was going to London, he knew that this was the perfect opportunity for the two of them to finally meet each other in face to face. However; Roxie didn't tell Kyle, Garrett or Cassie about meeting Fifth Avenue Boy while she was on her trip to the UK.

"I can't believe in just two days I get to finally meet you in person." Roxie said.

"I can't believe it too; though my band mates think you are just some Internet robot."

"Yeah, no; I'm definitely real, trust me." Roxie laughed.

"Good, because you kind of scared me a bit there. So; what are your plans for tonight?" Fifth Avenue Boy asked her.

"Well, tonight is my little Bon Voyage party that I was talking to you about the other day and, I don't know why; but I really don't want to go to this party tonight."

"Really; how come?"

"I honestly don't know. I mean usually I'm ok with this type of situation, but lately with me dealing with packing and getting all of my stuff handled and situated for my trip I would rather stay here in my apartment and have a few drinks." Roxie explained.

"In other words, you would rather be relaxing at home than going out tonight with your friends?"

"Yeah, you pretty much read my mind," Roxie answered. Roxie then looked at her alarm clock and realized that it was almost an hour to the party. "Hey, I got to go get ready; same time tomorrow?" she asked.

"Sure; I'll be waiting." Fifth Avenue Boy replied back. Roxie then put down her cell phone and went to go get ready for her little party. In Roxie's mind; she was somewhat nervous about meeting Fifth Avenue Boy for the first time. She had heard the many stories of girls that were around the same age as her meeting people who would just poke fun at them. However, Roxie knew deep down in her heart that Fifth Avenue Boy would never do that to her. Every day; Roxie would picture in her head what Fifth Avenue Boy would look like. For all Roxie knew; Fifth Avenue Boy was in a band with three of his good friends and he had lived on the outer banks of London for pretty much his whole life. She imagined that he was this tall, edgy blonde-brunette 19 year old who didn't give a damn of what he was or what he was doing in life. Roxie admired those qualities about Fifth Avenue Boy. He was the only person who understood Roxie's difficulties and struggles of being an up and coming author. The problem was that the guy Roxie had been picturing in her head would be the one boy that she would never expect to have feelings for her.
