10 Chapter 10: Allies or Enemies?

Connecting the drone wings to her baby monitor (she had established a security system and the monitor was needed) and flew it into the room. Son of a muffin. A team of Vega were attacking, completely overpowering her friends. Rose used her newfound leopard form, surprising them. The other's weren't much help, as only Sam was physical and the team was experienced and trained. He couldn't hit them, they were too fast. Suzuki was changing into different long range poisonous animals, but she herself was caught up in a battle with the leader, a snake hybrid. Ella bit her lip. I can climb up through the window and shoot. I had my lasers and I have my ropes. Ella had been working on her weapon arsenal ever since she had started warming up to her friends. Ella put on her gloves and took out her sunglasses. She had been working on these for months now, but before she didn't have access to high tech like in Suzuki's home. Ella adjusted her glasses.

"I just hope they work," she whispered. Ella had modified the glasses so the frame opened up little holes that shot lasers. Suzuki had helped her a bit, but had quickly gotten confused with all the parts and blueprints. Ella chuckled. It had been pretty funny when Suzuki slammed down her foot and stomped out of the room. But it wasn't the time for that. Ella tiptoed to the room next to the gym and drilled a tiny hole in the wall. Peeking through her hole, she activated the sunglasses. An array of lasers popped through the wall, hitting her enemies with pin point accuracy. At first, her friends were confused. But as soon as they realized the lasers were a result of technology and not abilities, they smiled and gave a subtle thumbs up in Ella's direction. Unfortunately, they were not the only ones who recognized her position.

"Behind the wall! Knock them out!"

In an instant, a lion woman and wolf man came up to the wall and started drilling a hole in it. Ella did not realize this as her hole only gave her a limited view. She continued sniping the enemy and only saw her attackers once it was too late.

"We found you..." A screechy laugh came from the mouth of the lion woman. Just as she was about to attack, Ella stopped her.

"Wait a second, if you're a lion why is your voice so high and raspy?" Ella started.

"That's the opposite of what they're supposed to sound like." Suzuki finished. The two then went on a rant about how many octaves a lion's voice was supposed to be. The attacking group was dumbfounded.

"Wait. Before we continue this fight, we need to know who you are. It's entirely possible this is a misunderstanding," said a black and orange striped guy who was waving his hands. "Are you guys part of V.inc?"

"No, we aren't!" exclaimed Rose, who had transformed back into her hybrid form.

"They kidnapped my parents," added Ella. 5

The tiger man and lion woman glanced at each other. "Oh."

"Well, my name is Aito," said a boy who looked like a mermaid. "The woman with lion features is Malamalama, and the tiger dude is Ruyal."

Sam shot a look at Oak. "You just attacked us... How are we supposed to trust you?"

Ruyal frowned. "Well... How can we make it up to you."

The group heard a ringing laugh from the back of the gym. "You guys are the weirdest people I've ever met." Kiep was giggling. "First you attack people you don't know and then you want to be our friends? I'm sorry, we're going to have to ask you to leave. Not because we don't trust you but because we are kind of in the middle of training."

Malamalama pursed her lips. "Again, we're very sorry. If you need to contact us here's my number." She handed Suzuki a piece of paper.

Suzuki nodded her thanks and the hybrids and their followers went out the way they came. Once they left, Suzi started muttering something about bills and reconstruction of walls. She was obviously pissed about how her gym had been ripped apart.

"That's around $7,000 worth of damage! My beautiful wood floor..."

Kiep akwardly patted Suzi on the back while she made a few phone calls to repair her gym. She was arguing with someone on the phone.

"At most it would be 5,000!" Fibber, Ella mouthed to Rose. She nodded. "5,000 and I'll provide the workers with food and they can use the utilities in the house. Great. I'll see you then."

Once the call ended Suzuki pumped her fist.

"They're doing it for 5,000. I'm a business genius!"

Rose huffed. "How come you can transform into everything? That's not fair!"

Suzi laughed. "Completely unrelated topic, but okay. Remember, you are blessed with cat features. Ella doesn't have any abilities, remember?'

"No need to rub it in," Ella muttered.

Kiep's mouth twitched upwards. "Let's go home."
