(02) The Beta

Today was the day June 3rd, 2039, the day the beta for the brand-new game "Rise Of Dragons" would be released to 100,000 people across the world. "Rise of Dragons" was a Fantasy VRMMO set in a post-apocalypse version of earth. On this day Me, Jack, and Ella spent the whole day refreshing our emails to see if we were accepted into the beta. At exactly 3:00 Pm the "Silver Dragon Corporation" sent out 100,000 emails to 100,000 different people.

In the bedroom of one Tony Oliver 3 teenagers sat refreshing and waiting to see if they had gotten into the beta. At 3:00 Pm the teens had almost given up when Ella saw it, an email from "Silver Dragon Corp" in that moment the two boys also refreshed to find a copy of the email in their inboxes. The email they all received read, "Congratulations, you have been accepted to the beta of Rise of Dragons. As you know to stop alt accounts, we will be linking your mind and body directly to your account with a small nerve implant into your spine, to get the implant please report to your nearest Silver Dragon Corporation shop." Based on what the letter said the three teens went down the road to a "Silver Dragon Corp" shop, upon arriving they showed the person at the counter the email that they had received. In the store the teens were taken to a back room and given an anesthetic to help with the pain as a device was attached to their nervous system at the base of their necks, after 2 hours of recovery they were allowed to return home. Upon returning to Tony's house the trio could now wait to test out their brand new game so they plugged in the power and activated their implants.
