1 Prologue

At an early age, King Johnson realized that life wasn't as simple and easy as most adults proclaimed, or maybe it was just not for him at the very least.

It may seem a bit exaggerated at first but when you realize that his first moment after being born was his mother dying while he was in her arms you may see why he would believe that almost his entire life after that was spent in the orphanage from a month old child until he became a young adult and initially those were some of the greatest days of his life, until his 4th birthday when he found out his father was alive only to in the next second hear that he died while serving in the military and they could not find any other close relatives aside from him.

Around two years later the orphanage got a new shipment of gaming consoles and this is where King found his first and maybe only love gaming it was a Bintendo 64 with Buper Bario Bros and Bonkey Bong and he would play it until Mother Olivia made him get off, although he would always try to sneak back on after dark to inevitably be caught he wouldn't stop until he eventually got away with it.

However something that had blindsided him completely happened in his own words he would say " it hit him like a wrecking ball" transpired 6 years after getting all those gaming consoles delivered to the orphanage Casey had arrived at the orphanage she was 12 years old the same age as King when they met they felt a sort of connection that was indescribable at first they thought they were just attracted to each others physical traits, King had caramel skin, grey eyes, and curly black hair if you ignored his apparel which normally consisted of a graphic tee and jeans he had the face of a model he was often vetted to do so when he was out and about but always declined vehemently preferring to game instead, but for once he was happy that his looks seemed to have a use. Casey, on the other hand, had an olive skin tone, green eyes, and long brown hair nearing her buttocks to King it looked and felt like an angel had been delivered to his doorstep.

"Hey my name is King, did it hurt?" He asked

"Did what hurt?" she replied

"I just was wondering if it hurt when you fell from heaven?" He asked

"That's the first time I've heard that one, haha wouldn't you normally ask someone their name first before hitting on them," She said while giggling and slightly blushing

"Sorry, It's my first time speaking to an angel so I was a bit nervous, what's your name?" He asked

"Haha smooth my name is Casey, I'll be in your care from now on," She said with a slight curtsy

"Glad to hear it the pleasure is all mine I hope to live up to your heavenly expectations," He said returning it with a slight bow.

That was the start of what would soon become his second love after gaming to which he did not believe he could live without either at that point, they began going to school together which surprised him at first because it was a k-12 private school he was there on scholarship and so was she, he was both excited and nervous simultaneously because he got to see her all the time at both school and the orphanage not knowing whether it would be a positive or a negative but surprisingly the dynamic worked better than he expected only she wasn't a big of a fan of gaming as he was she was a lot more studious, he had no problem with that however because school always came easy to him.

Time was spent between the orphanage school and occasionally any part-time jobs that would hire King over the years because he wanted to not only help the orphanage but also because he knew that Casey wanted to go to prom and he didn't want either of them to have to dip into their scholarship or grant funds, and finally he'd saved up enough to get his tuxedo and a beautiful green dress that he thought complimented her eyes tremendously. When she saw it she was so overwhelmed with emotions she started crying.

"Sniff sniff you didn't have to do this for me I could've bought it myself or asked Mother Olivia to help me get one," Casey said through tears

"No need I know how much it means to you and therefore how much it means just as much to me, also that is exactly why I didn't mention it to you I want to lighten the load on Mother Olivia's back as much as I can at all times," King said

"You're so sweet could've had never imagined that young boy I met would become the young man you are today, do you remember when we first met?" She asked

"How could I possibly forget as much as I'd love to forget it's still one of the greatest and most beautiful days of my life, almost as beautiful as you are" He sighed

"Ahh how sweet, and I don't think you were nearly as bad as you think I found it quite smooth and adorable," She said

"Ha you and I both know if you hadn't found me attractive at the time I would've missed out rightfully so, I may not know much but I've learned if you're attractive enough the bar is set way lower," He said

"Hmm, and how did you find that out exactly yourself? or through observation?" She asked

"Obviously through observation and several hypotheticals of course, where would I get any practical experience, when I'm not working, at school, or playing games I'm with you," He said quickly as if his life depended on it

She rolled her eyes " Sure sure I believe you this time but that truly sounded suspicious" She said

"Hey let's focus on the surprise I have for you on Prom day instead I promise( Prom miss) you won't have anything on your mind but that come the big day," He said

"Pshh you and your silly puns I take it back you're just as corny now as you were as a child, out with it what's the surprise," She said barely containing her laughter

"So you admit you thought it was corny time to go cry under a rock for the next couple of days then, and nope that's what makes a surprise a surprise not a peep from me," He said while looking downwards as if he was dejected which was met with a pout from Casey, but he held firm and she stormed off in a fit of what seemed like mock anger or at least that was his hope.

