15 Renting their Home
As usual, the idea of renting the attic didn't work out. Most of the customers who came to see the room left even before seeing it as they saw the number of people living there. The size of the cottage also discouraged many from entering it.
But still, Qin Lixin was optimistic about this new idea of his. He had just graduated from college and was full of energy. He did odd jobs to earn pocket money.
Shen Yichen who was younger than him followed him around like an assistant.
Long Jiaxin and Qin Lijie were the same age as Asher.
Long Jiaxin had graduated in accounts and was running around, attending interviews in several companies but failed to get a job.
Qin Lijie was an artist. He worked on the street side, drawing portraits for his customers. Even though his income was not stable, he would receive a good lot as a tip other than the normal rate of portraits.
One day, Qin Lixin and Shen Yichen were returning from work, they saw an unusual crowd in the area where Qin Lijie usually drew portraits. Pushing through the crowd, they saw Qin Lijie drawing portraits as normal.
On the other side, an extremely beautiful woman was posing for him. She looked really young and pure like a university student but extruded a feminine charm like a mature lady. Her green eyes were shining like emerald, clearly indicating that she was mixed blood.
Many people gathered there were ogling over her beauty. Even Qin Lijie seemed distracted by her.
Once the portrait was finished, the crowd slowly dispersed.
The girl came forward to receive the portrait. She seemed rather satisfied with it and gave Qin Lijie a rather heavy tip.
Just as she was about to leave, Shen Yichen noticed her bags and suitcases. He hinted at Qin Lixin. As expected, she was a tourist.
Seeing the bags, the businessman inside Qin Lixin woke up. He started persuading her to stay at their home for rent. After a long time, she finally agreed to visit their home to see before making a decision.
From the conversation, they had concluded that she was a tourist who had arrived in the town today morning and has been walking around since then. As a least developed town, there were almost no hotels there.
Her name was Bai Ruoxi. She had found this town rather pleasant to live in and was planning on staying there for a longer period of time. Hence, she wished to rent a house rather than hotel rooms. That was exactly what Shen Yichen and Qin Lixin had offered here. She could stay with them as a paying guest.
Shen Yichen and Qin Lixin felt that they had hit a jackpot then.
Soon the trio reached the small cottage. The ground floor of the cottage had been used as a café. There was a staircase attached to the outer sidewall of the cottage providing access to the top floors.
Climbing the stairs they reached the attic.
Unlike a normal attic, it seemed more like a bedroom.
It was smaller than the rooms she had seen today morning in motels but had all the facilities she needed. It had a small balcony where a small table and chair as kept. Some decorative plants hung on the railings. The room had a single cot bed, a cupboard, a table, and a chair.
The décor was minimalistic, but Bai Ruoxi found it rather homely.
