34 Chapter 32

Serafall was walking down the hallway of her family residence, a Sitri property. Her being a Satan means that she lost her right to be acknowledged as a member of the Sitri Clan. That didn't mean that she couldn't meet with her parents or beloved sister. She did it quite often in fact!

Right now she was coming back from her sister's room, Sona's room. She was hopping and humming a song from her favorite show about Magic Girl. Her mood was very good, she talked and spent some time with Sona, her favorite show announced a new season and they receive confirmation that the General Governor of Grigori is going to attend the party held in a few days!

Serafall herself wasn't sure why, but she just liked him. He wasn't looking at her with mockery or dismissively when they first meet, as usual, it happens to her when people hear about her hobby or character. Not that she cared very much about what other people thought, but it was nice for her to meet someone kind and friendly like Razjeel. Pretty Devil-girl already considered them as friends, much to the other party's obliviousness.

But being friends aside, she still had her duties as a Satan and someone in charge of foreign affairs. Razjeel was an enigma to her, to other Satans too. Sirzechs was particularly worried, but that didn't surprise Serafall, in the end, his sister, Rias, interacted with him a few times and she heard it weren't pleasant meetings.

From what she heard it was one of the new peerage members of Rias who acted rude towards him. Though Serafall still thought that it could have been solved without violence. But that aside she was actually quite excited and impatient for two reasons.

The first is the upcoming gathering of a few Factions, maybe she will be able to make some connections, but what was more important was that the Sona will be coming too! They will have the opportunity to dance together and won't decline in front of everyone!

The second one is Ajuka's investigation regarding Razjeel. Although she felt bad doing something like that to a friend, Micheal's words intrigued and concerned the four Satans. The attitude showed toward Razjeel, the fear, and shock expressed by Michael, none of them had ever seen something like that. The mightiest Angel cowering in fear just by seeing someone. Something was off, Serafall knew it. Otherwise, it would be impossible for them to not be aware of the existence of such a Fallen Angel.

"It has to do something with that anomaly a few months ago. It's a shame we couldn't investigate it properly." Serafall sighed feeling a little down. "Shinto gods had to know something otherwise they wouldn't block our access to that place." She concluded with an atypical serious expression.

Soon Satan Leviathan reached the living room of the Sitri manor, her former house, and a current place where her family was living. She spotted a familiar figure, a pretty and elegant woman seemingly in her early thirties. She had black hair tied in a comb, amethyst earrings, and wore a black and blue dress.

"Hi, mom!" Serafall said cheerfully with a wide smile.

Lady sitri looked at her oldest daughter and smiled sweetly. "Hello, Sera." She greeted her gesturing to sit next to her.

Razjeel checked himself in the mirror. He wore a black suit with a white shirt underneath. Having a hard time with a bow tie, he just growled and threw it on the bed in irritation.

"Why the hell somebody would wear that knot around their necks? During my times just a simple robe would be fine..." He complained to himself.

"Things are changing as the time passes by, including fashion," Raynare said with a sigh taking the bow tie and walking up the front to the Razjeel.

It didn't take more than a few seconds until she swiftly put the tie in its right place, around Razjeel's neck. She caught a glimpse of her and Razjeel in the mirror, standing together. A smile formed on her face.

"I'm telling you, no one cares if I wear it or not. This whole banquet is just a charade for dirty political games, under-table pacts, and so on."

"I care. I won't let the leader of our faction embarrass himself because of his lack of proper clothing. And yes, people notice this thing and will gossip about it." Raynare said when she saw Razjeel trying to interrupt her, leaving no ground for the discussion.

She straightened his jacket, made sure the tie isn't tilted, and reached her hand to fix his black hair. But he take her by her wrist and backed off.

"No-no-no. Leave my hair alone."

Raynare looked at him from head to toes, as if judging his appearance. "Hmm, I think it'll do." She said nodding to herself.

Razjeel raised his eyebrows, feeling a little insulted. " 'Will do'? That's petty coming from you who keeps devouring my pure body with your eyes at any occasion."

She kept nodding to herself, lost in her thoughts. "Yeah, I know... Wait, what?!" Snapping back to reality she looked at Razjeel who stared at her with widened eyes.

