Chapter #1

It's a sunny afternoon today. I've been driving my kids and I from Kansas to Florida for about 5 hours now. So I have another 16 hours left till I eventually get there. My son Jason is always on his phone, staring at it without even looking for one second. It creeps me out sometimes when I think about it. My six-year-old daughter Lisa is sleeping soundly on top of her teddy bear. And that is something I like to see as she has gets cranky when she's in the truck. Like most people I get bored at times, so I reach out to the radio and switch between the radio channels. I stop when I hear a song that is called "Danger Zone". As the music progresses I increase the speed on my truck while the adrenaline goes through my veins. I can drive as fast as I wish because there's no speed limit on the highway. While driving I see something peculiar from afar, as I get closer I can make out that it appears to be a man in motorcycling gear with a helmet on crossing the road. I try stopping my truck but I was going too fast that I could not control my speed. I close my eyes hoping that I didn't hit the person. My eyes are closed with my foot on the brakes. Suddenly I hear a noise that goes BANG! on the hood of my truck. I open my eyes to see my windscreen broken, and hear my kids screaming loudly. I calm my kids down and step out of my truck. I see the person on the road who is most likely dead. I opened his helmet and I see that the young man is perfectly fine. I try waking him up my slapping his face left and right. But he didn't wake up. This time I slapped him harder and he woke up. I ask him if we was alright. And he replied "Heck yeah man? What happened?". I said that nothing was going on. I offer him a ride in my truck but as I'm talking to him his eyes and his face gets green. His body started getting bigger and looked like a zombie! I walk backwards as I am overwhelmed over his odd transformation. He leaps to me to bite me. I choke him trying to stop him from biting me as he forces his mouth towards my shoulder. I headbutt him and start fighting him. I land a right hook on his stomach and a tight uppercut on his chin. But we was way too strong to be stopped. I run away trying get a distance so I can reach out to my left pocket to take out my gun. I take my gun out and attempt shooting at him while he sprints towards me. Bullet by bullet I shot, each one missing it's mark. I run toward my truck to get my shotgun. I stop to grab hold of his helmet that's on the floor and throw it at him. I finally get to my truck. I take the shotgun and I shoot at him. And there's my victory. I celebrate and spit on his dead body as I take my cigar out and smoke away while putting my sunglasses on. I turn around and see an entire horde of zombies. I walk up my truck and tell my kids to lock the doors and duck down. I run towards the horde of zombies with the shotgun in my hand and a cigar in my mouth, filled the bravery I collected from killing the zombie earlier. They too run toward me as I shoot away. I kept shooting until I realized that I ran out of ammunition. They all leap towards me. I use my shotgun as a baseball bat, hitting them hard seeing their teeth getting smashed like glass. I start to feel tired and slow down as they were slowly gaining on me. My son Jason shakes his fear off and comes out of the car with his baseball bat. And comes to my aid. He smacks them all away and helps me to get up. I tell Jason to start the truck while I hold them off. He drives the car towards the zombies and runs them over. I get in the car and take the drivers seat. I open my dashboard and shoot at the remaining zombies as I quickly drive off. And finally, we got away. I wipe my shirt that it is filled with blood. "Are you okay, daddy?" my daughter Lisa asked. "Yes princess, I'm all good." I replied. I smile and suddenly hundreds of jets and helicopters flying around dropping missiles everywhere. I speed up trying to get as far away from it as possible. I kept driving until there were no jets around. I look at my fuel tank and see that I'm running out of fuel. I search for the closest gas station. I get to the gas station and see that it is empty. I refill my gas and tell my children to take as much food they want. Jason takes all the energy drinks, chips and buns while Lisa takes chocolate, toys and, gummies. We head back to the truck and see many people coming up to us with angry faces. We rush to the car and drive off! They throw beer bottles at our truck as we drive away but the gas station blew up because of the fire from the bottle. Jason looks at the burning gas station while eating his chips and sipping on his energy drink. "So long suckers!" says my daughter Lisa while she shows her tongue. I take a look on my side mirror and see a over a hundred zombies sprinting towards my car. Then....
