CHAPTER 29: TOURNAMENT CONTINUES (5)

After the brief episode of the spectating powerhouses unleashing their auras, the tournament continued swiftly. And anticlimactically, Victoria's last opponent surrendered, so she qualified for the next round without a hitch.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day arrived with the usual tournament atmosphere and excitement and the 64 remaining contestants were ready to try and qualify for the round of 16.

"Hold on so you mean that you can meditate on your aquafire and it'll strengthen both your fire and water, so you're getting twice the results with half the effort." Gideon said incredulously as Victoria told him something she figured out. Aquafire was also what she decided to name her new element.

"Yeah, it's weird, at first I would absorb fire and water astral energy and fuse them before putting it into my aquafire. But then yesterday I suddenly felt that I could absorb both of them at the same time, and when I did, it automatically fused into the aquafire." Victoria explained causing Gideon to look up in desolation.

'What am I even doing here?' He thought with a sigh confusing Victoria. Suddenly her watch vibrated causing her to get up.

"Gotta go." She said as she opened the door.

" Yeah, good luck." Gideon responded before vanishing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Victoria walked unto the arena, but unlike it's previous self, it was now a massive circle that had an area for each element. There was a mini volcano surrounded by fire, a small river running through the whole arena, a small hill with all sorts of ores and rocks, an area with mist, an area with a small cloud that constantly struck the ground, an area that was filled with ice and snow, an area filled with poisonous plants, an area that was just pitch black and finally an area that was pure white.

Apart from that, the remaining 64 contestants lined up near the entrance with eager expressions on their faces.

"Alright everybody, we've successfully finished the preliminary stages and will now begin the battle royale shortly. This time the rules are fairly simple. There just needs to be 16 contestants that are conscious and can still fight. If you get knocked out or are unable to fight, you'll be covered by a barrier and taken out of the arena to be treated." The commentator explained and everyone nodded, these rules were simpler to understand other than the previous ones.

(Waaaay simpler)

"Now, the contestants are required to go to the areas that supports their respective elements and wait for the countdown." The commentator said and everybody did as instructed while Victoria went to the part of the small river that passed by the small volcano.

"3... 2... 1 Go." The moment the countdown ended, Victoria had her guard up for any potential enemies, but what happened next stunned her.

"Everyone, we can all agree that Victoria Kingston is probably the strongest person here, so how about we all gang up on her and take her down first." Someone in the wind area suddenly shouted causing everyone to stiffen up.

Gideon frowned upon hearing this. One against 63, sounds damn near impossible.

And to his dismay, people actually began to show signs of compliance. The crowd anxiously waited to see those who would agree while Victoria gritted her teeth in anger.

"COWARDS, ALL OF YOU. YOU WANNA GANG UP ON ME? COME SO THAT I CAN BEAT YOU ALL UP." Victoria's voice was heard loud and clear which enraged majority of the contestants causing them to make their decision.

"How arrogant, she really thinks she can defeat all of us." One said.

"Yeah, just because she can use two elements doesn't mean she's different from us." Another shouted.

"YEAH X7" The majority of the contestant seemed to reach an agreement as over forty of them started to head in her direction.

"Fine then." Victoria muttered under her breath.

"I guess I can go all out." As she said the, she got sight of the numerous contestants who very quickly surrounded her.

"How about just surrendering." One of them said but Victoria kept silent, her head was facing down so no one could see her eyes.

"Hey, we're all geniuses as well! We won't show you mercy just because of your background. Besides you're surrounded by us." Another one shouted in annoyance at her silence.

"Heh." Victoria laughed and everyone suddenly had an ominous feeling.

"I'm not surrounded by you." She looked up, but now one of her eyes were fiery red.

"You're surrounded by me!" Victoria stomped her foot on the floor and a ring of fire erupted and swept outwards causing the other contestants to defend themselves.

But as they were defending, Victoria suddenly bursted outwards with speed and in an instant, she reach two contestants and punched outwards.

*BANG BANG*

Her fire and water covered fists easily broke through the barriers that had yet to recover from the previous attacks and hit the two in their faces, immediately knocking them out. At the same time, a barrier covered their bodies and took them to the entrance.

Victoria suddenly ducked down as a wind blade and lightning bolt flew over her head. But put of nowhere, the floor softened and her feet immediately sank inside before the ground solidified again.

Then, two people one covered in light and the other darkness appeared in front of her and punched outwards while numerous attacks rained at her back.

At this moment, time seemed to slow down and Victoria felt anger bubble up from within her. Even though she had an easy going personality, the fact remained that she was treated as a prodigy since birth, so she still had a certain level of pride.

'To loose to these cowards.' Her eyes suddenly turned purple.

"THINK AGAIN." She suddenly shouted as a purple radiance erupted from her body and spread outwards, and to everyone's shock, all the attacks that were behind that got touched by the radiance suddenly began to turn purple and seemed to get eaten away before disappearing.

"Huh?" The light and dark users in front of her exclaimed before trying to retreat from the light and prevent it from touching their bodies.

"Where do you think you're going!?!" Victoria's voice was heard as she suddenly appeared in front of them and punched outwards with both fists that were covered in aquafire.

The two hastily put up barriers but like a hot knife cutting through butter, her fists pretty much ignored the defence and hit them both in their stomachs.

*BANG BANG*

The two of them coughed up blood and we're sent flying.

You might be wondering, if water and fire fuse, shouldn't the effect just be the same as using the two in tandem? Wrong. Because fusion the two is the same as fusing the fundamental principles that make up the two, creating a higher and more powerful concept.

In the VIP booth, all the powerhouses stood up in absolute shock when Victoria had her outburst and her parents were no exception.

"What is this? it's giving me the feeling of fire and water, but different?!? This girl. D- did she fuse the two!?!" Conrad asked in horror as he ft his worldview shatter, and the others felt the same. She had fused two elements together, and these two elements were literally opposites. One could only imagine what it was capable of.

Victoria's hair floated upwards as she looked at the other contestants disdainfully and gave off the aura of an empress. Domineering.

"Now, who's next?"
