6 "It's alright, I'll try my best to be harmless."

"I just wish for a... A.."

Was what he heard as he turned around, uncovering the source of the voice. A kid dressed in all black. Wearing a fine suit, similar to a vampire's garments, though lacking the traditional cape which came with it. The kid's skin was extremely pale which contrasted his vibrant dual coloured eyes. He looked pitiful, just like he sounded when he spoke to him.

He froze. He recognised the kid, it was the unknown kid who had entered the town, declaring presumably an 'Overlord's decree'. That would explain why everyone else, excluding the guards guarding the brothel, would be indoors.

'This kid...is an emissary? But...why? Why send a kid? Wait...that insignia isn't of the [Overlord of Perjury], who's is it of then? Is it another rival Overlord? How strong is this kid anyway, why is he even talking to me, shouldn't he be against me, why oh why is this-'

"I just wish for you to give me a chance." Nemesis finished his sentence in a forlorn tone. Once he finished he sighed.

Shane was confused and horrified. The kid wasn't working for the [Overlord of Perjury], but somehow he knew of his plans. He also sounded so miserable when he said that last line, it was quite distressing for him. He wished to speak but before he could even open his mouth, Nemesis continued.

"I know you may not trust me but I can't stand by when someone with a life similar to mine is in such a grievous phase of life. I know you're also here for that accursed project, which condemns millions to a lifetime of slavery, just for the lust and greed of the ones in power. Give me a chance to prove myself. If you do, I'll help you fulfil your oath."

'How does he know of my oath? What can he even do to the [Overlord of Perjury]? What can I even do against him? I'm on my own... Can I really trust a demon? I mean if I couldn't trust my own biological parents then...'

While he was deep in thought, Nemesis decided to urge him forward in the right direction, making him agree to accept Nemesis. He could already tell that his trust he had earned through pity with Shane was swaying He had to act fast so he chose to lay out a trap.

"So... it's been a while since that incident, hasn't it? How're you doing? Must be rough on you, I can help you, you know. As I stated before, we're a lot similar than you think, our pasts are similar... parents, especially... tch, sorry. I shouldn't delve deeper into this, everyone has their own past, and some like to keep it to themselves. I'll excuse myself."

With his trap set, Nemesis walked away, slowly. Painfully slowly.

'Come on Shane, take the bait! Take it! No one can resist the knowledge one carries, especially when it is about their own past and the questions. The questions of how they know it.'

Shane was immediately awoken by Nemesis' words and seeing him start to walk away, although slowly, made him panic. If he left, he wouldn't be able to get the answers he wanted. The answers to the numerous questions which now circulated within his head.

"Wait! How do you know this? How do you know about me? What about my past is similar to yours? How do you know what my parents!? Tell me please!"

A small smirk grew upon Nemesis' face, though it was obscured from Shane's vision as his back was facing Shane. It disappeared quickly as he turned around to face Shane, the two looking straight ahead, their bodies as straight as a beam. They were the exact same height, and Shane grew uncomfortable with Nemesis' non-blinking eyes glaring directly at his. He averted his eyes as he unconsciously twiddled his fingers to ease his nerves.

"I know a lot, but you know more of your own past then I do. As I said before repeatedly, I just want a chance. A chance at a friendship between us. I know it would be quite obscure for us to be friends, knowing...that. Anyways, I just want to ask you one question. Do you know anything behind this entire project?"

"No..I don't know."

"Precisely. You don't know. That is why you shouldn't be doing a suicide mission alone. I mean, if you were to die, what would happen to... never mind, this isn't my area of expertise, I shouldn't speak of her."

"How do you know-"

Nemesis cut Shane off, by covering his mouth using his gloved hand. "Don't scream like that, our goal is to be inconspicuous, not to reveal ourselves immediately. The less attention we receive, the better off we'll be. Now nod twice if you understand, try scream if you don't." Shane nodded his head twice and Nemesis uncovered his mouth.

