34 Competition Begins

Kai was sitting on a sofa as he look at beautiful flowers blooming in the garden. Lily was sitting beside him. 

"Lily, we are currently in the Royal city and I have promised your father that I will send you back to the royal magic academy safely. But I think that this academy is not suitable for you and it is a waste of time for you to attend it. So now you have to decide which path you want to take. You can return back to the magic academy or stay by my side."

Hearing that Lily remained silent

"You don't have to take a decision right now, we will leave the royal capital tomorrow, so you have time till tonight to give me a reply."

As Kai rubs Lily's head with a smile and stood up from his seat and went to his room to talk to Daoma.

As he left the garden and told, guard to lead him to his room.

His room was not so small but not so big either. He had a window from where the western palace garden could be seen. As rays of light enter his room, a bed with a red blanket on top of it and a mirror table its side. With green walls and hardwood floors Kai knew that his grandfather was a person who liked to live frugally.

Kai entered and sealed the room with a magic rune.

Daoma came out of the ring and said in a jesting tone, "what, do you you want your highness? Hahaha."

Seeing Daoma making fun of him, Kai didn't say anything.

"Being a prince dosen't suit you kid. So, what do you plan to do from now, you don't have any experience or any knowledge how to govern a state, do you think you can win kid?"

Hearing Daoma Kai didn't show any reaction on his face.

"Master I may not be able to do it alone buy having Jai and others by my side and having Duke Michael support, I think we have a chance."

Seeing Kai confident smile Daoma also smiled back and said, "Leaving that topic aside, you didn't call me to discuss this did you?"

"Master, do you know what kind of illness my grandfather is suffering from?" 

Daoma was troubled as he also has no idea what kind of illness it is. He was master of magic and he has some knowledge and can create medicine to cure the illness. In his life time, he had seen many diseases and know their cure. But he is not an expert in medical field and cannot risk giving wrong solutions.

Getting Daoma reply Kai also becomes depressed because he thought that maybe Daoma has some way to cure it.

Seeing Kai's sad expression, Daoma was also helpless as he placed his hand on Kai's shoulder.

"Don't worry Kai though I don't know that disease your grandfather is suffering from but the world is vast and if there is a disease there must be a cure, it will just take some time, for now, you don't have to worry as your grandfather still have time, through his life energy have become very week but as a battlemage your grandfather is still fighting with the disease. I think, you must visit the part of forbidden forest were your grandfather had visited. We can find some clue then I can give you a cure."

Kai, who was listening to Daoma carefully, because curious when he said something about his grandfather being a 'battlemage'

"Master, what is a battlemage?"

Kai suddenly asking a topic outside the current topic made Daoma pause for a second and replied to Kai

"When a fighter reaches peak of 3rank and have to breakthrough to 4rank, most of them awake their mage root and choose to form magic origin of different attribute, unlike magic users fighters are given choose which attribute they want and is not decided by their mage root, must choose an attribute which suits them and become a magic user but there are some exceptions who form directly on attribute magic origin during their breakthrough and become battle mage, they have strong sense and possess battle aura, they are born to war machine, warrior with tyrannical will power and strength."

Having finished his conversation with Kai, Daoma returns to the ring.

With a blank expression on his face, Kai left the room to look for Charles.

Charles was still with his grandfather talking some complicated topic as Kai enter the room.

Seeing Kai, Charles smiled and passed him a piece of paper.

Receiving the paper, Kai opened it. On the paper, it was written that Kai had been made in-charge of the eastern region for 1year with all his power and privileges.

"This is an official document, giving you the power to rule and execute your power in the eastern region, don't lose it, you have to return it after one year, if you lose it you will be directly kicked out of the competition."

Hearing Charles, Kai nodded and he transferred the paper directly into his Myriad magic ring.

looking at Kai Charles and Yami made a serious expression, "Kai we know that condition of eastern region is not good, but we can't do anything about it, we hope that you do your best to improve lifestyle of people there, it is because of royal family negligence that this kind of problem has occurred, even if you cannot win, we hope you do your best, you are not given any knowledge or have any experience but still this is all I ask of you." said Yami

Kai on another hand smiling at them and with confidence said"Grandfather through I don't have any knowledge but I have friends and allies who can make up for those faults, you just wait and see grandfather, I will not disappoint you."

Seeing the confidence smile on Kai face and strength in his voice, they nodded in agreement.

"Best of luck then kai," said Charles as he took his leave.
