10 IT'S A TRAP

It was finally time, everyone was gathered at the capital again.

This time almost all those that could make it in two days' time came, more people showed up for the ceremony than the kings' coronation.

All around you could hear talk about who was gonna be chosen as the new pope, everyone could already guess that the king would become the pope since the followers said he had the most faith.

It wasn't surprising for the king to also be the pope since some kingdoms and empires are controlled by their church.

This time the ceremony was going to be done at the place again, it turned out that the church was actually destroyed a few years ago due to the anger of a couple of citzens.

No one did anything about it since there really wasn't any reason for the church to exist.

So, in the end, the ceremony was going to happen at the palace again.

In the front of the castle, you could see the more influential people in the kingdom, and in the back, you could see the poor of the poor that were lucky enough to get the chance to quickly come for the ceremony.

They were all here to become followers of Genos after hearing the amazing benefits, so far people had concluded that you would definitely get stronger and appear more beautiful.

There was also the rumor from some of the water magicians that became followers that their magic had actually increased.

But no one believed them of course since they themselves couldn't feel it.

Still, that created even more rumors and hype for becoming a follower.

While all of the civilians were in a happy mood, those in more influential positions couldn't help but feel worried.

Some of them could feel that the atmosphere was a bit wrong, there was also the fact that they were all told to gather in front of the palace with the excuse that they were all very important to the country.

Umer, Perc, Tiods, and Ceos could especially feel that something was wrong today, they were actually dragged here and were told that they weren't allowed to leave.

Tiod had actually tried to secretly escape but was caught by a guard and brought back.

Seeing this some of the influential people couldn't help but get worried.

"It's over for us," Ceos said in a voice filled with defeat.

"What do you mean 'it's over for us?'," Perc asked with distress all over his face.

"Haven't you noticed whos gathered here at the front," Ceos replied

Hearing this those around Perc looked around for a while before finally figuring it out.

It actually wasn't that hard to find what Ceos were talking about, in front of the castle were the most corrupt people in the whole kingdom.

Somehow all of them were all gathered here in front of the castle isolated from everyone else with guards to keep watch.

"FUCK ITS A TRAP!" Perc screamed out.

It didn't take long for all those at the front of the palace to figure out what was going on.

After all of them knew each other since they had done favors and business deals with each other over the last 30 years.

immediately they all started running in all directions trying to escape, they could all tell that this was a trap and if they didn't escape something would definitely happen to them.

Unfortunately for them, before even one could escape they found themselves surrounded on all sides by soldiers.

There was one individual who tried to attack a soldier, but before he could even reach him his head was cut off.

The soldiers had strict instructions of what to do and if any of the corrupt officials tried to resist and attacked, they were allowed to kill them then and there with no mercy.

When they heard this some of them couldn't help but feel excited its had been so long since a change had happened in the kingdom, and this blood-sucking of officials were always making trouble everywhere.

Even though the officials made a commotion no one really cared about it.

Because right now everyone was looking at the top of the place at the person who had just appeared.

The King had appeared and behind him were the nobles and officials of the kingdom.
