12 New Goals, New Mentality

"Young master, Yao Cheng has called for everyone from the Royal Family to attend today's grand breakfast."

"What does he want to do calling us all together? Is he marrying another woman?"

Shaking her head, Yu Yan shrugged a little and said, "This one doesn't know, young master."

"Fine. I'd like to see what show he has planned for today. Maybe he'll disown me or send me away for refusing to accept the position of crown prince in front of all those guests."

"I doubt he'll ever dare do such a thing, young master. Even though he's one of the strongest experts of this world, the man has no pride whatsoever due to which he can live with any kind of humiliation as long as he can achieve his goal."

"You think so?"

Nodding her head, Yu Yan in the end still said, "But I think you were too hasty that day, young master. Even though you want to kill Yao Cheng, I don't think you should have refused the position of crown prince."

"You don't have to worry about that, Yu Yan. Things wouldn't be fun if I became the crown prince."

"Fun?"

Unable to understand what her young master was talking about, Yu Yan chose to stand there in silence as the fourteen year old who looked a little too tall for his own age began changing his clothes.

Since he was going to attend a gathering for everyone from the royal family, he couldn't do so in his regular training clothes.

Putting on a luxurious black robe which was decorated with beautiful golden patterns and even had a dragon's image on the part which covered his back, Li Feng simply used his hands to comb his hair back and left the room after grabbing the Soul Replenishing Jade Fan.

Walking while holding onto it which continuously sent waves of soothing cold energy inside his body, Li Feng had to admit that he got used to carrying it.

Not the artifact specifically, but the jade fan itself which felt as if it was a part of him due to having it on him all the time.

As for the sword, even though Li Feng trained with it all the time, turns out that it was an ordinary artifact and not a special artifact like the Soul Replenishing Jade Fan due to which it would remain inside his house-sized spatial ring when he wasn't using it.

In the two years it had been since Xinya had left, Yu Yan never once failed to send a report of what Li Feng did to her.

And through these reports she made it obvious that Li Feng was not using the cultivation manuals she had given him and instead was using some other technique which more or less should be around the same level.

Learning about this, Xinya in the beginning worried about where her son could have obtained the cultivation technique from, but soon stopped thinking about it since she trusted he wouldn't do anything stupid just because he was rebelling against her.

Yes, rebelling.

That was what Xinya considered Li Feng was doing by training in a technique which she hadn't left behind for him after he realized the truth.

The truth of the matter though, was that even though Li Feng wasn't doing any sort of 'rebelling', he no longer had the same love towards his mother.

During the two years he drowned himself in cultivation, Li Feng who was all alone began reflecting on his past and in the process realized many things which were suspicious and didn't seem to fit in.

Once such a thought entered his head, Li Feng's brain worked on overtime to figure out all the parts which didn't make sense.

And once he started doing this, Li Feng's heart turned cold from realizing that his whole life, everything he did was all for nothing. It was almost as if he was nothing more than a puppet who was playing in Xinya's palm just like she wanted him to.

Is that woman even my mother?

That very question bothered Li Feng's mind for a few weeks at the end of which he accepted that Xinya was his mother, but she was not the kind of woman he hoped for at all.

In his younger days, Li Feng used to think that even though Xinya was always cold to him and didn't behave as if he was her son at all, deep down she cared for him a lot.

But once he realized that everything was an act and Xinya was simply setting him up to follow through with her plan and do everything she wanted him to while thinking that it was his own thoughts he was following…. How insidious!

Upon coming to this realization, Li Feng did have thoughts of stopping cultivating, but in the end he chose to not do that.

This was due to how awesome and powerful Li Feng felt every time he achieved a breakthrough.

That sensation which made him feel he was the only who mattered in the world and that he could do anything he wanted to, Li Feng loved that sensation too much to stop cultivating.

Furthermore, as a fellow man, how could Li Feng not love growing stronger?

Due to this, Li Feng didn't stop cultivating and planned to complete the missions Xinya had left behind for him as well because obtaining those rewards only served to benefit him.

At the same time though, Li Feng was filled with limitless anger and frustration towards not just Xinya, but all women as well. He wanted nothing more than to make every single woman in the world kneel in front of him like slaves.

To do that, even though the women in this world weren't as strong as Xinyi, Li Feng wasn't strong enough either due to which he could only take his time and grow stronger before finally revealing the new him to the outside world.

This was also how Li Feng in the future would stand in front of Xinyi and let her know that she wasn't worthy of being his mother, and not the other way around.

And for one reason or the other, Li Feng felt that the time for his true personality to come out wasn't too far away.
