1 Reborn

"Heavy title I know. You might wonder where this title comes from. Let me tell you my little journey."

In the plains of Agara, a tiny worthless bug was scurrying from it's most hated enemies. The Agaran Hell Beatle.

"Horrible things those beetle. They kill anything and everything smaller than them... Wouldn't be so bad, if only they weren't two meters in height alone..."

The plains on this deserted land were unbearable. The harsh solar winds scraping its surface daily. Forcing life to adapt and overcome extreme conditions. The Agaran plains was a dead land. One which no life but only the sturdiest of all live.

"Well, more precisely lived. Let me introduce myself before we get back to the deadlands."

Penta, a man whose everyday life on modern Earth was to go to work and come home and hate said work. Short stature, long black hair. A face that had a certain charm which made it somewhat pleasing and heavy stacks of unhealthy habits.

"I drank, did bad things, never hurt anyone, aside from my very self really... haha, a little pathetic I know."

Escape from reality had led him astray. The world revolved and he, unfortunately, continued with it, Until one final day. The world for him stopped.

The sirens and the yellow tape securing the alley gave way to unrest among the neighbors. The whispering and the masses of police made the quiet evening into an unforgettable one.

"Officer Lars, what happened here?" A tomboy..man, a tom man looking female office asked while looking over the report in her hands.

"Oh Officer Kelly, it was an assault and robbery. An unfortunate victim was shot in the conflict. A man by the names of Penta nog. 24 years old foreign male who works...worked at the local internet cafe. The robber was caught and arrested but the victim of the original robbery was the ex to the dead one. We're trying to confirm what happened and so she is in custody being taken to the station."

"Understood, I will go in for the questioning considering it's wrapped up here," Kelly responded and left.

'She really is a female giant...' Lars thought before chuckling and returning to work.

-A few hours later at the station-

Kelly was sipping a hot mug of coffee while Lars walked into the office where two desks lay with Kelly manning one. Laying his hat, he took another cup and started pouring himself some coffee.

" What did the suspect say?" Lars asked while mixing some sugar into his cup.

Kelly looked up at him and just sighed.

"Our little dead Penta was the 'unfortunate' guy we thought."

Taking a pause before continuing.

" He got caught due to being an idiot. Miss peaches over there, had stolen his external hard drive after a fight between them. He tried recovering it quickly and had an argument in the alley. Our little robber came in shortly after and tried to steal from them considering they seemed easy prey. "

With the story gaining interest, Lars asked her " And then what?"

" That's the crazy part, civilians are getting crazy. Penta told him he could have everything as long as he got his external hard drive. Seeing the robber didn't believe him. He reached for the gun and got shot while the girl called the police. She told us she might have scratched him when forensics showed up to back herself up."

Kelly stopped as she took another sip of her coffee.

"Damn, little lunatic wasn't he? A fight with the ex too? What the hell was on the hard drive?" Lars asked intrigued about the root cause of all this.

" She and he lost their good feelings after some incidents and things went south, relationships sigh. As for the hard drive. See for yourself, he damaged it dying but we caught a few things that weren't destroyed," Kelly said while turning her computer monitor towards Lars.

"Oh my... what the fuck is this!?"

-In void like white space-

"Where am I?" A blob of mixed energy in the shape of a ball floated as it asked.

" Yeah, right. I'm dead. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. My external hard drive! Fuck."

"SILENCE!"

A deep chilling voice boomed as Penta cursed.

"What the hell? Who is it!?" Penta asked while secretly wondering if that was a god.

" You foolish mortal, look at the state of your soul! How sad." The voice said again but in a milder, more indifferent tone."

' The fuck you mean what did I do to my soul? It's mine isn't it? The hell you mean what did I do. It looks majestic you peasant.'

"Uh, I didn't know what I was doing?" Penta said.

"Hmpff, foolish. You believe you can hide your petty thoughts from me?"

'A shit.'

" Mortal, I stand at the frontier of souls and you have one of the most unsightly ones I have seen. I have seen evil souls from your land but at least they were still human souls. Yet yours is just covered in filth and by the way, I know what was in that hard drive." The voice seemed to disdain further with that remark.

"Shut your mouth about that hard drive! This soul is mine and I did what I could and lived that mundane life of utter crap. It is not your place to judge me and my morals you bastard!"

Rage overtook Penta's soul as he turned into a slightly red ball.

'Unbelievable, you die and the first thing you see is some uppity judgemental prick. Heavens, kill me again. I'll try my luck on the third chance."

" Pathetic, you infected your soul with such muddy waters. As the one guard of this frontier. Let me be the one to send you to where you belong, filthy creature." The voice once again boomed with anger this time as the space in this void was fluctuating.

"Let's wipe your memories as well. A beast doesn't deserve such anyways." The voice decreed as the fluctuations took on a pure glow.

"Wait memories!? The hell you do! THIS IS MY SOUL! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT HAPPENS TO IT! "

The glow suddenly strengthened as though it was provoked. Amidst the fluctuating space, echoes of Penta were still heard.

"YOU ARE THE FILTH YOU FILTHY PEASANT, I DO NOT RELINQUISH MY MEMORIES!"

Those were Penta's final words as he felt his soul disappear and go through a blur. His last shred of will trying to remain as he felt his soul was invaded by an unknown force bent on erasing his memories.

As his unwillingness grew seeing some memory fragments that were mixed into him be scattered into oblivion.

As time was ticking, his unwillingness finally saw a speck of hope.

His soul's memory fragments were connected to him and as such he grabbed as much as he could and dived into the one place he thought was safe.

He dived into the parts of him considered filth by that voice. Penta had lost all belief that it was a god. Simply a powerful being with a ripe old c*nt.

He had this part of him within himself. He also noticed that the energy from that being was barely hurting this part of him.

-Back in the void-

"Disgusting. You hid, vile thing." A large being that radiated a pure glow scoffed. The scoff echoed through the halls of beautiful white marble palace.

"Oh what might have you seen, Nite?" A beautiful woman with a saintly disposition walked in as she asked with a playful smile that could shatter planets from its beauty. She looked at the man who seemed to be upset and sat near him as he was looking over a screen inscribed with formations that showed the white void.

"Neela, I found another one of those being tainted by primal desire. This one more heavily than others." The man named Nite spoke.

" Oh, primal desire? I wonder which. So what became of him?" The beauty named Neela inquired with a raised eyebrow.

" As I do with the rest, filth so be with filth. Little disgusting thing hid his memories from me by bringing his conscience into the filth." Nite said still a little unresigned that one as powerful as he couldn't finish the job.

Neela looked at him and sighed.

" The heavens will always leave a way out for those unwilling to enter the cycle forcibly. You know that it's due to "It", even the Heavens listen to "It's" will.

"Sigh, I know which is why I didn't destroy his soul entirely. I'd rather not go beyond my station at this point."

- Continent of Destitution-

On a plain covered by a lingering aura of destitution. One that made even the word "barren" sound pleasant.

The plains of Agara was the name of this horrible place of death.

On it, a small hole opened in space and a seemingly purple and white blob was shot out. The fluctuating powers didn't stop there and immediately send Penta into the ground.

In a hole deep in the ground was a nest of the most common critter that could survive these harsh lands.

The Agaran cockroach.

Inside its nest was a small patch of tiny little white eggs with the only odd one being a mix of white and purple. It looked diseased.

'This motherf***er, if I don't come after you then I shall call my very self filth but don't worry, I will find a way to destroy your arrogance.'

The other eggs felt a chill.
