1 Chapter 1

"It is not safe in the temple for him! "the aged master confessed, utilizing the best of his proficiency to keep the enormous barriers enclosed.

He conjured up a spell, but he was extremely aged, and the regiments outside were too prevailing.

"Send him away from here! "the aged man warned urgency radiating from his voice.

The woman in white nodded and scampered away into one of the rooms.

"You must leave...now! "she said, her face eradicating distress and anxiety.

A man in his twenties arose from his position perplexed.

"You must come with me," she confessed and a loud thud was heard. "Now! "she stressed.

The boy followed her, blocking out the sounds of cries and grapple from outside the temple borders in the background. Havoc had been set loose.

Some of the attackers had started to surge the temple barricades, shooting arrows.

"Stay behind me."The woman shrieked, drowning out the howls and agonizing moans.

"I can resist! "he contended, but the woman jabbed him aside.

She shut her eyes and the surface began to tremble, some of the Intruders fell from the barriers and got bruised badly. The man stood his footing and took a Stance motivated to defend himself.

The woman opened her eyes and a massive surge of wind blasted the attackers, vigorously shoving them away. Many fell and smashed their necks, she wielded the wind to hurl their arrows back at them. Eradicating a reasonable number of them.

Till, an arrow drove through her arm, damaging her and rendering her useless, as she oozed blood uncontrollably.

"Nooo! "the boy howled, a tear dropping from his eye, he got to her level, clasping her in his arms.

She tugged his shirt with all her might and whimpered some things into his ears. She pulled out a book from her white clothing and put it in his hands.

He looked at her unsure of what she meant.

But out of concern, he fled, making an effort not to get hit, which proved arduous. An arrow slammed his leg, he felt a raw pain and fell face flat, blood gushing out directly.

*Ring*

Rosey rasped, and lazily picked up her phone, she peered at the screen and lowered the phone back on the table nonchalantly.

The phone rang again.

She answered it and placed it on speakerphone. "Yes...." she lazily said, yawning uncontrollably.

"We are at the airport waiting for you." the voice on the other end said.

"Ok... That's..." she halted to yawn then continued. "Nice," she put in, removing the spec from her eyes.

"The plane will take off in an hour without you! "the voice announced, virtually howling into the phone to make a point. It took her a second to secure what she just heard.

"Fudge! "she exclaimed, totally awake.

"Yes, fudge! You have to quit your all midnight studying!"The voice reprimanded.

"Kareem!" she mumbled stressed out, she took a towel from her closet, sprinting around her bedroom.

"I always tell you...rest more." the voice on the other end of the phone said.

"I haven't washed my hair!" she confessed while brushing her teeth.

"I called in last night to make sure you were asleep, I even sent a text!"Kareem said, prancing over the situation.

"You're not helping!"She said sternly, "Fine! But you better get here," he said and she broke off the call to focus.

"Ugh!" she said and stepped into the bathroom, utterly hampered.

"Where is she?"Tia asked, some of their team members had grown exhausted.

"You know how Rosey is, she will always make her entrance, "Kareem let out.

"We should have just taken a helicopter!"Tia said and stretched her fingers across her face. Kareem gazed at her blankly, as if she could afford a helicopter, Rosey could but she couldn't.

Kareem was about to say something, but Rosey bolted into the airport, looking like a crazy soul.

"As fresh as ever"Tia mumbled loud enough to be heard.

"You're...punctual"Kareem announced, she rolled her eyes and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Thanks for making them wait, "Rosey said to her best friend.

"Our flight got delayed" he dryly said.

"You just be grateful that we didn't leave without you" Kareem added.

Rosey hiked in front, leading her teammates through the path on the map.

The helicopter was not too far away.

Kareem and Tia were conversing with the other two team members.

Rosey focused on the map, not breaking her focus with a compass in her hand.

The map would lead them to the ancient temple, and they would go inside and seize whatever they could find and reveal it to the world.

"I can't believe you still think that she's suitable to lead this team, she cannot be trusted," Tia said.

"People make wrong choices Tia," he said to her and glanced at Rosey.

"All the time?"Tia asked coming off irritated from the repetitive conversation.

"I think you should be the one who steers the team," Tia said.

"I don't love this job the way she does, I've seen her starve herself for hours, she's in love with this job, "He said, and his face lit up.

"Are you sure you're not keeping her because she's the one funding all our projects?"Tia asked, narrowing her vision.

"No," he said snappily, seeming revolted at her thought.

"Wait! No! Don't tell me you...you..."Tia was saying in disbelief till Rosey cut her off.

"Hey! Guys! It's here! Come see!."Rosey cried out from a distance vividly thrilled.

Rosey pushed some tall grasses and they all saw it, an abandoned temple!

The abandoned temple!

Rosey and her team setup, and got all their equipment ready.

Kareem decided to film everything, even though they hadn't found anything yet.

Rosey took cautious steps, the fences had fallen apart, but the temple prevailed, well some part.

"It's so deserted and ancient," Rosey said under her breath.

"We will need to carbon date and get to know how old this temple is, "Rosey said. Tia nodded.

"Hey, guys! Come see!" a voice chimed, from the other side, Rosey and Tia glanced at each other. "He must have found something golden, "Rosey said with certainty.

Indeed it was something!

A huge plant, oozing blood, Rosey and her team were baffled at its size.

"How could this plant be so huge?"Rosey thought to herself.

"How did it withstand all these years?"Kareem inquired, lowering his camera, Rosey eyed the delicate plant.

She noticed something inside, one of the petals revealed a figure.

Without thinking, she strode towards it, about to rip a petal.

But Kareem halted her movements.

"Rosey!" he cried out. Snapping her out of her trance. "What are you doing?"Tia asked, bewildered.

"I just...I don't know why, but there's something inside this plant, and it's drawing me to it" Rosey said.

Kareem passed Tia a confused glance which she returned. "I think you need some more rest, "Tia said, but Rosey seemed unsettled.

She noticed something else, a book, which was deep inside the roots of the plant.

"Look! A book!" she said, her teammates glanced and saw the book.

Rosey relaxed Kareem's grip on her and made her way to the book.

She picked it up and as soon as she did, the flower began to collapse!

She jumped startled! And fell on her behind, the book still in her hand.

She was still trying to recover from the shock she was experiencing.

Her heartbeat accelerated and her breathing became unsettled. She developed goosebumps all over her hands.

Never before had she seen something of that nature before.

"Rosey!"Kareem shrieked, and took off over to her."Are you fine?"He asked her, she calmed down and held unto him, repossessing her senses.

"Yes," she managed to say.

"Aaah!"Tia screeched grabbing everyone's attention.

Rosey and Kareem glimpsed in her direction to catch a glimpse of an astonishing sight.

Rosey stood up instantly, her heart thumping, she was stunned at the sight before the six of them.

"A man..."Kareem said under his breath in awe.
