24 Towards the capital (4)

Ch24

The next morning.

In the dukes castle.

"How did we end up in this condition." Kai thought as he raised his eyes to see the Duke of Almon scolding Alfred.

The Duke was an old man with white hair and a wrinkled face. He had an average build his voice was hazy but his eyes were clear, letting out an aura of authority, power. Looking at his eyes one would know that this person is no one to mess with. He was one of the Dukes of the Buraford kingdom, Michael Almon. His other status was Alfred's father. Who would have known that the town lord of a village in the middle of nowhere next to the unknown is the son of one of the four dukes of the Kingdom of Buraford.

Just as Kai, Lily and Alfred after a three day long journey. Immediately after they arrived Alfred dragged them to the Dukes castle to meet him.

"My good for nothing son, at least you can come to see this old man once or twice a year or at least send me a message, you were such a talented young man but you decide to abandoned your home and decided to live in the middle of nowhere."Michael said as he looked at Alfred with a look of disappointment.

"I would have used to force to make you come back, but I know you think this place is a prison and you don't like politics but this matter is about your elder sister."

On hearing that it's about his elder sister, Alfred stood up with a look of worry and fear,"Don't tell me it's that damn curse"

On hearing Alfred's words Michael did not say anything but had a look of heartbroken sadness.

Alfred's whole body was shaking "No, no it cannot be, the curse of the Almon bloodline."

The Curse of the Almon bloodline, in the Almon family, whenever a woman is born, none of them have ever lived past a 100 years and all of them have died in the same way, by becoming an ice statue and eventually melting down to become water.

Every one of them had a heaven gifted talent with calamity level beauty but every single one of them died a tragic death.

"She does not have more time left. The ice power releasing from her body can no longer be suppressed by the fire attribute magic crystal. I even bought a heart of magma even that did not work." said Michael with a trembling voice. It is very difficult for a parent to see his child in pain and not be able to do anything. 

The duke was helpless. Their ancestors had looked for many solutions but in the end they found nothing.

"Let's go, she is waiting for you, in her room."

Saying that Michael lead the way.

On their way to the room, Kai got to see the interiors of the luxurious castle. The  floor was made up of white stone with a red carpet on it. The walls were decorated with a variety of symbols. If someone else saw them they would think they are just beautiful patterns for decoration, but Kai knew that all the decorations was actually a magic rune circuit used to support and strengthen the wall from any kind of magic attack. They also had an attack magic Circle well hidden beneath. These are all 4th rank magic runes connected together to display power of a 5th rank rune. Various armors and weapons were enforced by magic were put on display. All this was a part of the defence mechanism of the castle, it was less of a castle but more of a fortress. Even a peak level grandmaster will die if he tries to forcefully  break in. It was truly a Dukes castle.

Most of the rooms were employed to store food or weapons. Finally, they reached Alfred's elder sister's room.

As the Duke opened the door suddenly the entire surrounding temperature lowered. A bone penetrating cold could be felt. Feeling the cold Kai started circulating his magic power and formed a barrier around himself and Lily and Alfred and the Duke also used their magic to protect themselves.

As they entered the room, ice could be seen everywhere, the whole room was frozen and covered in ice crystals and in the middle a young lady was sleeping peacefully on the bed as fire attribute elemental stones and crystal where placed around her bed to give her some warmth but they did not seem to be working very well.

Long polar blue color hairs, snow-white skin, long blue eyelashes, and nose which looked like jade with blood-red lips, a angelic face which could suck the soul out of any male. Her big white milky breasts and slim waist lead to her perfectly curved ass and her white juicy thighs and long white jade legs, on top of this she was wearing thin white clothes, which hid less and showed more. A truly devilish body which would make every man's desire go wild.

Kai who was looking at Diana was fully captivated by the beauty of her.

He has been living in forest away from human civilization for such a long time and this is his first time such destruction beauty.

'Control, control Kai. She is Alfred's elder sister. How can I lose control over my self by looking at a woman of my grandmother's age.'

Kai thought as he tries to control himself.

