17 The Fifth Prince (1)

The man nodded his head as he raised his free index finger and waved it, "You know what, I am a professional in that." His voice's tone became playful, and his brown eyes glinted; he urged the two to lean in. Even though they were hesitant, they followed him. "This is a secret. I sneaked out from the palace. And I am a prince!"

Song Yuna did not expect what she heard.

A prince?

She looked at the handsome but drunk nobleman in front of her. If she were to think of it, well, there was a slight chance of him being one.

But why on Earth would they even listen to a drunkard?

Isn't ignoring him the best thing they could do?

Well, yes, but that idea did not seem like a good one for Min. He had something else in his mind. Yuna could not understand him, but she would definitely just go with the flow since she had no idea how this world would work.

"Young sir," Min spoke; his deep and raspy voice was pleasing for Yuna's ears. She could listen to it all day long. "We have been working for two years at the palace's kitchen but we have not heard about the prince staying out late at night and drinking to the point of being unable to walk properly!"

"I told you I am a prince!" The nobleman slash self-proclaimed prince told the two, furrowing his brows as he blinked while doing his best to focus his eyes on them. "Why are the two of you spinning! In the name of King Geon, my father, I command you to stop spinning."

'This man is going crazy,' Yuna commented as she could not help herself but smirk at the sight of the self-proclaimed prince.

All of a sudden, the man was laughing.

"Everything stopped spinning when I mentioned the name of the king," His back was still arched, and he stood up in a weird position. "Don't you guys believe me now?! I am Prince Won, the fifth prince of this Kingdom!"

"Yes, yes," Min bobbed his head up and down. "We believe the power of the King and the prince of this kingdom!" He bent his upper body slightly and met gaze with the so-called prince. "I am afraid we might have to go before we found out that we left our posts, young sir."

Min and Yuna started walking in any direction they could see, just so that they could stay away from this drunk nobleman who claimed to be a prince.

"Where are you going?" The prince who claimed to be named Won yelled.

Yuna just wanted to put a bandage on his mouth so that he could stop calling out or yelling at them. But then again, bandages did not exist in this era, so Yuna thought about tying a rope in between his mouth to stop him from yapping nonsense.

The two of them tried to evade the drunkard, but alas, they could never. The self-proclaimed prince started to shout at them, "You imbecile! How dare you try to ignore the prince of this kingdom?!"

Instead of running to flee this madman, Min was the one who ran like a madman towards the self-proclaimed prince, befriending the prince like was just one of them.

Min put his right arm on the man's shoulder, "Young sir. I believe that we are not ignoring you, who happened to be the prince of this wonderful kingdom."

The prince was having a hard time focusing on Min that he was already squinting his eyes. "Are you acting like we are close now?"

"No, sir, I think you really are the prince but we would like to enter the palace without getting caught." Min said, trying his best to make a deal to the drunkard prince. "And I think you are the perfect person that would be able to guide us!"

A smirk plastered on the self-proclaimed face as he raised his thick brows. He laughed like a happy kid who felt delighted when he felt like he was needed and asked for help.

A narcisisstic person.

"Why did you not ask sooner?" Prince Won was now laughing evilly. Min grasped the moment to let go of him and let him guide the two of them. "I already told you I am Prince Won, the fifth prince of the Goguryeo kingdom! I love to sneak out of the palace, drink a lot, play with women, and come to the palace late at night--"

Yuna took this time to approach Min and stood beside him, and whispered, "Are you sure that it's okay to follow his lead?"

"We do not have any choice, lady," Min answered. "And besides, there is a chance that this long-haired nobleman is speaking the truth."

"—you two!" Prince Won suddenly stood up straight as if he was already sober. He extended his arms and called us over, "I will make sure that the two of you will arrive the kitchen palace safely! Okay?"

"Yes, Prince Won," Yuna innocently. Answered

Well, she had no choice but to follow what that self-proclaimed prince said because he had already entrusted herself to Min. She knew that Min would never betray and lie to her.

Before they could even start to walk, Min held her wrist to stop her from walking. His eyebrows drew together, and there was an unidentified look on his face, "You know that we are just lying to the prince here and things could go wrong,"

Yuna nodded and listened to Min intently, and she could see a bead of sweat trickling down from his temples.

It did not seem like this is going to be easy for them.

"If ever it does, I want you to immediately cut ties with me and tell the officials that we do not know each other,"

Yuna seemed confused, and she did not like the idea either, "Why?"

"You just need to focus on going to the statue of the White Tiger, Song Yuna," Min explained to her as he lowered his voice.

"No, I want you to be safe, Min," Yuna's voice trembled as she felt like it was already the two of them exchanging their last goodbyes with each other. For some reason, she wanted to see Rin one last time.

"I know that you wanted to go back to your own world. Just do not worry about me and I will handle the rest."
