Landing in California

Brett was already at the jet with his suitcase, as he had arrived early. Ambrose gave him a light wave to which he nodded.

When Ambrose and his siblings got closer to the jet he asked, "Have you spoken to Simon, he's late."

"Mhm, I've spoken to him already. It seems like his parents are taking this too seriously and are stuffing him with suitcases." Brett said as he remembered the conversation he had with Simon the day before.

"HAHAHA! Clara, it seems like you won't be the only one looking like a hoarder." Darren said fearlessly as he had a provocative smile on his face while he stared at his twin.

Clara looked a bit scary at this moment as a few veins had protruded on her forehead, "What the fuck did you say to me, Darren?"

"I said... it seems you won't be the on-" Darren's words were cut off as he felt the air heating up around him and white flames surrounding his sister's body.

'Oh shit!' Darren thought as he hurriedly coated his own body with his dark blue flames, preparing for impact.

"Knock it off." Ambrose's cool and commanding voice dispersed the heated and tense atmosphere in a second.

"Humph!" Clara pouted and turned her head away, while Darren had a sheepish smile on his face and shrugged his shoulders.

Ambrose soon heard the sound of a car engine and immediately picked up Simon's scent from within, "Simon's here."

Simon, who had a beet red face was being coddled by his mother and father as soon as they got out of the car. Not only that, but they also forced him to bring an enormous amount of unnecessary stuff because they were worried about him.

"Ha... HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Brett tried to hold back his laughter after seeing Simon in 'distress', but he eventually couldn't help himself from bursting out in laughter after more observation.

Simon looked like they shy, new student at school as he walked over while not being able to look anyone in the eye because of the embarrassment.

"Let's not waste anymore time, where's the pilot Brett?" Ambrose asked impatiently. He just

Wanted to get into the air already. After all, he hadn't flown once in his life.

Seeing Ambrose's patience wearing thin, Brett quickly called a certain number on his phone and hung up within a few seconds, "The pilot is meeting us here in just a few moments."

"Good." Ambrose said as he closed his eyes and sat on his suitcase.

Just like Brett said, the pilot came over within 10 minutes. He was a normal looking middle aged man, his temples were slightly gray and his face showed some wrinkles. His body was skinny and even slightly muscular which showed he worked out often and maintained his health well.

The jet was owned by Mr. Peterson's company so it was quite easy to get and the pilot often was the one flying it. When the pilot got the call that he was flying a bunch of kids out to California, he was stunned but he didn't question it as he was directly contacted by the CEO.

The one thing that bothered him though was the fact that the CEO told him many times over the phone to treat the young man named Ambrose with great respect. He couldn't understand why the CEO had been so serious about this and he thought that the CEO was just overreacting, until he met the young man named Ambrose in person.

The pilot had seen and interacted with many people in his life because of his job, but he would never forget Ambrose until the day he died. When he first got close to the group, he could immediately feel that they were extraordinary among the people he had met, but one stood far above the rest.

The young man was simply sitting in a relaxed manner with his eyes closed and could possibly be mistaken to be sleeping, but the way he carried himself, even the smallest of actions oozed confidence and superiority. It was not confidence that came from external things like political power or wealth but confidence that came from his very being.

The pilot stiffened up immediately as he saw the young man open his eyes slowly and look in his direction, 'This feeling! I've only felt this in the presence of the CEO! No, this is something much greater!'

"Are you the pilot?" A nonchalant voice snapped him out of his thoughts, the young man was now standing a few feet from him.

"Y-Yes, you must be Mr. Zirel I presume?" The pilot stuttered a bit but quickly regained his composure.

"Is the jet ready to takeoff? We don't want to waste anymore time."

"Yes, the jet was completely prepped an hour ago, let me open the stairs for you!" The pilot enthusiastically said and scurried into the cockpit to open up the stairs.

BEEP!

The stairs unfolded and the group quickly boarded.

After securing their luggage they arranged seating. Ambrose sat by himself and the rest decided to group up and sit in twos.

[ATTENTION PASSENGERS. THE JET WILL BE LIFTING OFF IN 10 MINUTES.]

The pilot's voices sounded from the loudspeaker and Ambrose smiled contently. It seemed like the 6 hour flight would begin shortly.

Soon, the jet took off. It was a little bumpy at the beginning but it smoothed out after awhile.

Ambrose went to sleep within 20 minutes so that someone would wake him up when they were about to land.

Simon played mobile games and so did the rest of them. It turned out that Simon was a master convincer, he got the three to play with him within minutes.

The 6 hours passed quickly for the teens. By the time any of them realized it, they were almost landing in California or more specifically, LA.

"Ambrose wake up." Clara called out.

"Hmm?" Ambrose lazily stretched him arms upwards and his bones made thunderous cracking sounds.

He opened his eyes and looked out the window at the unfamiliar city in front of him.

"I guess we're really here." Ambrose said to himself.

"Yeah lazy. Let's grab our shit, we're landing soon." Darren chimed in.

Soon the jet landed, signaling a new adventure and trial for the group.
