32 Eccentric Blue Monk

Darkscale was pretty pissed.

This stupid human first baited him with some story about a sect and some precious herb and now she was trying to use that information to force him to behave like she wanted.

He didn't appreciate that. Was she completely stupid? Can't she see that he was the one in power there? Plus, he didn't understand why she was looking at him with those strange freaked up eyes.

The woman before him wore a disappointed and shocked expression on her face, almost saying that at the sole mention of cultivation with her, he should have completely changed his idea and obeyed.

In truth, Darkscale was a bit curious about the Dual Cultivation Technique: it had been a while since he knew of the existence of cultivation techniques that required the use of other people.

He actually received the Slave Mark Technique to prepare himself to use them.

The Cursed Blood owner, the King that he saw in his Dreams, also used such techniques so they had to be something useful. He was certain about this.

He really wanted to get the Dual Technique, but not submitting to the human's will. He would never do that. He could take it from her with force. Who cares if she was willing or not? He just needed to keep her alive until she gave up the technique.

His cruel eyes scanned the area around him, examining the situation with more attention: the woman was still kneeling, her face a mix of surprise and disappointment. Her chest went up and down rapidly, and Darkscale could smell the fear that was being secreted by her body.

"Pathetic" he judged inwardly.

The serpent's gaze moved over. First, controlling the runes that held his hard earned prey, ensuring that they were working correctly. Under the stern scrutiny of his eyes, countless silver chains were moving around Godermo, keeping him down. He wasn't done screaming furiously but now, he had countless silver filaments on his face and that only allowed a continuous muffled sound to emerge from beneath them.

Then, there were the survivors. Most of them were Forest Will Tribe people, the common people gripping random objects like weapons and the hunters keeping their giant Green Bows ready to fire.

There were also a couple of injured raiders from the Fire Earth Tribe that didn't manage to run away because they were seriously wounded or were stopped by Forest Will people.

All of those humans were now concentrated on him. Darkscale felt their gazes on his body, the fear and tension that they give off on the air. It was a very strange, pleasurable smell, that of fear.

Darkscale was pretty pleased with the atmosphere around the battleground. Every one of those humans seemed to be terrified by his presence. He almost wanted to toss back his head and start laughing maniacally at that spectacle.

However, his good mood didn't last long.

"Please, Great Devil... you can have me, but leave the Forest Will people alone" Star Leaf stubbornly exclaimed. Darkscale rolled his eyes at the umpteenth attempt of the green haired girl.

She almost seemed unable to process his refusal.

"Annoying!" he screamed inwardly.

"I have no use of her. Even if there weren't any other females remaining, I could still use Winter Leaf for the dual cultivation..." considered the snake, already deciding to get rid of the green haired human once he got the manual for dual cultivation from her.

Pouting, he brought back his gaze on the woman kneeling before him. She was covered in dirt and blood, even if not a single drop of it seemed to be hers. The fear in her eyes was covered by a vague sense of pride and stubbornness, almost as she was fighting against something that she couldn't accept.

Darkscale wasn't impressed by her courage. He found her adamant desire on wanting to sacrifice herself incredibly stupid. "Not giving up the information yet? You know what? I'm starting the killing right now!" announced by the serpent, eyeing cruelly the Forest Will people behind Star Leaf.

He targeted a man with a wound on his face: the other humans, especially the young ones, were all gathered near him. Probably he was some kind of leader of some sort. Darkscale's instinct immediately detected him as the most dangerous between the humans.

"Here we go..." laughed inwardly by the snake. He could already hear the screams of horror from those stupid bipeds. Glorious!

"

Master! They could be usef–" Carelia interjected, trying to stop him.

"Oh enough! I don't need all these humans! I already have one! Plus, the energy reserves are very low, aren't they?" Darkscale responded, very unhappy by the constant habit that the MAID had on stopping him when he was getting some fun. "Yes, but..." the artificial intelligence tried to say something.