Lily who stood by Kai, was completely lost in herself

'This... cannot... be. Miss Diana Almon is mister Alfred elder sister'

Daina Almon, one of the most powerful magic users in the kingdom. At the age of 100, she reached the peak of the magic warrior stage. Her beauty and intelligence which is known throughout the continent.Countless men have confessed their love to her but none of them received a response from her. She is listed in top 3 beauties in the continent. But now she is lying on a bed waiting for her death, helpless. 'To think about the countless women in the royal academy who look up to her will be lying on the bed in such conditions'

Sensing someone entering her room, she opened her eyes and found a familiar person standing beside her bed,"You came Alfred. I haven't seen you for such a long time. You have grown up, little brother." said Daina with a smile.

"Yes sister. I returned, but what happened to you." Looking at Daina's condition Alfred's voice became hazy and trembling.

"Curse of Almon, little brother" Diana said as she bitterly smiled at Alfred.

"Will you not introduce me to your friends you have brought together with you." She looked at Kai and Lily standing behind the Duke and Alfred.

Duke was also interested in knowing what was the identity of Kai and Lily.

"Oh! Let me introduce them, he is Kai and she is Lily, the daughter of the city lord of Filon and is currently a student of the royal magic academy and Kai is from the town where I live. He is a genius and is already a peak grandmaster and magic rune Master".

On hearing Alfred, Duke looked at Kai again. His looks were above average and his clothes were simple.

To think that such a young man is a peak grandmaster. On top of this he could not even feel even a little magic from him, which means that his control over his magic has reached a very high level, and to think that he thought that he is just a follower of Alfred.

Diana also looked a Kai with curiosity "For you to reach such a stage at such a young age, you a genius, you have a vast future ahead of you, keep moving forward."

Meanwhile in Kai's mind completely different thoughts were floating"Don't, Don't look, don't look at me with those crystal blue eyes."

"I will remember your kind words madam Daina" Kai said hurriedly trying to stablize his mental state.

"Alfred, I don't have much time left, I want you to take my place as the heir of Almon Family. I know you don't like politics but I am helpless."

"Don't say that elder sister, I will find a way to save you, I won't let you die." said Alfred as his voice started shaking and tears were flowing from his eyes.

For Alfred, Diana was one of the most most important people in his life. His mother died at a very early age of 3, ever since then Diana has taken care of him. His father mostly remained busy with his work, for him his elder sister was everything in his childhood and now to see that same sister in this condition was very painful.

"Now, go we will talk again later," said Diana with a painful expression.

Seeing Daina in pain, Alfred hand shook.

Michael who was standing beside Alfred quickly told Kai and Lily to go outside and he forcefully dragged Alfred outside, closing the door as a painful scream was heard from the room.

Hearing that scream Micheal's entire body shook as he try to hold himself together as  "It's already been like this for a year. Time to time her body temperature reduces and a vast amount of ice magic is released from her body."

"Let's go, I have to do my work, Alfred you and your friends can stay as long as you like, as you are the future heir of my family I can no longer allow you to wander around the countryside."

Saying that Duke Michael left, as Alfred look his fathers back for the first time he noticed that his fathers hair was whiter than usual.

Turning around Alfred looked at Lily and Kai "Sorry for getting you guys into this mess, but on the bright side now we don't need to travel for a week to go to the capital. This castle has a magic teleporter, which can directly send us to the capital".

"Magic teleporter. Right why did we use them before?"

Hearing Kai, Alfred shook his head"Magic teleporter is used by government officials and can only be used in an emergency other than that only high-rank Nobles have personal teleporters."

"Oh!"

"Take some rest, I will have a room arranged for you guys, you can go an take bath and eat. I'll tell the servants about it." as Alfred led the way around, the maids and butler's greeted him.

Kai and Lily got in their room, they quickly went to take a bath. In the past three days  they were not able to take a bath.

Kai got into the the luxurious bath.All the important details had been taken care of. From the temperature of the water to the material used to make the bath towels and getting a massage to loosen up all his muscles. The bath Kai was feeling very refreshed until Master Daoma ruined his mood. When he returned to his room and made some magic rune locks on the door so that no one can enter the room or listen in.

"Do you want to help that lady?"

This was the first question Daoma asked after coming out of the ring.
