Defend the Glade First Wave

For the first time since coming to Luma, Hollow rested. He had a few hours until the event began and needed to be ready for it.

He reviewed his stat sheet and prepared. He practiced some magic and attempted to finalize his pointed Mana Ball into a sharper object however he was still unable to do so. He also started practicing trying to dual-wield. Sadly it did not come as naturally as it did to Stella.

"Found you" someone yelled. Looking up he saw the person he had been thinking about. Stella had arrived and she had changed a bit.

He was pretty surprised to see that she had an Inferior Epic class. "Congratulations on your class," he told her.

"You are the first person I know that can see classes. How do you do that?" She asked.

"I'm not quite sure," Hollow responded, "Due to an achievement I have a fancy analyze skill"

"Why am I not surprised," Stella said while shaking her head. Her long black hair flowed in the wind, "You always have the fancy stuff. I still can't make heads or tails of what you did to my gear."

Smirking Hollow responded, "It's just some low-level runes"

"Runes" She responded, "You're crazy to call these low-leveled? They increase my strength by so much. They are amazing!"

"We should get ready, it begins soon" Hollow responded, "see you on the other side"

Hollow and Stella stood up and approached the front line that had been set up. People gathered in makeshift shelters and homes. The air was stale with fear. Hollow assumed that there had been another meeting with a much less positive tone. He didn't really care either way. It was time to hunt monsters!

As the timer counted down to zero everyone received a notification.

This was quickly followed up by a horde of monsters coming out of the forest. There were Wolves, Geko, and turtles with levels anywhere from 6-15.

Thinking quickly, Hollow decides to save his more powerful skills for later and use low cooldown skills for the weaklings. His [Veteran Slash] had no cost and was his best tool for mass clearing.

Hollow targeted the highest leveled creatures.

A new notification erupted that Hollow had missed before.

As the first wave started to end Hollow finally had an opportunity to check his notifications. As one of the few people able to consistently solo kill monsters, he had received quite the reward. He had killed nearly 40 monsters.

Quite Surprised with his race options and running out of time before the next wave. Hollow quickly though. I have always been getting error messages about an affinity since the beginning. However it is my affinity, so it should be fine. It doesn't really matter. I just need power.

Someone asked, "Hey are you ok?"

He was cut off by Hollow collapsing to the floor and grunting in pain. People moved away in surprise.

As he grunted on the floor he finally managed to stand up. He had changed completely. He had grown nearly another half foot not standing at a tremendous 6'5''. His brown hair had melted away, replaced by dark black hair. His skin had turned to an unnatural black color. A deep dark color that could only be found in the deepest of abysses. His brown eyes had inverted, and the iris now became a tiny nebula of stars. Shaking his head, Hollow was surprised to find a new side effect of his change. He could see in the dark. The shadows were not clear to him.

Hollow looked around. There were corpses disappearing everywhere. Many were monsters but you could see the remains of humans dotted around. Not having any more time to think. Hollow readied himself for the next wave.
