This was his own unique art of divination. The solid Yang lines and dashed Yin lines formed a binary system that gave rise to the eight all-encompassing symbols known as the Eight Trigrams. The Eight Trigrams were an octal-numeral system that represented every element in a universe; thus allowing him to derive the end result from a permutation of known precursor facts.
