32 Yami Buraford

As Kai followed Charles along with Michael and the others following behind them, they reached the western wing of the royal palace, which was different from the main palace as everything was made up of curved rocks and no magic runes can be found in this place there was a huge green garden in which different colors of flowers where growing and entire place was filled with the sweet fragrance marking one fill relax and comfortable and peaceful.

Finally, with Charles they entered the place where Yami Buraford lives, the doors of the room were wide open with two guards standing on the sides, as they saw Charles, they greeted him and allowed him to enter with Kai and others.

On reaching inside Kai saw a room filled with sunlight and flowers were placed in different corners of the room all of them were of the same kind, as an old man with white black hair was lying on a giant bed with a middle-aged woman sitting by his side talking to him as they noticed Charles.

"Come, Charles, we were just talking about you, did you bring Kai with you ?" asked the old man.

"Yes, Lord Yami, master Kai has come with me with Duke Michaels family." said Charles as he told Kai to come forward.

As Kai comes forward to see Yami, the middle-aged lady smiles and stands up and she runs to Kai and hugs him.

Kai was not ready for this kind of situation and without anything hugs her also.

After some time she lets go of Kai as tears can be seen in the corners of her eyes as she smiles holding his hand and pulls him and made him sit on the chair she was sitting at, seeing this old man smiled at Kai.

"Yami look this is our grandson, he is already a young man," said the lady.

"I can also see that Elina, he has grown up" as the old man smiled.

Seeing smiling faces of an old man and middle-aged woman, he can feel that they were really happy to see him.

"Kai, you must not have ever seen us but we have known you since your birth, through we where not present where but by using image stone, we where so happy but also sad that we where not present there our self and to hold you in our hands, your grandfather and I where so worried when you suddenly disappeared in space rift." said middle-aged woman with a smile.

Hearing that Kai choose to remain silent.

Seeing no reaction from Kai, the oldman spoke "Kai, I am your grandfather Yami and she is your grandmother her name is Elina, though it is hard to accept, so you can just take it slowly and if you have any questions you want to ask us?"

Hearing Yami words Kai did not have any change in his expression and put on a smile on his face.

"I know you guys have problems and have some reason to not contact my father or my family members, like some enemy of yours, could have harmed my parents and me if they have known about us, so I will not ask anything about it as I can already understand by experience of spending some time with Duke Michael and how complicated is high society can be."

"So grandpa and grandma you don't have to worry about that, I only have two question, if you want to hide our family why did you take decision to nominate me for election and why are you in this condition, I can feel it that this illness is not normal or can be said it is not illness at all." said Kai who was looking at Yami

Yami's current condition was like a plant drying up with grey spots on his body, he is so thin that his bones can be seen. His face was full of wrinkles and his eyes were red which made it look like he has not slept for many days.

Hearing Kai, Yami said, "The reason why I nominated you for competition of throne, is because I wanted to give eastern region some time to recover, though you may not become King, but as a part of royal family, I cannot just sit and watch what is happening in kingdom, Duke William wants to make Eastern Region fall so that later he can have fertile lands of eastern region, through Western region is rich in resources but land is not fertile because of which he had to import vast amount of food and other domestic product to his dukedom which cost him a large amount of money to buy it from merchants."

Hearing that Kai was not surprised as he has already heard about it from Diana

"Duke William is money-loving greedy person, though he acts like a gentleman deep down, he is completely black-hearted, he can do anything to fulfill his desire, even my foolish brother was nothing but a tool for him, during competition no region has to pay tax to capital so eastern region will only have to pay the land rent of 25% for one year, one year may not be a long time but it is not short either, that is the reason I nominated you,you did not nominate Eastern Region will still have to pay tax to capital."

Hearing that Kai nod and look at his grandfather and thinks"this man is suffering from such illness but still thinking about the kingdoms people."

"As for your second question, even I have no idea what had happened, one day I went to forbidden forest with my man and we meet a man-eating tree. We cut it down but before it died it released spores into the air, at that time I did not care about it but on return to the capital, I had a high fever which continued for 7 days after which my body started to become worse day by day and even standing was not possible after sometime and finally I was reduced to this state, I have wanted to die many times in these years but looking at your grandmother face I have not given up and have lived till now somehow,these 50 years have passed."

Kai on hearing it nod as he was planning to ask about it to Master Daoma maybe he would know something about it.

"Grandfather and grandmother I have something to tell you" as he calls Diana to come.

Looking at Diana, Yami and Elena remained silent

"You must know who she is, she is Duke Michael daughter and she is also my future wife, I plan to ask my parents for permission first and decided the date of marriage, so please give us your blessings"

Hearing Kai, Elena holds her hand and takes her away with her at a corner and started to talk to each other slowly and with low volume so that others can't hear them.

But Kai could hear them clearly and smile as he looks at Yami and holds his thin hands "Grandfather maybe there is a cure to it, so don't worry I will get its solutions and cure you and you have to be present in our marriage ceremony."

Looking at Kai's serious expression Yami nod thought he had been in this condition, he still wants to not die a meaningless death, he hasn't given up as he has too many things to do in these years.

As Kai was holding Yami's hands a sudden voice rings in his head

"Master, Jai and others have completed their evolution."