"Whoa... I didn't think you would admit it so easily. I'm taken aback."

Her cheeks started feeling warmer, she knew she started blushing from the embarrassment, but she didn't say anything. She knew she would probably say something and make things worse.

"*Cough*!" Faking a cough to gather her composure she looked to the side. "You probably should be going now. The rest must be waiting for you."

"That's true." He glanced at the golden clock hanging on the wall. "Well, thanks for the help. See you later." He lightly tapped her forehead and left the room.

Alone in Razjeel's bedroom, Raynare stood in the same place. She touched the spot he flicked her and frowned momentarily, but soon the frown faded, replaced by a small smile.

"Haaaa...." Sighing loudly she fell on his bed and rolled from side to side a few times before sighing again, much heavier than before. She put her hands on her chest, staring at the ceiling. "Should I tell him...? But... What if it makes things strange between us???" Raynare's face turned sour, she was worried. "What should I dooo~!"

A few floors below, Razjeel walked up to the three men standing next to the magic circle.

They were Azazel, Baraqiel, and Shemhazai.

"Took you longer than I thought," Azazel said checking the imaginary watch on his hand.

"We still have time anyway." Razjeel shrugged, losing up his collar a bit. He really felt uncomfortable in the suit.

"This should be over in no time. A few hours maybe." Azazel spoke. "You'll just dance to a few songs with a few ladies of the Houses, put a charming smile here and there, maybe a nice word or two, and raise some glasses. That's what it takes tonight. The rest will be handled by Shemhazai anyway." He put his hand on the mentioned Fallen's shoulder.

"As always..." Sighed Shemhazai. After so many years, he just got used to it.

Razjeel frowned at his younger brother. "You don't need to teach me on politics. But what will you do?" He crossed his arms.

Azazel snorted. "What I do the best! Take care of the precious beverages!" He smiled proud of himself.

"A freeload as always." Razjeel clicked his tongue.

The magic circle on the ground light up in the next moment, the connections have been established.

"Finally, off we go," Azazel mumbled and stretched his neck.

The four men walked toward the center of the circle. Razjeel glanced at the strangely quiet Baraqiel. Sure, he wasn't the most talkative person but he still gave out a strange vibe.

In the next moment, they disappeared in bright light.

The hall was bustling with chatters and frequent laughter of the lords of the Devil clans. The ladies of the households were accompanying their husbands, exchanging greetings, gossiping, planning a future of their clans by making deals, and even deciding on the marriages of their heirs.

The four individuals were constantly approached by the people, even to only exchange a few words and leave some kind of impression. The mentioned four were Great Satans.

Sirzechs was accompanied by his wife and head maid, Grayfia. The silent and cold beauty was standing a few feet behind her husband, as today she was fulfilling her duty as a maid, not a wife.

Serafall was cheerfully greeting and chatting on the most trivial things with whoever approached her, trying to enjoy the small talks. But if she had to be honest, they were all the same and at this point, they were just a formality.

Rias and her group were in the middle of the hall, near the buffet. All were dressed properly, Issei and Kiba wearing texudos, and the girls clothed in the appropriate dresses.

"Should I try and approach him when he arrives?" Rias said with a fake smile on her face, she was just greeted by another young heir.

Akeno who wears a dark kimono responded to her friend. "You can try, but better be careful. This banquet is all about the three of them so it is better to not meddle." Her elegant smile never left her pretty face as she spoke about the most important people and the reason for this banquet.

"I know..." She turned around to the food and breathed deeply, her smile immediately dropped as she relaxed her face. "We have to keep him away from the General Governor." Her eyes fell on Issei who was ogling at every woman that crossed his way.

"Kiba will keep an eye on him. But there is something else. It's about Koneko." Her smile faded as the worried expression appears on her face. "She seemed distressed lately, daydreaming more than always. Something is just wrong..." Akeno was worried about young the young white-haired girl.

Their chat came to an end as the commotion started on the upper level of the hall. All guests started slowly heading in that direction.

There was a faint flash and the four figures emerged when the light died out. Thin-looking butler cleared his throat and called loudly, so everyone could hear him.

"General Governor of the Grigori, Razjeel, and his companions!"
