1 From the Ashes

Looking down and not seeing your legs would freak out anyone and Syl I'm no different. Having spent a couple of minutes freaking out I finally calmed down. Looking around I realize that I'm currently in the middle of a forest.
Not knowing what to do I begin to roam in the direction of the trail in front of me. reaching the end of it I see a pond and approach it. I look into the water only to see myself when I was alive, but I'm see-through.
While a bit shocked about this discovery I don't notice an elderly lade appear behind me. feeling a tap on my shoulder I jump in fright and turn to see what touched me.
Seeing an elderly lady giving off a soothing aura is one of the things I least expected.
"Hello" Snapping out of it I decided to greet the elderly lady.
"Hello Syl, I know you have many questions but to start it off I'll tell you that your dead." She says while waiting to see how I'll react.
"… how did I die." Not knowing what else to say I ask the only thing on my mind.
"Well, on your planet there is one last celestial alive. The thing is that we trapped it there because of its unique existence. It takes over a host and has it go around killing people every couple of months in your Earth time. It sustains its life on the aura of death that only exists upon the death of being with souls on a certain level. On your planet, the only beings with that level soul would be humans which is also correlated to why humans are the only intelligent beings on your planet."
What killed me."
There was suddenly a white flash and I find myself floating above a street back on Earth. Looking around I realize that the road is familiar, and I remember that it's a street I took every day to school. Looking down at the people bellow I see myself waling while talking to my friends. Watching for a bit I notice a big truck coming down the road while the driver appears to be sleeping.
I see myself looking at a little girl in the middle of the street then I see myself taking off and tackling the little girl off the road. I get confused seeing that I avoided the truck while still managing to save the child.
I'm then left dumfounded seeing that the driver gets out of the truck walks up to where I'm at looking worried only to pull out a gun when he's a meter from me and shooting me straight in the head.
Then there's another flash of light and I'm back by the pond by the elderly lady.
I look at the lady and seeing my confused expression she begins to explain.
"The last celestial is what some of the people on your planet have come to call Truck-Kun. Like I stated before it possesses a host to drive it for it to kill people often enough to stay alive since it can only absorb death aura that the world correlates to someone else's kill not it's own. Your old world lacks magic so its inhabitants wouldn't be able to tell that it was the truck that wanted to kill whoever it killed not the person, so the death aura gets associated with the person driving instead of the truck itself."
"I see… sigh. So, what happens to me now." Honestly speaking I'm quite shocked by this but if I've learned anything in life it's that what's happened has already happened so don't dwell on it and instead think of ways to move on.
"We'll since Truck-Kun wasn't really exiled for being evil but because it was one of the only ways for it to stay alive since there are no more needless wars going on, we made a deal. It stays on a planet where it wouldn't be discovered (a planet without magic) and it eats the minimum amount possible and in exchange, we won't bother that it is killing a few mortals every so often. We'll even take care of the souls of its victims by allowing them to move on."
"In layman's terms, you have three wishes."
"Do I get to pick the world I'm being placed into, am I being reincarnated or transmigrated and if I am being transmigrated can I pick into who?" Having snapped out of my amazement I decide to ask important questions that will determine what I wish for, but I couldn't hide my excitement.
"hahaha." She begins laughing which if I'm honest is soothing and calming.
"That's correct, there are very few people who think about asking this and end up wasting one or two of their wishes to become who they want to be."
"Great. Can you give me some time to think about what I want to wish for?" I ask since I don't really know what to wish for, I decide to ask if I can get some time to think about it.
"Of course. In reality, you get a whole day in terms of your world." Hearing her I breathe out a sigh in relieve knowing I can seriously think about it.
"There are theoretically an infinite number of worlds so can you tell me if the one I'm thinking about is real." Having thought of my wishes I ask whether or not what I want to do is possible.
Reading my mind, she looks surprised and then begins to smile while confirming that it does in fact exist.
"Ok, so I want to be transmigrated into that world in the body of Riser Phenex. As for my wishes, the first wish is to have the soul of a primordial Phoenix who has control over Fire, Ice, Darkness, and lightning. My second wish is a custom set of Evil pieces that turn those with it into a demon phoenix hybrid while granting them manipulation over whichever of the fours elements I will have based on their compatibility while the boost they receive from the pieces to be as high as possible and giving them increased comprehension as an extra bonus. My third and final wish is to have the highest comprehension/learning ability possible as well as the highest possible mastery over my four elements but prioritize increasing my comprehension ability even if it decreases the level of mastery over my four."