"No buts! You bothered me for weeks with this story of low energy remaining, now I'm resolving it!" said stubbornly the snake, shaking his head.

"Master Darkscale, did you forgot what we talked about ... the kingdom talk..." Carelia reminded him.

"I didn't", Darkscale answered immediately.

He really didn't. He knew that those people could be turned into his servant with the slave mark, but now he had a different idea in his mind: he wanted that cultivation technique and he didn't like it when people disrespected him. The green haired human needed to be punished and she visibly cared about those other humans, so he would break her will by killing them one after the other until she gave him what he wanted.

"Master... there are other ways, this is very wasteful", Carelia lamented.

"l already made my decision. Let's stop it there" ordered finally the serpent, his tone firm. The MAID didn't respond, but she didn't continue to bother him either.

"Spare them please!" Star Leaf continued begging.

"Why should I?", Darkscale laughed, cruelly looking at those moronic humans around him. Why would he want to spare them? they wouldn't spare him if the roles were reserved. He knew it because it had happened to him not long ago. He knew exactly what those seemingly harmless hunters would do if they had a choice: they would follow him even in the darkest night, trying to catch him and take away his life.

Star Leaf trembled when she heard the cruel laughter of the serpent echo in her mind. Her eyes tearing, she even mustered enough courage to move forward, trying to hug him. " I already said that I'm willing to become your daoist partner!" she cried loudly again.

"Who the fuck wants you as a partner? You disgusting human." Darkscale screamed internally, a disgusted look appearing in his eyes as he darted away, avoiding the human.

"Mph, I already gave you too much time!" hissed the serpent, rage burning in his eyes. Without further ado, he flashed toward the Forest Will hunter that he previously selected.

He moved fast as the wind, appearing suddenly near the unprepared man. His fangs, almost closing on the man's neck. Almost.

"Evil Being! Stop right there" exclaimed of a powerful voice, echoing all around the Wood Forest with the might of a falling thunder. Darkscale felt a deep sensation of danger overpower him. An incredible force pushed him back, making his bite snap on nothing and propelling his body on the side of a ruined wooden wagon.

"Who?" asked the confused reptile, getting up from the crash, his body still hurting from the hit that he took. The snake rotated his cultivation base, readying himself to a fight. His violet eyes scanned the area around himself to localize from where came the attack, but he couldn't find anything.

He wasn't the only one: all the people present were looking around trying to localize who had the gall to attack the cruel devil.

" Judgment is coming, Sinful soul!" shouted a grave voice coming from the moonless dark skies.

Many sets of eyes pointed themselves on the air, widening in shock shortly after.

In the middle of the dark skies, there was a strange figure walking on nothing! It was a man, or at least he had a man's external aspect.

This new, strange player was moving down from the sky, falling towards the ground like a shooting star. His body was surrounded by blue ripples that distorted the air around him, as if they were burning the darkness that covered the Blood Woods.

These ripples emanated a shining azure light, that was the only thing that allowed him to be seen. Not only did the strange blue light made him easy to spot in the darkness, from the ground, he looked like a human that someone had placed inside a trembling blue flame torch.

"What the hell!" Darkscale was left without words when the figure came near enough that his powerful senses could examine him in more detail.

He definitely wasn't human, even if he could pass as one of them from distance.

"Carelia, what's that?" wondered Darkscale.

Nothing answered the snake. He tried again, but the MAID remained in silence even after countless others attempts to communicate.

In the meanwhile, the flying person was already close enough to be seen clearly even by the humans. They immediately started to back down, looking frightened by the strange creature that appeared so abruptly.

That was understandable, the flying figure was very strange: it had blue skin carved with countless strange symbols; two spiral-formed horns at the back of its head, protruding from the two holes of the large monk hooded robe that he was wearing; plus, there was something very strange about the long beard that grew on his chin. It was plaited with strange blue rings, but there was something weird about it that nobody could put a finger on.

"Evil being! Repent!" order again the flying blue-clad creature, suddenly stopping right in the air between Darkscale and the human group that he attacked.