Fast forward 3 days and everyone at the orphanage was surprised by what they saw but no one more so than Casey herself. Right in front of the orphanage was an all-black stretch limousine she nearly could've easily caught several flies in her mouth with how agape it was.

"No way you went all out for this one you didn't have to do this it's just one night," Casey said

"It's not about the duration of the event to me it's more so linked to your happiness and importance you've placed on it, if you want your night to be special and magical who am I to deprive that from you if I can provide it," King said

"You are the best I swear, that's why I love you," Casey said

'Woah Woah Woah I don't think she's ever said that to me or if she has I was not paying attention fuck fuck I know what to do in this situation I'll smoothly say it back just in case she has said it before and even if she hasn't ill be safe, well played you're a genius hmm hmm' He inwardly thought

"I love you too not let's get going before it gets too late don't want to be the last ones to arrive slightly late is reasonable but too late and it is no longer fashionable," He said

They jumped into the limousine and made their way to school for the prom Casey was shaking from anxiety for the large majority of the ride in which King confused it with excitement until he grabbed her hand and she stopped shaking and smiled, looking even more beautiful than the first day he'd met her and before they noticed they'd arrived, they didn't notice but everyone else did they drew the attention of quite a few classmates and staff.

"Who is that I thought everyone had arrived or at least everyone noteworthy had"

"I'm not sure who it is but that is quite the luxurious limo has to be someone important or at least pretty well known"

"Only person of note that hasn't arrived and I use that word in the sense of his infamy is King, but no way the orphan would come in something like that he is a scholarship student after all"

"Look who's getting out"

Then King in his tuxedo with a green tie and Casey with her stunning green dress and corsage on was dazzling to the eyes, so much that they essentially ignored his presence as if it was something they normally did, this didn't bother him much because most of them were obnoxiously vain and shallow so he preferred it. However, that only extended to himself, not Casey and she wasn't a fan of how they treated him especially considering they had similar backgrounds and upbringings

"

Hey Casey we're glad you finally got here," Derek said

Casey completely ignored him and walked onto the dance floor with King's hand in tow as if he didn't exist

'Who does she think she is I took the time out of my day to greet her and she ignores me as if I am thin air, don't think we don't know you're also an unwanted orphan just because you're a bit attractive you think you can mingle among us' Derek inwardly thought

Derek went over to hang out with his friends while sulking no one bothered to ask what was wrong because everyone could see it happen so they just carried on as if he hadn't arrived, which further fanned the flames, causing him to storm off once again but this time in the direction of King and Casey who were dancing together without a care in the world.

King saw Derek coming in the corner of his eye while dancing and at first thought nothing of it but then realizing he was picking up speed as he was walking with something in his hand, he noticed it was a cup and knowing Derek's personality he immediately assumed the worse he had drawn close enough to throw it or pour it on Case which is what King feared so he spun her then threw out his back foot then

SPLASH!

The drink spilled alright but it didn't land on Casey it spilled all over Derek's white tux which was now dyed red, and he got up fuming even more nearly to the point if he was a volcano his eruption would be imminent.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU" Derek screamed

"What's wrong with me oh sorry I guess it was a bit clumsy of me to trip you while dancing but how could I expected you to abruptly appear behind me let alone be carrying a drink on the dance floor," King said with a face exemplifying the utmost sincerity

Everyone around him began to mock him.

"Haha what an idiot what did he expect was going to happen"

"It's his fault who carries a beverage while on the dance floor and it looks like he was nearly sprinting before he ran into King"

"Why did he even have the drink anyway knowing Derek doubt it was for anything good"

Casey hadn't seen anything but the collision and seeing how King responded thought it was a genuine accident so she reached her hand towards him to help him up and said

"Hey Derek sorry he didn't mean it he's not the best dancer, I was leading and the spin wasn't expected so he accidentally bumped into you no hard feelings okay-

"Shut up you fucking slut you and your bastard boyfriend are meant for each other a match made together in hell don't touch me with your filthy hands you're just as unwanted as him imagine being nearly an adult and still no one has adopted you pathetic, even if you did I imagine they only would do so to use you for your body" Derek screamed while slapping away her hand and winding up his other as if he was going to slap her with it

King was used to the worst of name-calling and statements from his so-called peers and it never bothered him he was always raised on the notion "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" so as long as they didn't place their hands on him he didn't care but as soon as it was directed towards Casey before he even realized it he had caught his hand threw it aside then his hands were around Derek's next in quick succession and what transpired next could only be described as a one-sided beatdown.
