15 Retreat

"It looks like he is being quite meek… he doesn't want to fall behind, but he knows that if his original gets hit by that sword, it will be game over," Sasuke thought.

The executioner's blade is a large broadsword, as tall as a full-grown man, shaped like a butcher knife. The blade itself has two cutouts, a circle close to the top and a semi-circular one nearer to the handle, the former of which is aptly fitting the sword's purpose of decapitation. The latter notch allows a strap to be wrapped around the weapon, making it easier for the user to carry. Its extremely long handle is also detachable to further aid transportation and then reattached when required for combat.

"No one here knows this yet, but Like the other weapons employed by the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the sword possesses a unique power, this being its ability to reform itself using the iron harvested from the blood of its victims, "Sasuke thought. "This regenerative process takes place almost instantaneously and is capable of bringing the weapon back to its original condition no matter how severe the damage is, from a simple chip or nick to a complete separation of over half the blade. The sword also possesses high durability and is quite strong, able to cut through almost anything. However, due to its considerable weight, only especially strong and resilient individuals can handle wielding it for long durations; otherwise, they will tire quickly."

It was unlikely that they could damage the weapon with simple weapons like kunai and shurikens… but maybe Kakashi could do it with his Chidori.

"I won't let you," Kakashi said and then dashed toward Zabuza.

Sasuke suddenly felt a shiver… something was off in that situation, then he quickly realized what was about to happen… Zabuza was trying to fool Kakashi.

Before Sasuke could alert him, Kakashi and Zabuza traded lightning-fast blows. Kakashi trusted his kunai many times at Zabuza's throat to keep him busy from controlling the clones and swinging his sword, and even though that worked for a while, Zabuza made Kakashi fall for his trick.

After pretending that he had slipped, thanks to a pebble behind him, Zabuza enticed Kakashi to finish him off. Still, instead of getting bit, Zabuza quickly turned his body and swung his right leg like a whip, hitting Kakashi's legs and making him lose his balance. In the next moment, the clones grabbed Kakashi's arms while Zabuza swung down his sword… he wasn't planning to keep him alive by using the Water Prison technique and killing the others one by one!

Before Zabuza could finish the blow, a Naruto clone suddenly hit his shoulder with a body slam, and then Zabuza clicked his tongue in annoyance before swinging his sword and splitting the clone in two. The cut had been so clean and quick that Naruto flinched and hesitated in sending his other clones for a moment.

"Kakashi can free himself, but I need to buy time for that…" Sasuke thought while running in the opposite direction where Naruto's clones were.

Zabuza's focus split into those three, and then he clicked his tongue when he saw Sasuke with several shurikens in his hands… he could tell that they would fly straight to his head if he were to expose his back by attacking Kakashi.

"It seems that your students want to die before you, Kakashi," Zabuza said. "I should at least help them with that."

Zabuza disappeared and then reappeared, charging toward Sasuke. He barely had time to react and throw the shurikens at him. Although he made them fly in a wide arc and approach the rogue Shinobi from the sides, he still easily blocked them with a single swing of his weapon.

Sasuke began to make the hand seals for the Fireball technique. Still, it was clear that he wasn't going to finish them in time… Zabuza swung his sword, but then he flinched when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his right arm. When he looked over his shoulder, he saw a kunai there, and he found the direction it came from… it was Sakura and Tazuna's. Although she was so overwhelmed by the situation, her lack of bloodlust made her attack impossible to detect.

"You fucking…" Zabuza cursed, but then he realized that Sasuke had finished his preparations.

The massive fireball was fired, and Zabuza bid behind his sword… the attack pushed him backward for dozens of meters. Naruto and his clones moved away, but Kakashi and Zabuza's clones didn't have the chance to do so. Still, when the temperature increased, the water clones were canceled, and Kakashi was freed. In the blink of an eye, he summoned a mud wall and stopped Zabuza from moving.

An explosion happened, and then a massive curtain of smoke spread across the area… Kakashi moved to protect Naruto, Sakura, and Tazuna. Still, soon he relaxed a bit when he realized that Zabuza's bloodlust had weakened.

"I will assume my defeat this time, Kakashi and brats," Zabuza's voice echoed in the area. "But this is far from over… you all are going to die, so have fun enjoying your last few days of life."

Sasuke frowned when he heard that… Zabuza assumed his defeat a bit too sooner than he had imagined. While his fireball caused point-blank damage, his sword should have protected him.

"I guess Sakura's attack was what determined the end of the battle this time…" Sasuke thought.

"You obtained 1000 training orbs."
