61 Nora Ephron

In a private villa in Hollywood hills. A family of two were having a peaceful lunch.

"Have you not found anything you would like to work on." Nicolas Pillegi asked his wife Nora Ephron.

"No." Nora Ephron replied, "But I am indeed searching. I think it's about time for work again."

Nicolas nodded and didn't ask anything more. They have been married for fifteen years now, and they both don't bother to work as much they did in the past, especially

Nora. As one of the best directors of Hollywood, she has a lot of pressure to face when making a movie. People expect nothing less than a hit from her. Therefore, she chooses wisely.

A maid came and informed Nora Ephron: "Ma'am, your guest has arrived. As per your instructions, they are sitted in your office."

Nora nodded: "I will be there." she then said to her husband: "I have a guest to meet. I shall be going."

Amy was waiting in the office of Nora Ephron to meet her. Richard contacted Nora's agent and set up this meeting for her. The door of the room was opened and Nora entered.

After a simple greeting. Ephron said straight -forwardly to Amy: "I meet a lot of people everyday, but I never expected to meet you like this." she took a close look at the new actress who is called the best beautiful woman, and she has to say that the claims are not wrong.

Amy replied back: "Well, there is one thing I want to discuss with you. For this purpose, I specially requested my agent to meet you before contacting others." she handed the script prototype to Ephron.

Nora Ephron took the papers from Amy's hands and took a look at them. It seemed like a script. After reading the whole script for a few minutes, she closed the papers and looked at Amy: "Who wrote this?"

"Why do you ask?"

"It's written wonderfully."

"It's me. If you like the script, I want you to direct the movie."

Nora Ephron was surprised this time. Although there are some mistakes,the script in her hand can be called a masterpiece for love movies due to the story line. To think that Amy Collins can write something so good is quite a shock in itself. There are many actors and actress who have jobs other than acting like being a director, producer or investor. Among them, writing is a difficult one. Writer's mistakes are first to be caught.

She said to Amy: "The script is good enough and I am ready to direct, but the investment for the movie will not be small." the scenarios explained in the script would cost quite a lot of money.

Amy replied: "That's not a problem. My manager Kevin Huvane is negotiating with many big studios. I myself will invest in the movie."

Nora Ephron nodded. It seems that Amy Collins came with preparations. The conversation lasted for about half an hour and then Amy left.

After Amy's departure, Nicolas Pillegi entered the office. Seeing his wife smiling and reading some papers, he asked curiously: "You seem happy."

Nora Ephron smiled and handed him the copy of script in her hand and explained the matter. After reading the script, praise came out of Nicholas's mouth: "A great story indeed."

As Amy entered the car, Richard who was waiting asked: "How did it go. Did Nora Ephron showed any interest in the movie?"

"She did and I am sure you will receive her call in few days."

Hearing the words, Richard cheered. It's really great news. Getting a big name like Nora Ephron to direct a movie is not an easy thing. Although her status in director's circle is not high as Martin Scorsese or Steven Spielberg, but when it comes to love/romantic movies, no one can direct them better than her. Nora Ephron's every romance movie is nothing short of a master piece, wether it may be "When Harry Met Sally", "Sleepless in Seattle", "You've got a mail", etc. All of them are a milestone in the list of romantic movies, especially since they are rare female centred ones.

Richard said: "Leave the rest to me. I and Kevin will deal with these matters. You have to start preparing for the "Lost in Translation." It's shooting is going to start next week in Japan."

Amy nodded. Her schedule for this year is completely booked now. She has already signed three movies for the next year, and this one which she wrote will be the fourth. She has to shoot "Lost in Translation" in March and April. Then there is "Pirates of Caribbean" in May, June and mid July, and then lastly "Legally Blonde 2" from mid August to September. So, this movie can only be shot at the end of year or the beginning of next year. In the end, she only has 2-3 months of the rest time this year.

She texted Tom the details of her meeting with Nora Ephron. He was also quite anxious yesterday.

Tom was a having drinks at the bar with his friends David Beckham, Sean Penn and Ben Stiller. They are good friends for a long time although Beckham joined them later.

Sean Penn said: "Tom, you aren't seen out for a while."

Other two also nodded. Tom who has always been a fan of outings and sports, doesn't go out to hang with them now like they did it regularly previously.

Tom replied: "It's nothing. Just resting at home."

Suddenly, Tom's phone rang and he took it out to check. Seeing the caller's id, smile appeared on Tom's face. He happily picked up the call and went to a corner to talk due to the noise in bar.

When the other three saw the smile and happiness on Tom's face, they were surprised. They know the meaning behind such smiles. It seems that Tom is in love. Only those who are in love show such pure smiles.