"Those are some good wishes you've made there. Alright they will all be granted with a few bonuses from me for not asking for a damn system, aslo you and all of your peerage will technically become immortals since they'll be phoenix's they would just revive after death unless someone manages to sever their soul from the circle of reincarnation since each time a phoenix revives its seen as having gone through the cycle of reincarnation by the laws."
"Before I forget at what time do you want to be sent to." Hearing her I realize that I had forgotten to specify when to be placed and only stated where.
"Place me two years before Rias gets Issie to join her."
"Very well, it's been nice meeting you, but our time is up. I hope you have a nice life, farewell." With those last words said to me there is another flash of light and then I'm seeing a dark red ceiling.
Looking around I realize that the room I'm in is huge. Like its bigger than my old house. it's about 20x20m with a height of about 4m. from just a glance I'm able to tell that the furniture is expensive. Before I can continue observing the room, I hear a voice.
"Sorry I forgot to mention that you'll see all of your bodies previous memories as if they were a movie. So, get into a comfortable position laying down since you'll be unconscious while seeing the original Riser's life.
Complying I lay back down on the bed and say commence. And just like that I now know the entire life of Riser. The only thing I can say for certain is that he's such a d***. He always sees himself as if he's the best and everyone else must respect him. He yells at everyone for the smallest of things including his family.
Finally finding myself in the body of Riser the first thing I do is will for fire to appear on my hand and it did. Next, I tried ice then lightning and finally darkness which engulfed my hand in a shadow that didn't allow light to exit.
Amazement is all that filled my mind as it finally began to sink in that I had powers. Calming down from my excitement I focus inside myself and manage to bring out my own set of Evil pieces.
Looking over them I see that they have the same shape of regular pieces while they have golden lines coursing through them giving off a feeling of power. The rest of their surfaces are alternating between red, white, black and purple.
The other thing I noticed is that like I willed for, this Riser still didn't have anyone a part of his peerage and the Evil pieces the old Riser had are now nowhere to be seen.
Sitting up on the bed I begin to contemplate what I'm going to do first. First, I'll need to make amends with my family since I want Ravel to be my Bishop and unlike Riser I who's been born with everything I was not so lucky.
So, with my first goal set, I exit my room. Walking down the corridors I reach my sister's room. Entering it I notice that her room has pink everywhere. Pink furniture pink walls and some pink stuffed toys. Speaking of stuffed toys, she has dozens with some of them being bigger than herself.
While looking around I see a small girl in a pink dress laying on her bed while playing with two stuffed toys. Walking nearer she doesn't notice my presence until I'm sitting on her bed. She jumps startled by the sudden movement and sound.
Looking to see who it was she shows fear in her eyes when she sees me. this makes my heart ache; I always wanted a little sister and now that I have one, she's afraid of me. ignoring the pain, it brings me I motion for her to sit next to me, while afraid she complies but never removes her eyes off of me for fear, I'll do something while she's not looking.
Having sat down next to me there are a few moments of silence before I embrace her and say sorry.
"I'm sorry for everything I've done. I know a simple apology won't make up for it and I know you're confused but in time I'll tell you everything but for now, all I can do is promise you that I'll be a good big brother to you and do my best so your never upset or hurt ever again."
Having said my piece I wait in silence with her still in my embrace wondering what she'll say until I hear her crying and hug me back. seeing her response, I feel much better knowing I could still make it up to her. We stay like that for a few minutes until I let go and ask her what she wants to do.
She asks me if I want to play with her to which I say yes. For the next four hours, all you can hear coming from her room is laughter and the cheerful voice of a little girl playing with her older brother.
Having played with her for a while I look over at the clock on her wall which is also pink with flowers on it, I see that its already a bit past 10 p.m. so I tell her that she should go to sleep. She's reluctant at first but after telling her that I'll read her a story and stay with her until she goes to sleep, she agrees.
Seeing my adorable little sister fast asleep next to me I kiss her on the forehead and make my way back to my room. I decided to first fix my relationship with my sister since honestly, I never knew the love of parents and only ever really wished for a younger sister. While I did have a few friends who I saw as my own sisters in the past it's not the same.
I didn't, however, notice that since the beginning my parents had been watching us and left when they noticed me getting up ready to leave.
Now that I'm back in my room I decided that I will begin increasing my strength since despite all else I'm still a devil and devils value strength above all else.
