Birth of a King

Opening my eyes, I look at the clock which says its currently 5:30 a.m. and go take a shower. While I'm showering, I check my control and smile when I see that it's now at 1. This means I now use up only a tenth of what I would have used to cast the same spell 2 days ago. I'm happy but at the same time excited knowing that this was only when taking into consideration a small spell like a fireball but that even with my improvements I'm still incapable of using large spells.

So, for the next few days, I'm going to be working on increasing my overall mana capacity which is currently on the level of a mid-class devil. Another thing is that the difference between classes is a multiplier of 10 which will be calling levels. Capacity wise I'm at mid-class level 4 while my control I would place it at mid-class level 6 which is higher than my mothers and slightly lower than my fathers which I was able to see when they released there killing-intent.

This furthered my theory that they didn't know they could reduce their magical energy consumption by training their control and only try to increase their capacity. But the really surprising thing is that I was able to go from low-class level 6 to mid-class level 6 in only two days.

Having finished my shower I begin to increase my capacity which is much harder than increasing control. After about two hours I stop and go have breakfast with my family after being called me the same maid as yesterday.

We eat breakfast while having idle talk. They ask us what we do in Ravel's room all day too which I say we play or train which makes them happy knowing their children get along. Back in Ravel's room we keep playing and training while only leaving when it's time to eat. At the end of the day, I go back to my room and continue training.

2 more days passed like this and right now it's around noon and Ravel's reached the level I had set for her.

"Ravel you've reached the goal I had set for you so tell me, what is it you want me to do." Hearing me she gives out the biggest smile she could which instantly melts my heart.

"I… I want to be a part of your peerage!!!" She says more like yells. I look at her for a bit when I remember that I haven't even integrated with my own king piece. That's when I remember that a King piece gives the king a boost in power anywhere from 10-100 so it's actually a good thing, I haven't used it yet.

"Ok. But not now. I want to be stronger so that if someone is against you being in my peerage, I'll be able to shut them up." She gets sad when I tell her I won't be able to do it instantly but happy knowing I'm not doing it now since I don't want there to be complications when I do make her a part of my peerage.

4 months quickly pass by without the world knowing I am and am not Riser. My relationship with my family has improved tremendously yet to the outside world I'm still the stuck-up womanizing Riser hated by most if not all. Not to mention I'm looked down on since the last time my power was shown I was seen as a mid-class devil despite being 18.

During these four months, I've managed to get my control to High-class level 9 while my capacity has reached High-class level 9 as well. While Ravel has gotten her control to Mid-class level 1 with her capacity staying at Low-class level 9.

Right now, where inside my father's office again but this time it's all four of us. I asked them if we could meet up so I could tell them something. They went in first and I told Ravel that it was time for her to join my peerage to which she looked ecstatic.

We entered the office and sat down across from our parents who had a questionable look on their faces to see us enter together when they thought it would only be me. I hope they haven't developed a misunderstanding.

"I asked you to meet up here since I want to tell you something. Just know that no matter what you say you can't change the decision and even if you tried using force you still won't be able to stop me." I say with a serious expression shocking my parents. My mother more towards the attitude I'm showing them while my father more towards what I said about them being incapable of stopping me.

"Can you explain what you mean by being incapable of stopping you son." Asks my father to which I simply release my aura of an Ultimate-class level 5 devil shocking both of them. What I learned was that the aura one releases represents their combat level. Which is represented by many things like their capacity, control over mana and their element and many other characteristics

"Do you understand now father." He nods and I explain to them how my control over magical energy that I've come to call mana is much greater than their meaning I can cast the same attacks as them for a significantly lower cost.

This shocks my father even more than when I said they can't stop me. all along they all thought that control increases naturally and here I am telling them that I trained mine to a level much higher than his.

"The reason I asked you here is not about training control though I will tell you how if you want. The reason for this meeting is to inform you that I will be making Ravel my Bishop. I promised her I would and I'm here to fulfill my promise." Ravel starts tearing up from seeing me stand up against our parents if it means fulfilling a promise, I made with her.

"I see. While I'm against it I can't stop you can I." my father says while smiling at us while my mother comes and embraces the two of us.

"There is another reason why I asked for this meeting. In all honesty, I haven't integrated my king piece into me since I finished what I like to call Nirvana which is when my body broke down and rebuilt to accommodate my soul (Lie). So, I would like to use this room since it has barriers that will prevent my aura from leaking and I would like the two of you to enhance the concealing barrier with your powers." To say they're shocked would be a massive understatement. They know about the boost a devil receives from a king piece and yet I surpassed both of them without having received the boost.

My dad stands up and begins to laugh out loud while my mother has tears coming out of her eyes.

"You are going to be the very first Ultimate-class devil to have the Phenex blood coursing through their veins son." My father hugs me while yelling this out with a large goofy smile on his face. My mother, on the other hand, is silently crying while embracing me saying that she was proud of me.

Ravel has a large smug look on her face since she had already been aware that I wasn't integrated with my King piece. Though she did cry for hours when I told her what I supposedly went through and why. I then told her the boost received from a King piece and told her that I would integrate with it when I reached Peak High-class so the piece would boost me directly into Ultimate-class.

That day she was really happy and forced me to sleep in her room that night though we didn't really sleep but played or watched TV together which I got for the whole house since they didn't know anything about human entertainment.

Now back to the office I asked them to leave the room so they wouldn't be suffocated by the pressure of my aura while I integrated with it. once outside the room they all began to pump their mana into the barrier strengthening with it. when I noticed it wasn't getting any stronger, I took out my king piece and placed it over my heart.

I began shining in alternating colors, fiery red, piercing white, daunting purple, and void-like black. It then entered my chest and I began feeling different effects taking place in my body.

First, I felt like I was on fire like my very flesh and bones were melting. This continued for a few minutes then I felt like I was freezing to the point I couldn't move since I was frozen. Then I felt electrical shocks all though out my body causing me to spasm uncontrollably while I fell onto the floor. Then I felt like I was in a black hole. My body was being ripped apart while also being compressed into itself while being incapable of seeing anything.

These happened about 10 times each in the same order then it stopped. I felt relieved that it was over when I suddenly felt all 4 effects hit me simultaneously. I was burning but freezing, I could see red, white and purple but at the same time, I couldn't see anything. I was shacking but was immobile while I was being compressed. Finally, after what felt like an eternity it all ended.

That's when my aura began to grow. First Ultimate-class level 6 then 7, 8 until it stopped at Super-class level 5. This was the level my aura was at now if everything about me is taking into consideration then despite my capacity and control only being at ultimate-class level 9 I could combat beings at the level of Super-class level 5.

After checking out my condition I notice I received the max level boost which is 100 and smile. After doing some more checks and making sure whole I walk to the door and open it. I see a sleeping Ravel on the floor and my parents who look tired.

They see me opening the door and stop supplying the barrier with mana. They then sit on the floor and pass out. I pick up Ravel into my arms while I use my mana to pick up my parents and being Ravel into her room where I see on the clock that it was slightly past 1 a.m. shocking me since I entered the office right after dinner at 6:30 p.m.

I kiss Ravel on the forehead and say wish her sweet dreams then go to my parents' room to lye them down on their bed while thinking how it nearly took 7 hours.

Placing them on their bed I cover them with their blanket and leave towards my room. Unlike usually where I train the whole night I lay down on my bed and instantly fall asleep.
