Angelic push

Standing at the very edge of a rooftop was a frail-looking girl with a will to end her pathetic life. Her hair and clothes swayed along with the gentle breeze blowing every now and then.

With a hand clutched in front of her chest, her eyes stared down at the plain-looking ground a great distance from the rooftop. One could see the fear in her eyes and notice how her body shook timidly.

She was scared alright. But she would rather be dead than let that fear tie her to the ill-treatment from her family and society.

With each breath Eli took, memories of her unending pain flashed through her mind. She didn't want to continue living that nightmarish reality.

"I'm sick of it. I want to end it all right now," she mumbled to herself.

But just as her mind was getting her set for the jump, she noticed a... As she peered downward, she saw a faint figure, a smoke moving towards her, seemingly trying to get to her.

"What are you doing?" The creature asked.

The sudden appearance of this ghost-like creature startled her into silence. She believed her mind was playing tricks on her; why else would she see ghosts outside the dungeon?

The creature smiled, and smoke started forming a humanoid figure that started flying toward her faster.

"D-Don't come any closer." She yelled and tried stepping back but realized there was no footing behind her. She froze on the spot. "Oh no..."

The apparition stopped in front of her and seemed amused by her words.

"Poor little Eli..." The creature started speaking; a massive, monstrous grin replaced his smile. "What a pathetic move you're planning." The creature pointed at the rooftop's edge and then looked at her. "Do it. Jump."

The moment the creature told her to jump, her body felt shivers. She felt reluctant before, but now she began to fear death. She gazed down, and her body froze in spot.

"I will die..."

She took a deep breath. Her vision blurred as tears started forming. She wanted to scream, but she couldn't. Thinking about her crappy life made her sick to her stomach.

"Isn't this what you wanted, though?" The ghost looked down at the rooftop and smirked.

Eli's eyes widened when she heard those words. She turned around to look at the creature and found him looking at her and smiling, almost like he was enjoying her plight. It confused her even more.

"W-Who are you?" She asked, tears streaming down her face.

"A friend," The creature replied. "One who was waiting for your arrival for eons."

"Friend my ass!" She yelled out. "What kind of friend would mock me in this situation?!" She turned away from the creature, turned her back against it, and started walking towards the roof's edge.

The ghost grabbed her by the shoulder just as she was about to jump.

"Oh, but I am not here to mock you! Hehe!~" it said as its claws grew longer and dug into Eli's skin. From its claws, mana poured into Eli's veins, and moved through her body.

"I am here to make a deal with you! " It said as he dug its claws into her neck. Tears trickled down her face. She strained to raise her head, but the pressure on her throat was too much. Eli tried to reach for its arms, but she straddled Eli. She tried to scream, but nothing came out.

"Don't worry; it's a good thing. A very good thing~" He whispered.

"What... What the hell is going on right now?!" She yelled out. "What do you want?!"

"Heehee! Why don't you try and figure it out?" The ghost said as it removed claws from her neck. Then, it gently pushed her off the building.

"W-what?" She exclaimed in surprise and then fell backward. She didn't even scream; she could only watch as the ground got closer each moment.

"DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?!" she heard the ghost's voice inside her head.

"Y-Yes! I want to live!" She shouted. Her voice was full of regrets and sorrows.

"Then say that you accept me." It was demanding. "Say that you accept me!"

"I accept you! I accept you!"

Suddenly, a pair of white feathered wings appeared behind Eli's back and stopped the fall. They flapped slowly, but each flap moved her further away from the ground.

"W-What is going on?!" She stuttered and tried to touch the feathers, but they disappeared when she touched them.

"Now that you've accepted me. Be prepared for ..." Ghost said something, but its voice disappeared before it could finish the sentence.

The wings brought Eli back to the top of the building and disappeared. Only a few white feathers remained as proof of what happened. She touched the feather, but it quickly turned to dust.

"Where I got myself into?" She knelt, wondering about the ghost. "W-Was that a demon?! Did I make a deal with the devil?! Maybe a god?!" Countless thoughts went through her head. But each new question gave birth to another ten questions.

"I... Should I do it again?" She wondered as she looked down the rooftop. 'M-Maybe not.' She took a step back. Yet again, her legs were shaking; her head became dizzy. She wanted to stop herself, yet she couldn't.

"Go ahead." She heard a voice, and it came from nowhere. "Jump!" And again, she felt a push on her back.

"Not again!" She fell off the building, and wings appeared as she almost reached the ground and stopped her fall.

"Is this actually happening?" She breathed in shock, her eyes wide with wonder as she watched the ground sink further away beneath her as the wings lifted her to soar around the building she had just fallen from. "I... I can fly..." She murmured. Then, louder, "I can fly!" She shouted with delight.

The ghost looked at her with a grin. Soon the ghost began to acquire some hue, and two sets of large wings manifested from its back. She appeared to be a beautiful woman dressed in black leather clothing with metal wires on her arms and wearing black boots. Her hair was a dark shade of purple, and her eyes shone like red orbs with a white aura surrounding them.

"Took you long enough to realize your power..." she muttered with a smirk.

"I wish you luck, my dear Eli." her red eyes glowed menacingly as she tilted her head with a wide smirk. "In this life, you shall spread even more chaos than your previous one!"