"Good, see, that wasn't a problem now was it. Anyways, let us find a more concealed place to continue, the false decree I ordered shall be over soon. I'd rather not be swarmed by demons begging for a role which I can't give them. After all, I'm not who they believe I am."

Nemesis walked off with Shane following beside him until eventually reaching a dilapidated building, with the sound of yells, laughter and loud female screams and moans being emitted from it. Shane was confused. How was a tavern a good place to hide if he didn't wish to be caught? After all, people were inside of it, and it wasn't the most secretive of places. Eavesdroppers would be everywhere, especially closer to Nemesis due to his unique and lavish attire. He couldn't let a secret of his be revealed, though his curiosity overwhelmed his rationality and decided to follow Nemesis into the tavern.

--------

The moment the two stepped inside the tavern every single demon within it grew quiet within seconds. Over 30 pairs of eyes were staring at the two. Shane kept his face towards the ground, with his cloak covering his head, though he could see through the corner of his eyes, Nemesis Looking straight ahead, with a haughty look on his face. He walked forth, towards an anxious demon, who seemed to be an employee, who was behind a long, stone table.

"Give me your best room. I'll pay a vast amount for it. A few minutes is all I need it for. How much?"

The employee blabbered incoherent gibberish until Nemesis got annoyed, rolling his eyes and sighing aloud. He placed a hand in his pocket and withdrew two Silver Spites and slammed them down harshly onto the stone table.

"Here! Take this and give me the key. I care not for chump change!"

Nemesis stated in an extremely arrogant tone, shrouding all the other men with anger at being lower in status than a kid. Nemesis could feel hundreds of plans to extort him, kidnap him or just to murder him and loot his corpse coming from them, while what he was reading from the women there was extremely uncomfortable. He could read their plans to try to seduce him. He was creeped out. These women were way older than him. He could see that several of them were over a thousand years old.

He gave a harsh glare to the employee, secretly using [Void Manipulation] to control the employee's mind and body into giving him the key. Nemesis elegantly took it from him, while harrumphing. "Useless peasant, wasting my precious time, you're fortunate that I am very merciful. I won't punish you... this time."

He snatched Shane's arm through his cloak and quickly ran off. Not to save time, but to get away from the jealous aura arising within the tavern from the women. He heard countless swearing words from them, even hearing them mutter them softly. If it weren't for him connecting with every single [Void Conduit] within the room, he wouldn't have heard it.

Soon Nemesis stomped through several hallways, making his way to his room, dragging Shane with him. Several shouts, yells, moans and other noises were heard as they walked. "H-hey! Let go of me." Shane meekly said. "Why? Here, look. I have a false image I must cope with, you know exactly what it's like. I can't let others find out the truth, otherwise, we'll be caught and this mission will be a whole lot more difficult." Nemesis whispered softly to Shane, so only he could hear, then continued. "Shh, keep your voice low anyways, also ignore the noises."

Blocking out the noises, they made their way through the now dubbed by Nemesis, [Hallway of Moans]. Nemesis finally reached his room and entered quickly, along with Shane and slammed the door behind them. Nemesis then forced Shane against the wall, tearing the cloak off of his head. He impelled Shane's blue eyes to stare directly into Nemesis' emerald green and azure blue eyes. His eyes widened in shock, as he caught a glimpse of Nemesis' hand striking near his head, entrapping him. Nemesis' face started to advance closer, with their noses nearly touching. Shane tried to escape from losing his virgin kiss, he couldn't lose it yet! He had promised her. He tried fruitlessly to flee from Nemesis' grip, but he couldn't move. He had seemingly lost all ability to move. He then gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, trying his best not to think of what was to occur. Unfortunately, Nemesis broke his futile illusion with only a single sentence, stated in a suggestive tone.

"It's alright, I'll try my best to be harmless."

Tears fell down Shane's face as he felt something cover his mouth.
