Chapter 85 : Studying Venom

"Faith is my sword. Truth is my shield. Knowledge my armor."

~Stephen Strange, Doctor. Strange

After a brief period, Jude finalized the plan to reconstruct the armor. Once the necessary materials arrived, he could begin immediately. Leaving the mechanical laboratory, Jude entered the biological laboratory, where the little spider, Peter, was conducting research on the symbiote.

"What's the update on Peter? Have you discovered anything?" Jude inquired.

Peter turned around and responded, "Mr. Herbert, you're here. Yes, I've been studying the cell structure of this flesh and blood, and it's quite peculiar. Through observation, it doesn't seem to belong to any known life form."

"Get to the point," Jude urged.

"Typically, organisms fall into six categories based on their composition—fluorinated silicone, sulfur fluoride, nucleic acid or protein, ammonia-based nucleic acid or protein, methane-based lipid compounds, and hydrogen-based lipid compounds."

Jude interrupted, "Enough with the biology lesson. I understand the categories. Carbon-based, silicon-based, sulfur-based, amino, arsenic-based, and high-energy life forms. What did you find?"

"In essence, I found traces of all these forms in this flesh and blood, distributed proportionally. But I haven't examined it thoroughly. Give me a few more days, sir."

Pushing him aside, Jude peered through the microscope at the motionless cells. Ten minutes later, the spectrum analyzer provided results. Jude examined the data and couldn't help but react, "This is unbelievable; it's a hexagonal warrior."

The analysis indicated a balanced biological structure, adaptable to any form of life. The little spider expressed surprise, stating, "This is illogical. A completely balanced life form cannot survive. Lack of specialization means it will be eliminated. How does it survive?"

"Didn't you see? It survives through parasitism. The symbiote's balanced biological characteristics allow it to evolve into any life form, adapting to its host."

"In addition to adaptation, it serves as excellent material. When merged with the host, it grants superpowers. Would you like to try, Peter?"

"No, Mr. Herbert, I don't want to end up like Eddie Brock."

"Relax; the symbiote itself is amoral. The host determines whether it leans towards good or evil."

Jude explained that the symbiote, having parasitized Eddie Brock, amplified the malice within both the symbiote and its host.

"If it were you, Peter, this shouldn't happen. Try it; think about that power."

Peter considered it but concluded, "The cells in this piece of meat have stopped moving, indicating its vital signs have disappeared. Could you find another symbiote?"

"It might be challenging to locate, being an alien life form with unknown coordinates. But it's worth a try."

Jude emphasized that even though the cells were dead, DNA fragments could still be extracted and analyzed. The little spider questioned his ability in cloning technology, to which Jude reassured him.

"DNA is a biological macromolecule, and its main information is stored in the sequence of the four bases—ATCG. As long as the degradation is not severe, extraction and amplification are possible."

Jude transferred the minced meat to the DNA extraction machine. After analysis, the DNA information was found to be completely degraded.

"Interesting, unreasonable, but interesting," Jude mused.

"What did you find, Mr. Herbert?" Little Spider asked.

"The DNA in this minced meat has completely degraded, which shouldn't happen. It's too fast. It's too fast."

Jude contemplated the implications. If the DNA information disappears, the meat is just a piece without any research value.

"Perhaps this is the biological characteristic of the symbiote. Anyway, Venom is gone, and I don't need a symbiote battle uniform. Don't worry, Mr. Herbert," Peter said.

Jude disagreed, stating, "No, Peter, you don't understand. When something exhibits an unreasonable biological characteristic, it's not a natural trait; it's biological manipulation."

He hypothesized that someone might be controlling the symbiote, and if that were the case, Venom might not be dead. The little spider, recalling his painful encounter with Venom, asked if it was possible.

"Of course, nothing is impossible in this beautiful world."

Meanwhile, at the Secret Research Institute, Amanda Waller, frustrated with the lack of research value in the report, contemplated seeking the expertise of Professor Swann.
