76 76. Negotiation with grandfather

Patriarch wanted to argue a little regarding the outrageous price, but he knew why the price was 1000 high-tier mana crystals. Everything was setup by that brat and he fell right into his trap.

Patriarch just sighed and take out a storage ring and handed it to Freya.

"Here this has 1000 high-tier mana crystals, now ask that brat to come out"

"Alright sir one minute, please take a seat there while I verify the amount" said Freya as she started counting the mana crystals.. one by one.

In the middle patriarch couldn't take it anymore and screamed

"Can you hurry it up?!"

"Ah! sir you scared me. Yes I will go as fast as I can! Umm... sir what was the count again?"

"..."

"I am so sorry sir, let me recount it, it wouldn't take long."

Freya then again started counting from 1 at the same speed, but this time patriarch didn't disturb her.

After taking her time counting, Freya said

"Ah sir I think I miscounted, I only counted 999 mana crystals, let me redo the count"

Patriarch was shaking with anger, before he could say anything other elder handed over 1 more mana crystal.

"It should be okay now right"

"Ah yes, but what if I counted wrong?" asked Freya worriedly.

"Don't worry, in that case you can just count this as tip" said elder.

"Alright then, please wait here while I call doctor Andy"

Then Freya went to get Andy and after a minute he arrived at the reception.

"Dear grandfather, I wasn't hoping to see you again so soon. Freya can you bring some tea for me and these gentlemen here?"

"Yes master right away!" said Freya and went to get some tea.

"Alright let's begin, your 5 minutes start now, how may I help you?" asked Andy

"Skip the acting, what is it that you want for healing the youngsters of my family?" said patriarch.

"What do you mean dear grandfather, I don't understand? Did something happen to the youngsters of your family?"

"You still want to play this game?"

"What game are you talking about dear grandfather, I really don't understand. Can you please tell me what the problem is? Your 30 seconds are already over in these riddles."

When they came in, elders of Arden family setup a recording device stealthy so that if they could get some sort of confession, then they will immediately have the upper hand. But it seems Andy wasn't going to fall for their trick so easily.

Patriarch then sighed and said

"Haah fine you win.." then patriarch explained the whole situation to Andy.

"That is so sad to hear dear grandfather. I wish I could do something about it, but I have all these patients waiting in the queue so I have to go as your 5 minutes are up. I am confident that top-tier potion can help in this case, or you can wait for headmistress to come back from her vacation, or lastly you can get in the queue then I will heal the patients from Arden family when it is your turn."

"What do you mean by that?! I already paid you 1000 high-tier mana crystals to heal the youngsters of my family!"

"Grandfather I think you got it wrong, that money was for 'consultation only' which I already provided you, even though it took slightly more than 5 min. It is there in the rules documents of this clinic which is there on reception desk, didn't you read it?" asked Andy innocently.

Patriarch then turned his head towards the reception desk and saw there were some documents lying there. He then took in a deep breadth to try and calm down but his body was still shaking in anger.

"Fine, what would it take-"

But before patriarch could finish his words, Freya came back and said

"Here is your tea doctor, here I brought some for the guests as well" Freya then handed one cup to each person.

"What I was sayi-" once again patriarch tried to speak up but Freya scolded him

"This is the tea break for doctor, no one is allowed to disturb him during this time, it is clearly mentioned in the rules document of this clinic, didn't you read it? If you keep breaking the rules, we will have no other choice but to report this incident to the royal family."

Then everyone calmly drank their tea without saying anything, after 5 min finally Andy's cup was finally empty.. but Freya came with a kettle and re-filled his cup. After taking another sip Andy asked

"Can I get some snacks to go with the tea Freya?"

"Right away doctor" said Freya and went to get some snacks.

Patriarch stood up from his chair and went to the reception desk and picked up the rules documents. There was one rule in it for tea break which lasts for.. 15 minutes.

Patriarch then came back to his seat and waited for another 10 minutes. As an owner of a building one had the right to set the rules for his place, if there was a rule which was too excessive then others could file a complaint to royal family, but it takes weeks if not months to get it resolved. And these were legit rules for a workplace anyway.

After the tea break was officially over Andy said

"Sorry you were saying something grandfather?"

"What will it take for you to heal the patients of my family?" patriarch asked in a defeated tone.

"Hmm well, if you want priority treatment for your family's patients then I could agree to it on certain terms"

"What are they?"

"First, my family which includes my mother, my sister, myself and any of our future descendent will not be a part of your Arden family in anyway and will not be bound by any of your family's rules. As a result you will have to return the fine of 1000 high-tier mana crystals, we will not be paying any taxes to Arden family in any form and your family will never bother us again."

"Done" although patriarch was salty about additional 1000 high-tier mana crystals he had to pay, but he had no other choice.

"Whoever the tall person who came to my clinic yesterday with threatening notice and called my father 'filthy commoner' tell me about his direct family"

Patriarch then explained about that person's family.

"Alright here is my second condition, that person's wife and daughter will work in a house in red light district for 1 year, and that person will be the manager of that house accepting payments from customers and advertising the merchandise of the house. It will be Arden family's responsibility to make sure the business goes well."

"This.." said one of the elder and looked at the patriarch who was gritting his teeth in anger. This would basically destroy the reputation of their family.

"Fine I agree! Anything else?!" said patriarch in anger.

"Yes my last condition is, your Arden family will register with my clinic and will pay 50% taxes on all your family's profits to my clinic on monthly basis."

Patriarch then stood up from his chair and roared

"Impossible!"
