Betrayal

"Seeing you all here tonight truly warms this heart of mine a bit, how long has it been since we have gathered like this?" Nicholas asked as he looked at the two Shadows who were standing in front of him while the councilmen were right behind them.

"It has definitely been quite some time, Nicholas." One of the Shadows, Malakai said with a grin as he took a sip of his drink before moving to the side. His fiery red hair and suit that was ripped in some places really made him stand out.

"Come, the council is expecting you, Nicholas." The other Shadow, Trubenon, said as he stood next to Malakai. Trubenon was originally not from the empire and had arrived some 20 years ago. He was one of those that made their way from the very bottom of society and reached the rank of a Shadow.
