11 11. It’s all about mind control
"Now about that. You have to reign in your emotion and thats the only way for that fire to stop. I'll explain more about elements later if you don't understand"
I nodded. I exhale out loud, and close my eyes.
"Try to imagine you are walking around in a large room and then you'll see big ball of energy.."
My eyebrows wrinkled. Every time I try to imagine a room, I ended up standing in the middle of sea.
"Uhmm.. I'm standing in the middle of sea.."
"Sea?" I noted her surprised tone. But it didnt give it much thought since right now the sight in front of me way more interesting and striking. Really, I tried meditating before but its always empty and peaceful. Never really tried to imagine I'm in a room or somewhere in my head.
"What did you see?"
I bite my lips. I had a feeling that what I'm about to disclose might be a dangerous piece of information. From what I caught of her explanation before, this might close related to what I can do... do I trust her?
"Oh come on girl. How can I help you if I dont know whats your problem is?" Huffed the old lady.
"I saw fire pillar coming out from the sea. In fact,I saw thousands or more than that pillars on the sea.. not just fire.."
"Oh goddess!! You mean.. like earth, water-" I nodded.
It was quite scary and majestic in the same time. The whole sea was pierced by pillars to the limitless sky above. The sea waves was harsh and unforgiving. Like a storm. Even the sky was darken. But the oddest part was, only the pillars of fire glows.
I told her that.
"I understand. As I said,soon more will come. And that sea is definitely your storage. Which means, you won't have any problem of releasing huge scale of magick."
Why would I even do that?oh wait?cuz I was hunted. They wont stop for sure,and more will come. Now I know, why they had come to take my head off. But sheesh. I'm was not going to disturb them , i mean i dont even know about the existence. Not one week ago, no. not when I know nothing about them. But since they had started this...
I open my eyes, seeing the old lady mulling about something. She slap my hand -my good hand without fire-and told me to close my eyes back.
" I've told you. Reign in the fire. you see that fire.. slowly imagine it getting dimmer and dimmer until its not glowing anymore."
I got it right the first time and i can finally feel at ease. no more feeling the urge to strangle someone alive, or any pent up anger in me. I wouldn't want that since its completely foreign feeling for me.
Not a fan of it, at all.
"Now, you need proper training or you might burn the whole town with that power of yours"
"I, is there any way to.. you know to lock this power or to take it back?" I love magic but seeing it and making it is two different things. I wanted to enjoy researching it not being pulled in and becoming a slave to it. That was my first time losing control and it gave me a fright.
The old granny look at me like I had grown three eyes. I unconsciously touch my forehead and brush it. Checking it, Just in case. You never know, I just had my hand on fire a while ago. Growing another eye doesn't seems too far stretch.
"Girl, its a gift that meant for you! How can you say such blasphemy!" Exclaimed the old lady.
Blasphemy? Woah. Hold your horses there.
"From where I come from magic is blasphemy. Though I never think too much or care about stuff like superstition but this..." I waved my hand to myself "is definitely a walking and talking chaos incarnate. I dont like power that'll bound me to anything but rational and peaceful mind"
"Which is why you need to practice and reign it in! Taking it away will risk you own life force. Locking it means, you'll build up the residue and blow up, literally like a ticking bomb"
I sigh and rubs my temple. The lists of choices presented in front of me is not really great. I don't know why, but I got a feeling that the moment I had all of these under control, a new path to chaotic life will be pushed in front of me. And I will never live a quiet, peaceful life again. But what choice do I have?
