60 Script Discussion

A few hours later, Amy woke up feeling refreshed. It was wonderful and she had a good sleep later. She looked around and Tom was not present. It seems that he went to work. Just as she was about to stand up and move out, the door was opened and Tom came inside with a tray in his hand. He hurriedly put the tray away and helped Amy standing up. "You can rest more if you want."

Amy answered: "No, I am okay now. In fact, I am feeling a lot more energetic."

Tom helped Amy with her things and presented her breakfast. While eating, Amy asked: "You don't have a work today?"

"No" Tom replied, "My only work is to be with you now." There was a deeper obsession in Tom's eyes than before.

Amy smiled: "How romantic of you. By the way, tell me how was the script. Do you think it can be adapted?"

Tom answered: "It's wonderful. I discover a new side of you everyday, Amy. The script can be adapted and I believe no studio will reject the script. So what are your plans?"

"I am thinking about discussing it with Richard first. If I want to adapt the script, the movie should be made as a joint venture of at least CAA, my Eternal Pictures and another big studio."

Tom nodded. Its not easy to adapt a movie. Although you can make a movie yourself but having the partnership of a big studio helps a lot. That's the position of big six studios in Hollywood. He said: "You can call him here. After discussing with him, you can further negotiate with Kevin Huvane."

"Okay, I will do as you say."

An hour later, Richard came to Amy's house. When he saw that Tom Cruise was present, his mood became dull but he didn't say anything. It's not even a proper script and looks like a prototype."

Amy smiled and replied: "I wrote it."

"Did I hear wrong, you wrote... " Richard was stunned and surprised, but then the theme of the script like age gap, two time divorced, blind in love came to his mind. All things aside, I believe this is a very good script,and I think you should act on this your-self. The role of a blind girl is challenging, but as the writer you should be able to do it. Such roles are biggest resource for an actress. They can get Oscar nominations or even win the awards without having to play ugly. Judges are also fond of such disabled roles."

Amy nodded. She wrote the character of Elizabeth as a prototype of herself, so of course she will play it. They discussed the other aspects and how to negotiate with Caa and other big studios.

Richard said: "As for caa, you can leave it to me. Kevin is your manager and he will not let go of such resources. The question is, who should be the director for the movie."

Amy immediately replied: "Nora Ephron."

Hearing Amy's answer, both Richard and Tom were surprised but then nodded. Nora Ephron is a good choice. She has directed and produced many romantic movies including "When Harry Met Sally", "Sleepless in Seattle", "You've got a mail.".

Amy said: "Richard, Can you arrange a meeting for me with her. I want to personally talk to Nora Ephron."

Richard agreed: "Okay, I will call her office to arrange a meeting." he looked at Tom and then asked Amy: "What about the role of Michael?"

Before Amy could say anything, Tom answered: "I will play it and even audition if the studio wants." he didn't leave a choice for refusal. How can he allow someone else to act when the script was based on himself and Amy, and Amy will also be playing personally, so there's no way he will allow someone else to act in the role of Michael.

Amy said to Tom: "There's no such need for an audition. If I am Elizabeth, then I believe no one will be better Michael than you."

Richard was a little disgusted seeing so much sweetness. He cleared his throat and stood up to go: "I will go. I have a lot additional work to do now. And forgot to tell you, you have a shoot with "Harper Bazaar" tomorrow. Be ready on time."
