Final day of the sniper and a new problem

Several teams are now are staking out multiple areas for the sniper. One of their own was dead and they didn’t care about who was supposed to do what. Finally the order had been given, every man was on the lookout for a tall, skinny man with a pony tail, a scar on his cheek and a large briefcase. Zackiria checked the academy, noticing several students were out. He did his own special training, giving the rest some time off. The sniper climbs some stairs to a perch and sets up his gun, he can see a few of the teams of police men on the street. He snickers at them but looks for a different target. He searches but doesn’t see the man who took a shot at him the other day. He’s been trained well. The sniper searched the streets. He needed someone bigger, more important than a police officer. He saw news vans setting up. Perfect, a well-respected reporter will do, let him be the news instead of just reporting it. Kevin, who is standing with Ryan, trying to look like they’re just getting a cup of coffee, looks up and sees a twinkle. Kevin points it out to Ryan who takes out a mini scope and confirms it’s a riffle barrel. They approach the building, briskly walking instead of running so they wouldn’t draw attention. Ryan calls, informing every one of their location. They get in the building and take the elevator up most of the way and go to take the stairs the rest, one on each end of the building. Kevin stopped mid-way, clearly wanting to wait for the back-up. Ryan radioed again and asked that all exits be blocked. More officers were working their way up. Kevin makes it to the top floor first and starts to sneak forward. He hears the gun go off and his eyes go wide. Kevin looks into a room and sees the guy quickly disassembling the gun and start to get up. Kevin remains by the doorway and waits for him. He tries to swallow down the fear. As the gunman steps through, Kevin takes his legs from behind and twists them around. The man screamed as he tried to reach for a knife when a gun was put in his face and he was told to freeze. Ryan reads him his rights and slaps the cuffs on him, he lets Kevin keep the leg lock on him a while and kicks him in the face. Much later a celebration at the police house, Jack pats Ryan on the back and reluctantly shakes hands with a very high strung and ecstatic Kevin Marcus, as stupid as it was they did catch the sniper. Jack would interview who they now knew as Henry Michale Wallace and let him know that the reporter he shot at recovered in hospital and would be fine. Mayor Bobby D was there rather quickly and gives the men commendations and gets a photo opp.

At Rising Star, much later, Kevin comes to Zackiria’s desk and makes it clear. “You will never send any one of us to take out a big time criminal ever again. You want us to fight lowlifes. I am down with that, but we will NOT go out of our league again, you hear me?” Zackiria sat back “You know, I never specifically told you to do any of that. You were never meant to try to take this individual out yourself and yet you did. But yes, you will most definitely stay away from the high class criminals.” Kevin was a little dumbstruck but at least there was an agreement. He started to leave “You know...” Zackiria said, Kevin waited at the door but didn’t turn back “You all still need to train hard. One day you might not have the luxury to say ‘I don’t want to fight, this is out of my league.’” Kevin turned, he stood looking at the man. He didn’t know what to think but he knew, he was definitely going to give it everything he had. Not for Zackiria, but for himself. One day he would be a world class fighter like his hero Tang Namamoto. He would do whatever he had to too get there.

It had been two months since Zackiria made his deal with Joseph Alexander and a little over one month since the take down of the sniper known as Henry Michale Wallace. The Rising Star had taken down one mid-level gang in the meantime. Now, in a drug den in a basement of a deserted building, the door crashes open. Jason Bryers, an average looking thirty something with brown hair and some tattoos, swoops in and snatches a gun away from the guard. Three others come in right behind Jason with guns of their own. They fire upon would-be attackers until everyone has their hands up. A dark man comes out of a closed room with a gun, when he sees four pointed back at him, he puts his weapon down. “Are you in charge here?” Jason askes. “Yes, I am. What…” “Are you in charge here?” Jason askes again. “No…You are.” “That’s right. My boys and I are taking over.” One of Jason’s men suddenly yells out “Yeah, the Elite Four is in charge now.” Jason’s eyes slowly go wide and he looks back at the guy. He could tell the drug boss, Dylan, was smiling and found this name funny. “What?” Jason said to the one who called out “What?” he said back “There’s four of us, we’re elite, Elite Four.” The other two look at him, somewhat approvingly “I like it.” “Sound’s good to me.” they say “We are not calling ourselves that.” Jason yells out. “Why not?” says the one who thought of the name. Jason puts his hand to his head with irritation and turns back to Dylan “Because there’s going to be more man power.” “As if I would join you.” he says “We’ll see.”
