1 Chapter One

"I tried loving you, Yannie. I really did. But I'm still not over Ivy."

I froze. My heart kept beating fast as the words struck every nerve I have. Hearing that from a boy I've dated for two years, it made my heart went cold.

"Then, let's just break up."

"No, Yannie. I don't want you to leave my side." He said.

How can someone be that selfish? It's as if admitting that you're still in love with your ex isn't painful at all. I looked at him. I still remembered how he tried hard to win me when he was still courting me. But during those years I've been with him, it's nothing but hell but I still chose to be with him.

I left him there without saying a word. I went home, locked myself in my room and talked to my best friend Irah.

"Well... Kit admitted that he's still in love with his ex. Ha-ha" I tried to sound as happy as I could but the words sounded bitter.

"Oh.. Yannie.. I'm so sorry. I always have a feeling that he doesn't love you the way you love him." She said comforting me.

"I know. I can't believe I've chosen to be blind. I should have noticed something. I just can't believe someone would be that cruel." A tear fell from my eye just by thinking about what happened earlier.

"You got this, Yannie. Besides I'm here for you, you know I got you always." I've never been so thankful for having a friend like Irah.

"And you know what, he even asked me to stay and never leave me. What a selfish asshole!" Now I'm angry.

"Hey, stop it. He's not even worth it. You know what, I downloaded this app called Ringer. It lets you talk with people from around here! It's time to forget about Kit! Throw yourself in the crowd! Here, I'll send you the screenshot."

"Okay. But Imma have to go now. I have to cook dinner. Talk to you later!"

I hang up the phone and went downstairs to cook for my siblings.

While cooking, I reached for my phone that is in my pocket and went to the app store. I typed 'Ringer' in the search bar and it immediately displayed results. It doesn't hurt to try, right?
